Bad Weekend
So, I did not stick to plan this weekend. Breakfast both days was good, but other than that it was almost a write off. Today wasn't so bad, I went over my intake but not drastically so. I didn't get enough protein in either. But I walked around all afternoon, so I don't feel too badly about it.
Yesterday was another matter though! For lunch I had a bacon sandwich and for dinner I ate at McDonald's!!! I had a Big Mac and Fries. Then to top that off I had a Minty mudbath shake! Oh My! That's almost a days worth of calories! So I figure with all the extra calories, salt and fat I ate, my Weigh In this week is not going to be good. I'll try to redeem myself tomorrow, and drink lots of water to lose some of this water I'm holding onto, but it doesn't look good.
Oh well, I can't change the past. At least I had a fun weekend.

Progress pictures
So I took a couple of progress pictures. I can see the difference in my belly, but other than that there's not too much of a change. I didn't expect miracles from a 10 lb loss though.
Today was exhausting. This morning I took my son on a walk and we went to the park. He got to try out the baby swings, the baby slide, I took him on a swing, and down the slide a few times too. He also got a chance to play in the sand which he really seemed to enjoy. Until he toppled over and got a face full of it! Oh what a sight, I would have laughed if he wasn't crying so hard.
Anyway, we came home, and he went down for a nap, while I cleaned and did laundry. Then he got up and we played for a bit. I also had to wash out a bunch of wine bottles, because I had made a batch of homemade wine. That took a good 45 minutes. Then we went to the shop, and I did all the sterilizing, bottling, corking and sealing. That took about an hour and a half. My son was surprisingly well behaved the entire time. Never cried or whined, just watched me do my thing. Even the owner commented on what a good baby he was being. It was alot of work, but the end result was 31 bottles of Strawberry Riesling for about $95. That should last a while too, since my husband won't drink it. He says it's a girly drink. I had a half a glass in the shop, it's pretty tasty too.
My weight is starting to come down a bit, back towards my weight on Monday. It looks like a day of rest was exactly what was needed. Tomorrow we're all going to the beach, so I think I'll be getting quite a bit of walking in. Have a great weekend everyone!

Workout
Ah, I'm so sore. I went and did another workout at the rec centre today. My muscles are really feeling it now. I probably didn't give myself enough of a break from the yard work I did yesterday. Tomorrow, I think we'll just go for a walk around the neighbourhood. It's not even about exercise at this point, I just need to get out of the house! My son gets really cranky, if we don't go out and do at least one thing during the day. It's like he's getting bored of hanging with just me. :P
Anyway, I overate again today. My diet on the whole was very good. I would have been on target, but I decided to have 4 chocolate chip cookies. I keep them in the house to put in my husband's lunches, but I'm starting to regret buying them. It's not too worrying, I have been exercising quite a bit.
My scale is up like 3 lbs from my weigh in earlier this week, (I weigh in 6:30 pm on Mondays) which does have me a little worried. I know that weight fluctuates, but I don't normally go up by this much. I was thinking that maybe it was due to the exercise. I know others have mentioned that phenomenon before, when they work out, especially with weights. Well yesterday's yard work was definitely weightlifting, and I did a little today in my class. I'm hoping that's what it is anyway!
Ah well, we'll see whether the scale drops back down soon enough.

Yard Work
So, I overate today, but I don't think it's an issue. Hubby and I had been planning some landscaping for the yard for a while now. Today we finally said screw it! Who cares if we can't afford to rent a Bobcat, let's just do it ourselves. So we got out the wheelbarrow and shovels and just started moving that earth around. I'd say that today we cleared out about 60 cubic feet of dirt! Needless to say, in this hot weather, my water intake was great too.
I feel great, I just hope it doesn't decide to rain, before we get everything settled again in the yard. I'd say we still have another full day ahead of us, to finish.

Reason #5
To keep me motivated, I am going to keep track, and post my 65 Reasons to lose 65 lbs.
I want to be fun and flexible in bed! I was a little hesitant to post this one. I had been thinking of it for a while, but thought it might be bordering on TMI. Then I thought, who gives a damn anyway! It's not like I'm getting into details. :)

Reasons to Eat
So, I checked out a book from the Library, called "Outsmarting the female fat cell" by Dr. Debra Waterhouse. It's really resonating with me, and makes alot of sense. One of the chapters focuses on "reasons" we give to eat and overeat. I think I've done all of these at one point or another.
I Deserve It Eating. You spent 2 hours in bumper to bumper traffic; that has to be worth at least a candy bar.
The Last Supper Syndrome. This may be the last time you'll ever see cheesecake for the rest of your life; you better eat it now while you have the chance
Nobody's Around. They are finally gone, now you can eat the cake without the dirty looks and remarks.
Kitchen Eating. You walked in the kitchen, but you don't remember why. While you are there you might as well open the cupboard and see what there is to eat.
See Food Eating. It's sitting there in the counter. You see it, you eat it. It's as simple as that.
What the Hell Eating. You ate too much at lunch, and now there is an office birthday party. What the hell, you blew it already, might as well have a piece or two of birthday cake.
Preventive Eating. You're not hungry now, but you may be in an hour and what if there is no food around? You'd better eat now just in case.
Quick Fix Eating. You're feeling depressed, lonely, sad. You need a quick fix to make yourself feel better. Ice cream has had medicinal properties since childhood.

