Before After

I. Love. Food.

Don't you?  That's right, or you wouldn't be here.

Okay, so, the last week or so has been nice and Autumny around here, so all my normal Autumn hankerings came out.  I made my absolute favorite soup, St. Pat's Soup.  The broth is seasoned with whole coriander and allspice, and takes on a wonderful, unique flavor.  If you like to cook at all, you have to try this.  Of course, you can make it low fat by choosing low fat sausage.  It's got low GI waxy-skinned potatoes, carrots, and loads of cabbage.  We skip the beer and just use broth - and we skip the mustard, too.  Tastes better the second day.  We like ours with crusty bread, but watch yourself with that bread!

And then there's gingerbread and pumkin bread.  We had a gingerbread experiment this weekend and made three different versions.  Well, one was pumpkin gingerbread, so it had the added vitey-A.  I am wanting to experiment more and reduce sugar, try using stevia, and use more or all whole wheat flour.

So, yeah, food.  Homemade yumminess and all that.  Just do it in moderation.  Watch portion sizes.  Allow but limit.  Adjust.  Your diet, that is.  If it hurts you to even think about allowing stuff like this, then by all means, don't even think about it.  But if you're like me and total elimination of all goodies equals sabotage, then have them in moderation.

Moderation, my friends.  That's my key anyway.  I'll try to check up on ya'll today, but hubby is hogging the computer and it's hard to get on with school and all - which I need to get back to cause recess is over.  It's back to feathers and vanes and barbs and barbules and keratin.

That soup makes me hungry.  Gosh, everything that goes in it is stuff I love.  Thanks for the link.

Thank you so much for your support and encouragement.  Keep me in your prayers as I still battle the "funk".  Blessings to you for enriched health.   Chargail

Yea!

Good point!  I love food too.  And I see what you were saying  at my blog.  That makes perfect sense.  Im happy for you that you have found a weight you like!  I noticed that there is a picture of your Emily too!
Thanks for blogging and keeping us posted.

I love food ,too!

God made it for us. To enjoy and sustain us.I always think He wouldn't have made some of it so colorful if he didn't want us to enjoy it with all our senses.  I am trying a little different diet strategy just to get my body burning again but I absolutely agree with moderation. I don't want to go on some diet that tells me I can't have real cheese or real butter. Some even have you stay away from avacados. They may be fatty but you know they have good fat in them.

yum!

Hubby and I are learning to expand our (limited) cooking repertoire together. So we'll definitely have to try that soup! Baked goods however...must stay away from those. I cannot be moderate with yummy baked goods in the house.

And yes! It is all *your* fault I felt lonely on my blog ;) You can't even take a week off with your lively, supportive comments you know...

I would have just replied via email but my blog has stopped sending the comments folks post to my email. I just see them on the blog. Go figure...

Have a great day!

web site

Thanks for the nice comment.

I did find that website when I started to do my research on coconut oil, It has a lot of good information. I have always thought that real butter was the way to go but hadn't really thought about the coconut oil. I just haven't had time to organize all my research and write a newsletter. That's my intention some time in the near future. My 2 1/2 year old son has been keepig me on my toes since the older siblings are all in school not here helping keep him out of mischief.

The picture isn't me yet (it was from april of 03) I am about 24.6 pounds from that still but am determined to get there and 25 more pounds, too! If I looked like that at 175, I should look great at 150 (my goal by the time I reach the big 40 in June).

Have a beautiful day :)       Shawn
