Allergy doomed

I spent Friday night at a friend's house with a cat. I hate this cat. Not to say I hate all cats, because I don't, at all. But this cat? Evil. And she sent my allergies into overdrive. Saturday night I had the worst allergy attack ever. I couldn't stop sneezing & dripping, ew, I know, sorry. It was awful. Goodbye 1 box of tissues. The whole box.

Hello Sunday. Hello attempted walk/jog of 7 miles. Hello not being able to take a deep breath. Hello crap in my quad, and side. Goodbye decent, full lengthed run.

The run today sucked. I had to stop at 6miles. I jogged about 3.75 out of those 6, but I was miserable. :( Thursday's jog of 6 went much much much better.

Anyway, my friend V and I decided to register for the 1/2 marathon in september. We've lost our damn minds. Our goal is to walk 1/2 and jog 1/2. She's faster than me, so that's a bit awkward. I'm super slow. She's just regular slow, hahaha. I booked my flight to Boston tonight (then we'll drive up to maine together). Scared and saying it!

My weight is back down to only being .2 up from where I was. I can handle that. I feel like I'm maybe looking slimmer even if the scale isn't showing it.

I went shopping at the express today, and I bought a shirt in a medium. I don't know how, or why. Because really, I'm not a medium anything. I'm a large.. pretty solidly. I'll take it, I mean, haha, but still, a M? At the express?

I'll try and write more tomorrow... Maybe even something that's coherent! (Who knew?)

No excuses

Hey EP, long time no post. But, not to worry, I've still been working out and attempting to eat decently. Most of the time! ;)

Let's see. I went away after school finally ended. Hit up my hometown in NY, then went to Montreal (one of my favorite cities) and ended in Rehoboth Beach, DE. All in all, it was a bit of a whirlwind, but things were pretty good. I'm up a few lbs (2.4 right now) but I also have my period. I'm going to give myself til Thursday before I put it on my chart. I figure that's fair. I'm not trying to cheat the game, I promise. Thursday's my birthday, so I'll just keep it real then.

Exercise has always been easier for me than controlling my food intake. With that said, I've been doing a fairly decent job working out and training. I feel like I'm definitely getting stronger. On Sunday, I went for my "long run"- I still don't feel like a runner because I'm so very slow, but, whatever. I did 6 miles total, and I ran about 4.75 miles out of the 6. That was a personal best for me. Sure, it took me 1h24m to finish said 6 miles, but, that's not the point.

The one thing I've been lacking has been weight training. I will weight train this week on Friday, due to my running schedule. Tues- 2miles, Thursday- 5miles, Sunday- 7miles. Again, I won't be running all of it, but, it's good exercise.

Food was really good up until my trip to NY... ya know when you go back home and your mom cooks for you... and you get pizza from your favorite place... oy. I'm outlawing pizza for the next month. Done!! Bastard deliciousness.

For my bday on Thursday, I'm planning to go to an italian restaurant in DC that's one of my favorites. I know dinner will be pretty heavy, so I'll try to be good the rest of the day! Wish me luck!

Alright, well, I'm going to get a move on. I need to shower up and then make dinner. I've been so hungry all damn day. I hate days like that. :(

I'll try to post regularly from this point on, as I'm back in town and things are more calm. We'll see how I do, right?

A little bit of this, and a little bit of that

Well everyone, it's been a crazy few days. I'm going to forewarn you now that this post is mostly NOT weight loss related. Yeah...

Diet & Exercise- food has actually been pretty good lately. I'm still not drinking as much water as I should be, but, I'm working on it. I've gotten a bit better- the hot weather helps with that, as I'm thirsty regularly, whereas when it's colder, I'm rarely thirsty. I need to workout more, especially now that work has calmed down. I'm looking forward to that. I've been feeling a bit nauseous though lately, so that's hindered exercise a bit. My bottom is still not right, and that needs to fix itself already!

