OK, I just took out a cancer policy and a year ago I took out Long Term Care insurance. I hate paying for them, but yet I see all these terrible things happen. How does one keep themselves from going insurance crazy????
Well, I think you are probably doing a good thing by being prepared. I mean how do you ever know if something like that is going to happen and what it can do to you financially makes the medical condition even worse. My parents experienced this when my Step Dad got colon cancer. The savings was plenty until he was out of work for a year and using it to live. I think it is a wise move.
