So You Want to Get Healthy and Lose Weight in 2008!!
I was watching a show on Tuesday night and it was presented by Dr. Gillian McKeith. It was called Gillian McKeith's New Year Detox. She laid out 12 items you should avoid or eliminate from your diet in order to get healthy and lose weight.
- Soda Pop
- Bad Fats
- Salt
- Take out Fast Food
- Sugar
- White Process Bread
- Processed Meat Products
- Potato Chips/Pork Rinds
- Chocolate
- Alcohol
- Caffiene
- Smoking
It is quite the list and most we will probably have trouble doing. Do you know how much hidden added salt and sugar there are in our everyday foods? It is quite amazing! It will be very hard for me to elimiate all of these. I think it would be hard for most of us.

Happy New Year!!
I hope everyone had a good one. I did, I overindulged a little bit but oh well, I will not dwell on it. I am only looking forward.
Biggest Loser: so last night was the season premiere of the Biggest Loser. I of course, cried at the stories of the contestants. It really hit home with me especially all the stories of how many of them lost parents pre-maturely. I myself lost my father to a heart attack a few years ago. (he was only 50). This keeps playing over in my head espcially seeing how passionate the daughter on the green team was at keeping her father in the game. My father was just as stubborn as her's. I know I cannot live the way I have been with all of the extra weight on me. I don't want this to happen to me.
Now I have no choice. I have to do this for my health. There is no looking back only forward!

Where Have I Been...
Oh My God!! It is hard to beleive it has been almost three months since I last posted. There has been so much going on and I have had very little time to check in with each of you let alone focus on my weight loss.
I haven't weight myself in some time so I am afraid of what the scales with show. I have vowed to myself to try to continue this journey with baby steps and believe me that is all I can handle right now. I am in the process of transitioning my business and it is taking up a lot of my time right now. It is no excuse to let my weight loss slide.
No one is going to take care of me unless I take care of myself. It is time I stopped putting everyone and everything first and put my self first.
I don't beleive in resolutions so I will not be making any this year but I do promise to put myself and my health first this year before anything else.
Have a Happy New Year Everyone and see you in 2008!!

New Month
Hi Everyone,
I hope everyone is doing well, I have been really busy and am sorry if I have not been able to comment as much on your blogs as I would like to. I am hoping it will all settle down soon.
I had a wonderful weekend! The weather was great and I got to rest a bit. My cold is still lingering but it is getting better. TOM decided to show up FIVE days early. Uughh!!

Weigh In Day!!
Todays weigh in is 225.8 for a total of 1.0 pounds lost for the week!! Yeah!! I am not complaining what so ever. Considering how I am feeling, I am amazed I lost everything.
Busy weekend ahead. I am going to try to go to bed really early tonight and try to shake this cold.

Sneezing My Way Through the Day
I stil feel like crap!! Thanks to everyone for all of the healthy wishes and advice. I could really do with a sick day but I am too busy at work right now.
My weight loss has kind of been put on the back burner the past couple of days. I have been trying to watch what I eat but because of this cold it is too hard to get in any exercise. My chest starts hurting.
I hope you all are doing well!! Weigh in Day tomorrow. Wish me luck!!

Uugh!! Feel Like Crap today!!
Last night I started to feel like I was getting a cold. My nose stuffed up, my throat got sore. I kept hoping it was only allergy's and a reaction to how HOT it was here yesterday (33 degrees!!) . I woke up this morning feel the same. uugghh!!!
So now I am like a little fishy drinking tons of water to try to flush this all out of my system!! I hate feeling like this.

Happy Biggest Loser Day!!
I think I am starting to have "Blog Brain Block". I am find it hard to write something of interest. Oh well, this is my blog and I can write about what I want.
Yesterday started out great!! But, because I had to go on the road I had to watch how much water I took in. I think I stil managed to get in 6 glasses. Not to bad but not great. We had pizza for supper. It was loaded with veggies so I justified it. We will see how it affects me on the scales this week.
Don't forget to watch the Biggest Loser tonight!! Go Black Team!!!

New Week - Fresh Start
Well here we are friends. Another week, another week to lose, another week to be successful.
I have been doing great on getting the water in and I have to say I really think it has made a difference. I don't feel bloated anymore.
The walking has been going good too! Although I missed yesterday as family was over. Here we are back to Monday and back into routine again.
I hope everyone had a great weekend and are ready to kick some butt!!!!

Weigh in Day!!
Todays weigh in is 226.8 for a loss of .8 again!! Oh well, better to be a small loss than no loss or a gain!!
I have decided I am going to start walking for a half an hour after dinner each night and every week I will increase the time.