My favorite semi-annual holiday- It comes 2x a year, and it makes me oh so happy each time. It's the Victoria Secret Semi-Annual sale! And I love it! I love their underwear, I love their bras, and I just love the thrill of getting them super cheap! The sale is on, and I now own more stuff than I need, but, that's my thing, ya know? Some people are hooked on crack, lol, and I am hooked on undergarments. Such is life, hahaha! :)

New Roommate Madness- So my housemate had this girl R move in with us. It's so awful! She follows him around like a puppy, and is not particularly bright. She's apparently intimidated by me? And told him that I'm smart, pretty, 'teacher-like' and that I make her feel insecure. That's awful! I've tried really hard to be nice to her! I offered to go out shopping with her, and printed 2 Express coupons for us; not only did we not go together, she went w/J, but she took BOTH coupons! Ha! A for effort I guess. When we were talking earlier, she was telling me that her life goal now is to find J the perfect girl. It's laughable, because it's sooooo obvious that she wants to be that perfect girl. In the middle of that, she was telling me how pretty and hot I was. It was really... awkward. :(

Boys/Tools: And I don't mean the useful kind of tools. I went out last night w/this other guy J (not my roommate). We've known each other for a while, but I hadn't seen him in 2 yrs. At that time, I think he had a small crush on me? Anyway, we went to the nationals game, because he had an extra ticket, and I had no plans. It was horrible! He was talking to my chest all night long, made a comment about how I have "enough padding" (referring to my ass, though he claimed he was talking about the wall???), and just generally left me feeling very gross. He did the hug goodbye, where he just wouldn't let go when he was supposed to... yeah. Fun. As we were leaving the game, there was a guy selling 5 dollar hats. As I was walking towards him, he was like, "mmmmhmmmm, yeahhhhh, that's what I'm talkin' bout!" And I was like, are you serious? And he was like, "mmmmmm, yeah girrrrl!" Gross. I'm supposed to go out w/D tonight, a friend from way back. He's kind of flakey, we'll see what happens, if we even go out! I don't know what I've stepped in that's attracting this attention, but it can stop, now, lol.

I think I'm going to take a nap though... Maybe some more sleep will help fight the semi-nauseousness. Yeah. We'll see!

Exhausted

Hey all,

The crazy shizz at work is almost over, and I will take my life back again. I worked out today for the first time in a week. :( My ass is still sore, believe it or not, from when I fell down the stairs! I'm going to ice it in bed tonight, because, I'm awesome like that.

I've been really behind at work. I try so hard, and there always seems to be something more to do, especially as team leader. My goal is to finish tomorrow, packing everything, and getting all my stuff squared away. I've worked 25 hours so far this week, only Mon/Tues! I don't know if I'll get it done tomorrow, but it'll be close.

Diet... Well... it hasn't been that bad. I haven't run to sweets like I sometimes might have. (I say this as I'm sucking on a lollipop, but, it's better than cake, right? lol) I'm pretty okay overall with how it's been going.

I'll be makin' the rounds to all of your blogs most likely on Thursday. I know I've been saying it, but, I will be a better ep friend! Thanks for being patient w/me! :)

I've fallen..

and my effin' tailbone hurts! Who falls down the stairs you ask? At the ripe old age of 26? (Star raises her hand...) Me! I do! That's how my Friday morning started...  I'm really just so sore. I can't put any pressure on my tailbone, I have a lovely bruise on my thigh and my elbow has a cute little scrape. I thought by now it would have been a bit better, but alas, it is not.

I weighed in Sunday and was down .6... not much, but, i'll take it. Anything downward is a step in the right direction, right? I usually weigh in Mondays, but there was just no way I was going to get there today, after working 12 hours, I was pretty exhausted.

This week is going to be a tough one, tailbone aside. I have meetings and end of the year insanity going on. This is my last week w/my kiddies, kind of sad in a way, I do really enjoy most of them.. :) I'm going to try my best to get in my goal of 4 workouts. I'm going to try not to eat everything in sight even though I'm super stressed. Word.

