Okay its just one hurdle

Well Monday at the WW meeting it was, lets just say I might be focusing on the program at home.  Not to be judgemental but the group thing is not for me.  When I say I don't have anything to say group leader I don't have anything to say!!!!!

Then today I met with my family doctor to review the lab results from the blood I had drawn a couple weeks ago during my physical.

I kinda thought I knew what the results would be, but I was choosing to ignore the signs and symptoms, even though I am a RN, I knew better.  My results showed that I was diabetic.

Bummer!

But all is not lost, with diet and exercise I can control the beast!!!  Will write more later.

Hi!

I just ran across your blog and I wanted to say that if you are up for it, try another meeting. I'm not sure how many are offered in your area, but if you can find a different leader it can make the difference of night and day. It took 3 different meetings for me but I found a great one that *I* clicked with. ..and I actually enjoyed going to the meetings. And I miss them now!

Good luck :)

i agree

with helona.  it sounds like that meeting was not the right fit for you.  it takes me a while to warm up in a new environment too, a lot of people have been really successful with ww and by attending their meetings.  i just count calories, and do not follow any specific plan.  i am sure that whatever you decide to do, you will be successful.  i am sorry to hear that you are a diabetic, but as you know, you can take control of this disease.  i am cheering you on!

If you're still not up for it...

Try WW online.  I do it because I'm a student and there are no meetings on campus, so it's easier.

I've been with it for 6 weeks or so, and I love it!  The boards are great, and unlike meetings, you can go on 24/7 for support.  The only problem is being accountable to yourself.  But if you're sure meetings arn't for you, check it out!

Best of luck,

-Tals

The group thing

Is not for everyone, I totally agree, like you I am not one that works well with others, because half the time they are doing it wrong anyway, right? LOL!

Sorry to hear of your diabetes diagnosis, but yes you can take control now.

You can do this! Good luck!
