losing

I weighed in Friday.  177.4  I feel that I'm doing well.  I have been going to the gym like I said I would and I have changed my eating habits!!  I feel great!

The Gym

So, we went to the gym.  I felt so out of place.  I looked around and everyone looked so good and I looked so fat!  I got on the Arc Trainer (the one where you move your arms too).  I really had to push myself to even do ten minutes, but I did!!!  I decided to try some of the weight machines.  I started on the lowest weight setting for most of them.  After that I did 20 minutes on the treadmill.  After leaving the gym, I felt soo good that I had actually accomplished this.  I pray that I can be strong and continue to do what I know in my heart is right and not become a lazy bum again.

I currently am attending school three days a week from 8 am - 12 pm.  I plan to do the workouts on the days that I'm off school and also on Saturdays and Sundays.  This would be four days a week.  I am excited about the new beginning!

Happy New Year

Hello friends

Well, it's the new year, so you know what that means..  time to get back on plan.  I have lost by the WW program in the past.  I know it works.  I have started again.  Luckily my husband does the program as well.  We started on 1-1-10.  I had my first weigh in today and I lost 4.8.  I was very happy about this.  I am hoping (as usual) that this will be my final start to a new and healthy me. 

I am a member to the YMCA.  The monthly dues are taken from my account every month but I haven't been there since August.  I have been on my treadmill since the Jan. 1st trying to get back into shape before heading to the gym.  I don't want to be embarrassed there by being in such bad shape.  I think my husband and I will go there tomorrow.  I am looking forward to it.

starting again

Yesterday I signed up at Weight Watchers.  I guess this is the fourth time.  My weight was 179  :(  yuck!!  


Last week we were on vacation to Cancun, so I'm sure I gained weight there.  I'm tired of the big bras and shirts and pants!!!  I hate the way I look!!!  

Only Thursday

I took a peek at the scale today, 161.0.  I don't officially weigh in until Saturday morning.  It looks like I've lost some already, almost 3 pounds.  My  husband has lost 6 lbs.  Why do guys lose so much faster?


I took my blood pressure today, 108/80   wow..  We'll see how high it is in a few hours at the doctor's office.  

So, this morning, I overslept.  Got up about 7:30.  The kids should have already left for school.  I walked into the living room and Chris' (my 16 year old son) shoes are in the living room.  How could he have gone to school without shoes?  So, I went into his bedroom and he wasn't there.  As I passed by the bathroom, I saw him laying on the floor.  My heart was racing, what had happened?  He said he was sick and fell asleep in there..  So, I called the school and told them he wouldn't be coming in today.

I think I pulled a muscle at the Y on Tuesday.  My hip area, close to the left side of my back is killing me.  Out of the blue it twitches and aches.  I guess I did it on one of the legs weigh machines at the Y.  So, I haven't gone since Tuesday.  I will go on Friday again and see what happens.  I guess I will ask the doctor about it today.

Hair~wow

So, today I had my hair highlighted.  It's amazing how good it looks!  Why can't I ever make it look that good?!!   I feel so much better about the way I look already.  

Unfortunately, tomorrow I have a doctor's appointment.  It's a followup for my blood pressure.  Six weeks ago my blood pressure was 150 over 100 and he didn't seem to like that too much.  He put me on additional medication.  I have been logging my blood pressure since then to see if it has improved.  Sadly, it seems like it goes up and down.  It's never really the same.  I guess tomorrow, we'll find out more.

My husband, my son and I went to the YMCA last night about 6:00.  It was totally packed!!  It was hard to get on a machine.  I did the stair stepper like a pro for 20 minutes and then fought to get onto an elliptical.  I did that for ten minutes.  I felt really good afterwards.  I had a good day of eating yesterday too.  

Breakfast:  banana--2
Lunch:  Salad--3
Dinner:  tuna salad sandwich-7
snack:  one HUGE orange-3

I feel like I really didn't eat enough yesterday.  I wasn't left hungry at all though.  I am trying to follow the Weight Watchers plan and I know that was less than 20 pounts.  It was probably only 15 points.

I'm doing better today though.  
Breakfast:  egg on a bagel with laughing cow-5
lunch:  salad from Arby's with my own dressing -6 (?)

I feel so much better when I eat and live a healthy lifestyle.  


Starting AGAIN

My husband and I signed up at the YMCA on 2/21/09.  I have allowed myself to "grow" again.  I now weigh 163.4.  I can really feel that I'm out of shape.  I could barely do ten minutes on the elliptical and the stair stepper.  I did it though, even though it almost killed me.

We will see how this goes.  I hope this site will help to keep me accountable for my actions.  I went to the store and I bought some bananas, oranges and other healthy foods.  I am writing down everything that I eat.  This is no fun!!  But I know in the end it will be worth it.