1st Goal!!!
So I went to my weigh in tonight, and I lost 2.8 lbs! :)
I met both of the goals I had set myself last week. First, I have officially lost all of my pregnancy weight! AND I hit my goal of 20 lbs lost! I'm feeling really good about myself right now! I did really good this week, I was unofficially following the Wendie plan. Just basically varying my calories day to day. Following a high calorie day with a low calorie day. I didn't work out as much as I would have liked but I did do lots of walking.
Since I go to TOPS, there are a few incentives that I earned tonight. One, I was the biggest loser, so I got a star to put in my weight book. Two, I got $3.50, because we all put a quarter in the basket at the beginning of the night for the biggest loser. Three, since I hit my 20 lb mark, I am going to get flowers next week. We get them for every 10 lbs we lose. :) Plus the weigh in girl, told me how great I was looking, and that she could see a change in my waist.
For next week, my goal is to lose another 2.8 lbs. That will bring me to the goal of losing 10% of my body weight.

Facebook
Another time sucker. I have become a Facebook Addict. I have been online ever since my son went to bed at 9:00! I just got back in touch with my two half sisters. My step-mother moved them to the other side of the country when she split with my dad, and I haven't seen them since. I had alot of other problems with her than this. She used her children as pawns in some power struggle with my father. Us kids are the ones that missed out on knowing each other. My brother and I haven't seen them in over 10 years.
But, Man! Did they ever turn into some beautiful girls. One is 18 and the other is 20. Sometimes I miss feeling that young. I'm really starting to feel my age. Sometimes I just feel so boring, especially when I'm in Mommy mode. I think I need to develop a social life that doesn't revolve around play dates!
Anyway, today was a high cal day, but not too bad. I still burned more than I ate. I walked with Ryan for a few hours, went to the mall, but left without buying anything.
Well I guess I'll get to bed, my son will still wake up whether I want to sleep in or not!

The temptation of the deal
Today was a good day! I exercised, my food was on plan. The only thing that didn't get done today was housework! Oh well.
While I was out walking today, I was thinking about some things. Why is it that all of the bad foods are the ones that always go on sale? (chips, chocolate, ice cream, pizza, etc..) Why does it always cost less to buy the junk.? Only 49 cents to biggie/supersize a meal?
I am very budget conscious. Alot of times I find it hard to go against my inclination to get "the deal". Sure, I could get the grilled chicken and a salad. But the burger and fries deal is soo much cheaper. I could buy the smaller portioned chocolate bar (you know those ones that are portion controlled at 100 cals/each) but the one that is double the size, costs practically the same. Don't even get me started on all those clearance prices of food and chocolate after major holidays. *sigh*
I'm starting to move away from this mind set, but it is so hard!
I think the diet industry must know that many of us are desperate for that new product that will be just like our favourite food, only with no calories or fat! A reasonable facsimile of a food we like, that is "healthier" is usually going to cost more than the original version. I guess I just have to accept that and not grumble about the prices. I suppose if I get my portion sizes back to where they should be, it'll all even out. :P
Here's to all you other bargain hunters out there. May you find the healthy bargains!

HABIT
Yesterday was a chore. I finally sat down to blog last night and my computer decided to thwart me. So I ended up going to bed, and just leaving it until today.
My hubby had the day off work, so he watched our son in the morning while I went to the gym and did a workout. I know this is going to sound ridiculous, but it was such a nice break to go and work out! I did the HABIT workout class, which targets your hips, abs, buns and inner thighs. It was a pretty hard workout. I really worked up a sweat, and there were a few exercises that I couldn't do. After the workout I popped into the training centre and did 10 minutes on the treadmill, before I had a shower and went home.
I spent the rest of the day with my son, while my hubby mowed the lawn and had a nap (must be nice!). I ended up going to the grocery store in the afternoon, and picked up some nice steaks for the bbq. Top sirloin was on sale for $2.99/lb :) So we had a good dinner, I had a steak, mixed veggies and a baked potato.
All in all, I ate pretty healthy yesterday. My only problem was portion sizes, I ate a lot! A huge gigantic salad, a double fruit smoothie with banana, strawberry and skim milk and lots of other stuff. In hind sight I probably shouldn't have eaten the 2 Tbsp. of almond butter with WW bread in the morning, but there's nothing I ate yesterday, that was bad for me. I figure my appetite was probably increased by the workout. So I overate, but kept it in control.
I figure today, I'm going to get him in the stroller and go for a walk, to the library, post office and bank, while we run some errands.
