Before After

SoF has not Posted in a While...Gr

Greetings all, as the title says, I have not posted, in part because as many of you know, my life does not change very often, and partly because of what you will read shortly.

Song Of the Post: http://www.last.fm/music/Rise+Against/_/Paper+Wings
These guys are great, and really nice.  I met them a while ago.  The whole album siren song for the counter culture is great for fights and breaks ups.

Opening Shots:  So EP is notorious for eating posts.  I do not post as often as I should in BFL group because of it not accepting my posts even though I am signed in.  I typically post everything there in here as well.  So it got me to thinking, How many calories are in an EP post?  Is it by the letter? By the word?  I have often wondered if EP needs an EP blog about its addiction to EP posts.  Will there be an EP post lite with 33% less words from bloggers and commenters?  (Side note: according to the FDA for anything to be considered to be lite, it needs 33% less calories for fat and sugar).

With that

Updates:  I have often said that the scale is a compass, it will guide you if you are diligent.  My scale is really cool, though I have realized that the body fat percentage has not changed more than ~2 up or down for a year.  With everything fitting better, more energy, and nearly fully healthy unprocessed eating, it is a little surprising.  So, I will just ahve to find a trainer ro do a real test soon.  I also know this because I workout 5-6 days a week, cardio and lifting.

Chicago Triathlon:  that is the next goal, I am not a big fan of running, though I love biking a swimming.  Since, I do not have access a pool yet, and my bike is in the shop, I have been running, or making the attempt.  I have lots of experince with running, an old friend was a marathoner, and my old room mate was a swim coach.

Diet Update:  I am on a mostly alkaline diet, which is a version vegan.  The body naturally produces acid, specifically lactic acid.  I will take from stardust and add recipes and other things.

For Kate who Ate and others:
Vegan Mac and Cheese:
I use rice noodles, boil a full package in water with olive oil and sea salt in the mix.
Once they are the consistancy of your choosing, strain and set aside.
Take a half cup of water and a half cup of vegetable broth, mix in a small bowl.  Now for the "cheese".  take 3 tablespoons of nutritional yeast, one tablespoon at a time, mixing it into the bowl with broth and water.  This is done so it does not get lumpy.  take your strained noodles, mixed broths, and mix over heat until you have the desired constistancy for the "Cheese" mix.

It depends on how much you are eating that determines the servings, though I use it through out the week.

Advice: http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/women.htm
This is a great place for all things Gym and Women related.

Funny story of the Post: Is going interactive!  So this lady came in the other day, and asked for a pumpkin spice latte not too hot, only about 375 degrees.  (of all things working at a starbucks teaches you physics,).  I immediately thought if we were making a drink or baking a pie.  I told her that we cannot make drinks that hot.  She then asked for it to be 250 degrees.  Yep, the worst part of this, is that people do this all the time.  So the interactive part of this:  Have you ever said anything really stupid unintentionally in front of others?  I have also been asked what is the difference between non-fat and skim milk as well as what is the difference between hot and cold.

I less than three all the comments from everyone.
I will be around to post great things soon.

Comments to this post:

That would drive me crazy!

I get so annoyed when people in front of me have such ridiculous requests for their coffee! Just take it the way its made...why be so difficult? I'd totally get fired if I worked at Starbucks! LOL

I like the way you lay out your blog! Very organized! :) Good luck with reaching your goals!

Stupid questions...

"What do you mean you don't have any ice? You mean I have to drink this coffee hot?!?!?!" (Name the movie)

As for my personal experience with stupidity...I worked in an ice cream parlor in highschool...you wouldn't BELIEVE the barrage of questions that comes along with that job. Them: "Scuse me miss? The hot fudge is melting my ice cream" Me: "Uhh...yea...it will do that...something about the combination of ice and hot...it's weird I know" Or my FAVORITE. Them: "Uh...what's in a malt?" Me: "You know...like the stuff in Whoppers?" Them: "?.....buh...buh...beef?" Me: "Yep...beef...they're incredibly high in protein"

P.S.

Can you figure out a way to lower the calories in a Non fat Chai...I mean...aside from not drinking them at all EVER...I can't seem to figure it out.

Hey there

When is the Chicago triathlon?  I hope you have a fun time with that.

I'm glad you are feeling healthy and slimmer, and your inches are going down.  Definately a good idea to check your body fat with another source.

EP can drive your crazy. Be happy you weren't posting while they were fixing the glitches during the un-announced changes.  Grrr...

Yes, about deled_user_228, what is she doing?  I'm to the point of just having my feelings hurt by her, and not thinking of much else. I guess that happens.  I do hope she is doing ok though.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I'm excited for you and your goal of the triathlon.  Keep us posted.

Looky there...

...you posted another picture.  Love it!

Were you at a wedding?  What is the story behind it?  Please share...

lol

ok...never mind....I just read the comments on the picture. I see you were at a wedding.  duh!!   I know you said you were the heaviest every, but I still love it.

Are you going to post an after all dressed up?

vegan macaroni and chesse

my god.  it is like it is a god send.
thanks. i will tell you how it tastes.
kate.

hallo!

Thanks for the comments and for the recommendation about organic eating.  I'm trying to get there, but still struggling with some of the prices that organic food demands -- especially at places like Whole Foods.

The Chicago triathlon should be really fun.  I actually did it two years ago - the sprint distance.  Swimming in the lake is much different than any practice swim I have ever done.  Good luck with your training & thanks for the laughs... lol seriously the difference between hot and cold?  Here's my stupid comment of the week: I asked my pregnant friend when she was going for her next prenuptial appointment... meant to say prenatal.  Regardless to say, everyone in my office was cracking up at that one.  Oops...
