Before After

Back from a long weekend

Sorry I'm always inactive on the weekends- I always feel like I miss out on a lot over the weekend lol... but here's some stuff for the weekend

Week 3 WW topic: Trigger Enviroments

BWAHAH- I have truly loved this series of meeting topics, because well, I am a trigger eater!  I've definitly learned a lot over the past 3 weeks and this week was no exception.  So first we started off by identifying our trigger enviroments.  Well I believe that any enviroment can be a trigger if the timing is right.  But my trigger enviroments include: restaurants, my mom or dads house, my grandma's house, nighttime, unfamiliar surroundings etc.

So the next phase is learning to manage your surroundings.  When I first jioned WW I would bring my own food to my parents' house, and order accordingly at restaurants.  At home, I plan ahead and don't keep trigger foods around.  At work, I bring my own meals.  As the years have gone by I have looked at gma's, dad's, and mom's as "free eating" time- I eat pretty much constantly when I'm at home.  Also, they have all sorts of food that I don't normally eat at my disposal.  Sooooo how do I manage those enviroments that aren't truly mine to control?  Well one of my oldest tricks is to just make the entire family dinner or at least help with it so I can guess-timate the points.  Something I've done recently at my dad's house is play DDR with my lil bro instead of hanging out in the kitchen.  At my grandmas I've been playing games with the cousins or talking to my grandpa to stay distracted.  It's still tough but I've been getting better.

When I'm at home which is where I spend most of my time  I try to keep my room and stuff as clean and organized as possible, I keep my cupboards full of healthy, tasty foods and try to keep myself focused.  Everyday is a challenge but I'm a work in progress

Definitely

I think progress is definitely the key.  And you are most definitely progressing.  Way to go!

Great Post

I think  Ineed to work on my environment. I have a lot of snacks that are aorund me that could become trigger foods. However majority of those snacks are for my son. ( I know making excuses! 0 I have been doing pretty well though. A while I go I would over do it on the snacking but I have ben mixing good snacks with not so good snacks so it balances out, lol.

You are doing great keep it up!

P.S. I added you as a friend I hope you don't mind.

So true

Our environments really do impact what we eat.  For example, in the office there are lots of cookies and things lying around.  And so when I make a cup of tea I eat one or six.  That's not good behavior!  I think part of it is being conscious of our surroundings and being conscious about eating, rather than mindlessly dropping food in our mouths!

Right on!!

Stacking up on healthy food makes it wayyy easier than if you..say..kept tons of chip, ice cream, cookies and cola in your house! =) It's fun having control over what we eat..but sometimes it's just out of our hands and we have to adapt..but still make conscious choices.

Playing DDR before supper? Awesome idea!! You get exercise, keep yourself from over-snacking and spend time with your family. Can't get any better than that!! Have a great day  =D

WIP

I am a WIP too!! Work in progress. I like that! Hope you are doing well!!

Big hugs