Oh, and a shortened version of the gym people rant (I planned to do it this weekend, but sitting just wasn't agreeing with me then!)... There are always the different gym people mulling around. There are those who are so fit and fabulous that you're just totally envious (or maybe that's me). There are some who wear way too much spandex (and really just shouldn't), and those who were way too little fabric, in general (even though they have the bodies for it). There's a guy girl at my gym. There are biker dudes and military brats. Hippies and sorority girls. It's an eclectic place. However, my absolute very least gym goer is the gym stalker. This is the person who, when there are 400 other pieces of equipment available, they take the very machine right next to yours (in full sweaty glory). They look to your screen, and try to match or one up your settings. This woman the other night... a few times now... I'm going to call her crazy gym psycho stalker... has taken to following me all the time (cardio machines, weights, the bathroom!!) While this weirds me out a bit, she ALWAYS talks outloud to herself. And it ALWAYS involves her CD player. She calls it Buffy! Buffy! She parks herself next to me and talks to Buffy and basically just drives me crazy. She must be stopped! She kind of fake works out, and then uses her towel to towel off Buffy the CD player.

There's more, but, that's more than enough, I think.

I'll try to post a few times this week, and I'll try to make my way around to your blogs. I'm sorry if I'm not great about it this week, I do promise I'm trying to improve!

I don't know how...

people run on treadmills. Really, I don't! I try, and try, and simply suck at it. I feel confined by the side bars, and I hate not being able to slow down or speed up without hitting a button. :( Why am I so awful at it?!

Tonight I decided to go to the gym to run because I wanted to walk/run a total of 5 miles. (Yay for training!) Now, I've been able to run between 2-3 miles pretty comfortably, so my goal was to run 3 and walk 2. I think I only jogged 2.25??? Because I suck. At treadmills. And, it was super hot in there.

Cranky much?? Hahaha.. sorry.

Today was another insane day at work. There were a bunch of schools closed in surrounding counties, but none in Fairfax, which is where I teach. I thought that was pretty amazing, considering that the news said over 100k people in Fairfax county were without power; how had it not effected any schools? Well, the long and short, is that it DID effect schools, and my school was one! They sent me to work in a trailer without power/AC!! There were 27 of us in the trailer, and by 10 (after an awesome math class in the dark) it was well over 80 in there. We took class outside, and sat on the blacktop under the trees in the shade- it was much more comfortable. They then decided to close the schools without power early... but that meant they wanted us to call ALL the parents! Holy crap, do you know how insane that was? We had to go back into the trailer to start making calls and the thermometer in my room read 92. Ew. We started dismissing at 11:15, and I didn't get to leave work until 2. Wow!

Have I ever mentioned how much I dislike the heat???

Anyway, work rant over. Today was an okay eating day. I'm hungry now, but, that'd be silly to eat at bedtime. I did complete 5 miles tonight on the (stupid) treadmill. :) I need to get some socks for running. They make those, right? My feet kinda hurt tonight for the first time... and on Sunday I'm supposed to do 6 total miles (my goal will again be to run 3 or more if I can), so I'd like to have them by then. Any recommendations would be awesomely appreciated.

Long Time No Post

Hi all!

Sorry it's been damn near forever- I haven't fallen off the wagon, but I have been busy with work and sick, AGAIN!!! It's awful. The sick thing wiped out 1 week of energy, enthusiam, and workouts.

But I'm back, I swear. Thanks for emails of concern, I really appreciate them!

I don't have much time to type, so I'm going to have to make this short. Today was crazy- the weather is horrible out, and right at dismissal we were under a tornado warning, so the kids couldn't leave, and they forgot about us in the trailers!! Omg, I was pissed. We go inside, and lose power- screaming, crying, hyperventilating children in the dark. FUN. Kids couldn't leave, and neither could we. It took over 2.5 hours! We're still in tornado/severe thunderstorm watches/warnings... more fun!

Working out... let's see. Well, like I said, I was sick last week and lost 6 outta the 7 days, so I worked out once. So far this week, I've worked out Sun, Mon, and Tues- today, I couldn't because the gym lost power too! It will be an off day.

I think my best friend and I are going to train for a 1/2 marathon in September. Now, before you think "wow!", haha, our goal is going to be to run 1/2 and walk 1/2. It sounds fun! And it's in Maine! Near the beach! Yay! Should be fun, I think.

