So.. I am a 19 year old college student who has gained 30 pounds in a year. March of 2006 i was just 140 pounds... i have gotten out of shape and into binge eating. Some people can pull it off, but i have almost everything going against me.. First I am a vegetarian, so i substitue carbs for protein which is terrible. Second I am highly likely to get diabetes which my dad is basically dying of. Finally, with my body type i gain weight in the stomach, hips, and thighs. I need to change for me and because I resent my father for not taking care of his own life so i am going to. Today was my first day... and i'm proud that i got through it without binging or anything. Oh and that I actually made it to the gym instead of talking about it!
B- Oatmeal w/raisins and brown sugar
L - 1 cup of three bean soup
S- one hard boiled egg, one tomato w/balsamic and basil
D- protein shake/ meal replacement
At the gym i did the eliptical for 25 mins and some abs and light arm weights! not badd for my first day..

Hi
You do need to get your protein in. That is so important. Diabetes runs in my family and I am borderline. I refuse to let it go any further.
Congrats on making it to the gym! Keep coming back.
So you've successfully conquered the first day!!! Congratulations on making it to the gym instead of just talking about it. I do that sometimes as well, but the feeling I have after a workout is great!! That feeling is my motivation!
I'm a 21 year old female who is about the same in height and weight, and I have recently just started this as well.
