Monday

Hey!  I've got my whole family talking about Brussel Sprouts.  I wanted to go to the grocery store after Church.  But everyone was hungry so we went out to lunch.  When we talked about what we were going to pick up at the store all I was certain I wanted was Brussel Sprouts.  We didn't get to the store!  So...to the store today I go!!!

I need to get on a scale!!!  We were weighing in at work for awhile and then they moved all the furniture and painted.  I don't know if the person whose scale it was took it home or...?  I need to find out where I'm at

I played at tennis yesterday with my daughter.  Good exercise.  I hope we'll improve.  I'm not exactly ready for the French Open!

So far today I had frosted mini wheat cereal for breakfast and about a half gallon of coffee.  Look out world!  I am in a good mood and I am caffeinated!

Cola

I read today that drinking one-a-day Cola can reduce bone density.  I had cut back to one diet cola a day, thinking that I was doing a good thing.  Now, I read this (on Yahoo in their Healthy Living section) and I am thinking I should probably cut back even futher. It says that specifically cola, not carbonation, is suspected to be the problem. Something about phosphorous.   Soooo...guess I'm changing that part of what I " consume".

Darn!

Better to learn about it before it's too late.  Just wish Pizza and coke were healthy choices for every meal!  HA!

Hey,  I hate coleslaw.  My DH bought a huge thing of chopped up cabbage like you'd use in coleslaw.  I used about 1/2 of it in a salad I make with Ramen noodles, nuts, olive oil & vinegar.    Any other ideas on what cabbage for slaw is good for?  I hope you can share before this stuff goes bad on me.  I hate to waste it.  Too bad I forgot to say "Don't get a huge thing at Sam's!"

I ate the best breakfast this morning!  Try it.  Raspberries and a Caribou Crunch Chocolate Mocha bar.  YUMMY!

Hola!

We are back from our Spring Break vacation.  Went to Mexico and had a marvelous time!  I am not going to weigh myself until Tuesday, though!! 

I will see if I can figure out how to post a pic or two....something new for me to learn.  Gotta be easier than learning Spanish!!!

We went to part of a Easter service (we didn't know what time to be there so we were late) at a small Catholic Church in Playa del Carmen.  Service was in both English and Spanish.   I enjoyed that!  Also went four wheeling and to the Mayan ruins in Tuluum.  There were iguanas everywhere.  I think they are so cool!

Spring Break

Hey, everybody!

I'm still alive and still "on task".  Spring Break starts tomorrow and I'm taking off work.  Planning on fun even tho it is supposed to rain.  

Trying to plan a group outing for my Church group to go rock climbing, but the dates are not working out.  I'm disappointed, but figure God has another plan.  Just wish I knew what the plan is so I can make arrangements!

I am hungry and need some breakfast.  I have grapes for today's snack and I am dreading eating them.  They are tasteless and have some bitter flavor in or on the skin that does not wash off.  Oh well, waste not want not!

Today's scripture for me is Romans 8:28  "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose" I believe that!  Some of the things that happen don't seem to be part of a Godly plan, but I know there is a plan.  And we're to live it!

My driveway is gravel and has a big hill.  It has been washing away.  DH has been patching and fixing and is doing great.  Wish it would stay fixed!

Changed my goal

OK.  I increased my goal weight by 5 pounds and I gave myself to Mid-August!  I've lost about one pound a month so far.  I figure if I am more consistent eating well then I'll lose 3 pounds a month.  Get me down 15 pounds in 5 months.  I know better than to think that'l  be easy for me!

I bought a dress 3 sizes bigger than the ones in my closet. 

Not gonna give up, though!

I don't know who to credit for the following quote, but it spoke to me today:

Never give up on a dream just beacuse of the length of time it will take to accomplish it.  The time will pass anyway.

Danced with Paula Abdul this morning.  Eating is reaonable.  I have much to be thankful for!  The weight loss will come in time if I remain tenacious.  One day at a time.
