I have been lurkign around though I have not been posting mostly because I have been trying to Detox from the holidays. OK, lets get things off...
Song of the Post: One of the first dance songs that I heard, it fueled my love for the stuff. Also, our morning spin class instructor plays it during the workouts. I sing along, as it helps me breathe better while in there.
Getting exercise in: My mother is a pack rat, She has things from both sides of the family, random things. We had boxes packed into the house almost up to the ceiling, as well having only one chair in the house. We decided to host the big holiday, and we had to clean it all out, So, with the help of some friends, we had moved all the furniture around and packed up the garage nearly full of stuff. There is some much out there, I have not clue what is hiding in there. (Bonus funny story of the post: So I tell my mother that I would like to clean out enough of the garage to park my car in there, and She tells me that that would be a tremendous waste of space, why would you want to do that?)
As I have posted in the past, that she has several ailments. I have good news on that front, she is qualified to get stomach surgery, Which means that I will have an ally in my journey. She is doing what she can right now, though I am prodding her when I can.
SoF's Secret ally: I have a secret ally in my weight loss journey. It is also a detrament as well. I have next to no sense of smell. yep, It is all that I have ever really known. Flowers do not smell like anything, neither does home cooking. Which means that food tastes the same to me as well. It is a matter of what kind of cardboard I indulge in. If I am gaining weight, I am just being lazy and eating out instead of cooking it myself. if I cook for myself, I have more control over what I am eating. Almost anything that I eat out is 80% or more of wheat. I gave up wheat as part of a deit, and the health benefits are amazing. (Side note: all you whole grain fanatics, there are of other grains that are better for you than Whole wheat. Quinoa, Buckwheat, amaranth. etc).
Cycling Goals: I am working towards The Apple Cider Century. I can do a lots of miles already, though I need to see how far I can go by the end of the summer before I pick how many miles I am going to do. There are 25 (Which is what I do as a regular ride about 1.5 hours). 50, 75, and the big 100. that is my goal to get there.
Transformation Challange: I am working out the kinks of my transformation challange, today is the first day of the year for medatation at temple, and there is a blizzard warning today. I have been doing other things on my list of transformation challange. I have been working with work to reduce the impact of my store, I have worked out what I need to do go for a new job this year. I will only be caffinating people for fun rather than for living means. I love this whole concept so much, and once again I am happy that Alicia is championing the way. I will be as well.
Funny Story of the Post: Over the holiday, my boss gave everyone a little goodie bag, it coffee, chocolates, candies and a personalized card. My co-worker was going on and on about the card that everyone got and how much it meant to him. Everyone had been talking about their cards while I was away. I did not even know about this until he gave my mine things from their hiding place. I look over everything, and there is the card. My card was blank. yep, we started laughing over this, because he was hyping up the card so much. So, what do you do when this happens? You call your boss out on it. Chris (my co-worker) was telling me about all the nice things that you said to everyone in their cards. Though why did you leave mine blank?
Epiloge: After turning bright red, She told me that she figured that I was on vacation, and she had time, so she kept putting it off, and finally forgot.
Thanks for reading, and I will be around to read up on everyone soon

welcome back!
Glad you got through the holidays relatively unscathed. It sounds like there are some exciting new opportunities and life changes happening to you and your family: your mom's surgery, new job opps, cycling!
Thanks for the book rec. I've added it to my Amazon queue but may see if the local library has it. If I accumulate any more books, I could build a house with them :) Who needs a mortgage when you have Amazon bookmarked?
seriously?! you can sing and spin? haha i can barely breathe and spin! i am a little in awe of your cardio capabilities!
oh, i ordered the thrive book! woohooo! hopefully i find out some new things! thank you for the tip- i am excited about it. i will let you know what i think as soon as i read it.
welcome back! i hope to be hearing from you more... i still have tons of questions for you!
So what are some foods that you cook with the good wheat? Oh, and if you have very little sense of smell, what tastes the BEST for you? Just a curious cat!
