Before After

8 months!

Well people, here I am at 8 months and I feel so great!  The Doc says all is well and I am still walking 30 minutes 3 -5x's per week and hitting the gym for light weights.  I have definately gained weight, but strangly, I don't feel "fat" just pregnant.  So, I think that's good right?

So, is it true that with a vaginal delivery you have to wait six weeks to exercise?  No way!  Jenny Craig told me I couldn't start back until six weeks either! BOO HOO!

It will be a good thing

Six weeks will pass by so fast.  Your hormones need to get back in order, you will lose some if you nurse, and your body just needs to get back to normal.  If you think about it, it is just 6 weeks and not 9 months!  I had a great set up.  My mom came and stayed the 1st week with us and waited on me hand and foot, even brought the babies to me if I was sitting on the couch, so I could nurse.  Made food, cleaned, washed.  Then my MIL came daily and stayed with me during the day, doing all of the above, made dinner, then left.  Then my dh took off the third week and we took care of things together.  The fourth week I was on my own, during the day.  Then two more weeks and you will be back to exercise and JC.  It is such an amazing experience.  My dd is 11 today.  I am so amazed even today as she is changing daily.  Some days are good, others, well a learning experience.  Today is the last day she will turn 11!!!!  How amazing is that?  Enjoy the last few weeks.  I tell my kids that it was just the two of us connected.  They were such a part of me, until delivery!  But before we were one!!  I know I am such a sap when I think about their births.  God is so good!!!

Walking

I do believe the six weeks is for strenuous exercise/high impact.  I think you'd be able to go walking still.  I guess you'd need to for sure check with your doctor though.  The time will go pretty fast, either way.  I remember after I had my c-section, I was pushing the stroller taking walks.  Maybe a week or so after.  This is coming so fast!  Good luck with delivery and definitely keep us updated!!!!  Can't wait to see pics!

Tradition

Hey! Not that I have a kid (or any experience at all!!), but folk wisdom here says that you are supposed to chill out and not do anything for 40 days and that everyone else is supposed to take care of you instead. 6 weeks sounds about right

YAY FOR YOU

I actually peeked at your profile a few weeks ago and was so excited to see that you are expecting.  What a blessing! You look beautiful by the way.  Dont stress about the six week waiting to exercise rule.  It takes about that long for you to get used to your babys routine i.e. lack of sleep etc.   I am trying to commit to exercising and eating right again.  It is awesome that you have been able to maintain during pregnancy and not use that as an excuse to throw your hard work out of the window.  Have a nice day!
