Why Facebook makes me lonely how I am Made to Crave

I started reading the audiobook, DVD, and study guide to "Made to Crave" by Lysa Turkherst.  I am enjoying it more this time around.  It's amazing how we can grow spiritually so little and then all of a sudden something from life hits us and I'm convinced we can jump two grade levels.  She really rambles up some good verses to support spiritual growth through food struggles.

When I see people on facebook sometimes I feel lonely.  Then I realize they are only posting certain things, that they choose, from their life just like I do when I post.  So if I'm comparing myself for good or bad, to a facebook post that is what is pathetic.  We are more than the sum of our tweets, posts, and the one good profile picture we can find out of the 100 we take.

Something about this doggone heat makes waking up at 5am to walk worth it.  My husband did a little research and confirmed 5am is the coolest time in a 24 hour period.  I'm on it, buddy.  I almost forget it is summer at 5am.  I stopped obsessing about speed and now I just play an audiobook.  It's actually pretty nice.  It's like having a bible study and walking at the same time.  Well, it's not like, it is.

Facebook makes me lonely, too. All my friends are scattered across the country, and I really miss having people around me whom I have things in common with. I guess I should just be thankful facebook even exists or I wouldn't be interacting with them at all.  However, I have three friends that really get my dissatisfaction stirred up. All three are gay men in their 40s, who have TONS of disposable income and flexible jobs, so they travel the world at the drop of a hat. I swear a day does not go by that ONE of these friends doesn't post some photos from Bali or Prague or Paris. It's excrutiating!

I also know what you're saying about the heat. I was getting out at 7 a.m. to walk, but now it's hot by then! Five seems a little too early--not sure I could really do it unless I was asleep by 9.