Eating has been okay. Weighed in this week (remember, after 6 days of no work outs) at 1.4 down, so I was happy w/that. Hopefully next week I'll see another loss, I've been pretty hardcore so far this week. (Monday was 90 min at the gym! Yah! Arc trainer and lifting!)

Alright, well, I hope to check in on all of you tomorrow... w/all the crazy stuff at work I forgot my power cord and I think my comp is about to die, hahaha. Hope everyone is doing well, and again, I'm so sorry for disappearing!

Great Urban Race

Has anyone done the Great Urban Race before?? I'm looking into it (it sounds like such a good time! It's jogging/walking a scavenger hunt w/clues wandering around your city!) Let me know if you've done it, and what your opinion is!

Today, has been pretty uneventful. I got a cute necklace and FINALLY got the other necklace/earring set that I'd been waiting for! It's only been like, 2 months!

I went to the gym today and did the arc trainer for 40min. I was happy enough with that. I wanted to do a dvd as well, but that didn't happen. Such is life!

I have this crazy bug bite? spider bite? something bite? on my neck- right in the front, center. It itches SO BADLY!!!! Driving me crazy...

I think tomorrow I'm off to Annapolis for a day trip, maybe? I don't know! We'll see! I'll bring my camera though (reminds me I should go charge it!)...

Alright, since I'm pretty awake, I'm off to clean some. My roomie comes home this week, and I really do need to clean thoroughly.

General Insanity

I hate state testing time. It causes soooo much stress. This week has been nonstop, between interviewing new teachers, 2 days of state testing, fighting with my idiot teammates (idiots, uh!), and my period.

I haven't had much in me by way of working out this week...  I took off Tuesday and Thursday, though Tuesday was because a friend of mine had a family emergency, and I was dragged along. I can be supportive-like. Basically, I've jogged Mon/Wed/Fri so far. I plan on working out tomorrow at the gym, and then jogging on Sunday. I strive for 5, so hopefully I can make it.

My aunt went to a psychic this week, and asked about me. She said the woman told her I'd be introduced to a new guy between August of 08 and August of 09 through a friend, and that he'd be the one- dating, marriage, babies, the whole thang. I've been hanging out with T a lot lately, well, a few times a week (2-3) but I know deep down he isn't the right person for me. I was amused by the psychic though- I should check her out when I go home to NY in July.

Speaking of NY... I got into the course I needed to take this summer (1 week, so I can get my teaching license renewed in VA), so I was psyched. It runs from 6/25-7/1. That means I can go back to NY for the 4th to hang out w/my bitches (affectionately, I swear). We're going to stay in a neat hotel near Ithaca, NY, where we can hit up the wineries, the lakes and the commons (their ecclectic downtown area). I'm looking forward to it. I'll get to stay in NY through the Bravery concert on the 13th. That'll be a long time for me to visit, about a week w/my parents, but, what doesn't kill us... :) It should be nice.

Anyway, sorry I've been absent, or cranky, or whatnot. It's just the worst time of year. Have a good weekend all.

I want to eat everything in sight!

But I'm trying not to. I have the strangest craving for spaghettios??? Hahahaha... what in the world? :)

This week, I only worked out 4 days, but I was happy w/the time I put in, even though tonight would have made #5. On Friday, I ran for almost 2.5 miles (give or take, that's my best guess). It was great. It was slow, but it was great. There were hills and overpasses and flat areas, good times. I was pleased with myself. I was due for a run today, but I went out w/T's family to celebrate his dad's bday- we had brunch, then went bowling, then back to their house to play games and have cake. It was nice enough, but the animals in their house have sent my allergies into overdrive. Pair that w/a kink in my neck and super sore abs = me punking out of my jog. I'll do it tomorrow, and add to it w/an hour of lifting.

I'm not sure what's going to happen w/the weigh in tomorrow. Some days this week, I've been up, and others I've been down. On Friday, the scale at home said I was up 5! (In underwear and a tank no less!) Then on Saturday, the same scale said I was down those 5 (in jeans & a tank top), plus an additional 1. Who knows? What'll be will be.

Alright, I'm going to go relax a bit, and then head to bed. But mostly I'm going to try and avoid spaghettios, lol.
