Nothing.

I lost nothing.

I weighed in at 98.2.

Here i was thinking that last time i weighed in i was 98.5 - so 300g (1/2 a pound) loss. Which isnt great, but is still a loss.

I spent the whole weekend thinking i'd lost 300g and being proud of myself. I even told the boy i'd lost - and i dont talk to him about my weight, although he knows i'm not happy.

Then i come in and check this thing - and it says last week i was 98.2.

I'm shattered! I feel so devasted. Not only because i'd gotten excited about losing, but also because i worked out and ate reasonable well all week, and lost nothing.

I guess it means i just have to work harder.

BAH! I'm so annoyed.

I'm going to weigh in tomorrow, so fingers crossed!

I hope all the bad stuff i've done in the second half of hte week doesnt counteract with all the good i've done in hte first half....

TGIF!

Although, i have to work Sunday, so it's only a one day weekend for me. I get a day off in lieu next week, so it's all okay.

Tomorrow i'm going to spend the day cleaning - we have our real estate agent inspecting our house next week, so it has to be REALLY clean! Am scared they'll kick us out.

Didnt make it to the gym last night either, but i hadnt planned to. Went to dinner with a friend which was GREAT. She had kind of a falling out with our group of friends, so we hadnt caught up for a while. It's unfortunate. But, she and i didnt have any issues - just her with a few people we hang out with, so she's steered clear.

Was great, we laughed and gossiped and talked girly talk for a couple of hours. And without the assistance of wine! I had a ball. So good to do that once in a while.

I had a quick look on calorie king to see what Thai food has the lowest calories - apparently Pad Thai is pretty reasonable. So i ordered one of those but didnt nearly finish it - brought the left overs for hte boy (no gorging, woohoo! v.happy with myself). and i had a couple of spoon fulls of my friends satay curry (with vegies) and rice.

The house was just a tad small. When we got there, we were giggly and excited like school girls - it was so nice. Really, really quiet area by the river, polished floorboards, big bedrooms.

But then i was driving home and it clicked - the people who lived there didnt have a dining table. There'd be no way we can fit our 2 seater and 3 seater couches plus our 6 person (smallish) dining table in the lounge/dining area.

Damnit! But, it's okay. were in no rush, so we're going to take our time.

I feel a bit like i'm going off track. Yesterday i didnt eat great - part of my mind was thinking 'hey! you're so under calories normally, you can afford to eat XYZ'. Plus, i didnt go to the gym. It's almost like when i see the boy, all of my plans disappear - hhaha. If i go to the gym before i get home (ie: before i see him) then im fine. But he met me at the house inspection - so i couldnt just leave him and go to the gym!

So i havent been since Monday, and cant go again tonight because i'm having dinner with a friend. Naughty naughty!

We're going out for Thai. I presume Thai food wouldnt be all that great for you - all that creamey coconut milk. But i couldnt really think of anywhere to go that is a healthier option? Aside from Japanese/sushi. Indian is the same - fatty curries. Italian is the same - yummy evil pasta. I'm too tempted at pubs to have chips.

Any suggestions guys!?

Am i wasting away?

Not too much to report today. Didnt make it to the gym because i had a crappy afternoon, it was POURING with rain and about 10 degrees celcius (50 farenheit). So just felt like laying on the couch watching TV.

Had planned to go tonight (have all the gear packed in my car already!) but, we're inpecting a house (hooray!) at 5.30pm. Which means i'm leaving work a tad early. I might go straight from the house to the gym.

About the house - it looks really cute on the website. It's smaller than ours  - but i want smaller. It's a 2 bedroom apartment, polished floorboards, built in robes. Oh, and has a lock up 1 car garage - a big selling point for the boy. Looks good. FINGERS CROSSED!

Made a good food choice yesterday too - we went to this asian noodle/rice place which conveniently also serves SUSHI. the other girls had fried rice - and i chose sushi. I didnt realise how low in calories it is - i thought it'd be higher with the rice. Amazing! I was stuffed from two rolls (one Tuna and one Salmon - steered clear of the fried chicken) and only ate 99 calories!

Question: Is it bad to eat too little calories? Apparently i'm meant to be around 1400, but the last few days have been heaps under it. Is that bad? I'm full all the time. I'm eating every 2 1/2 hours or so. I'm not starving myself. I still have heaps of energy.

Will check in tomorrow and let you know how i go with the gym/house situation.

I need to move it move it.....

On a couple of levels - i need to move move move my butt (of course!) but i think i also need to move house.

We're renting.

I think we've realised our house is a bit big for us. It's a 3 bedroom, huge backyard house, and, well, it's just the two of us. It's a bit run down too, ie: old carpet, and i think we can get better value for money if we move somewhere a bit smaller - a 2 bedroom apartment or something.

Plus, our real estate agent sent us a letter yesterday saying they want to inspect the house next week - i dont know why i'm so scared,  - our house is fine, it just needs a bit of a tidy up. We havent done any real damage to it. BUT I'M STRESSED! I dont like the idea of them looking through my house. Even though, really, it aint my house.

We've been there a year and a half and they've not inspected it once. Considering the rental market is so tight, i think they're doing it so they can decide to put the rent up in price.

Plus, i think i need the symbolic change. Considering so much shit has gone on in the last few months, i want something new - a symbolic fresh start.

Went to the gym last night which was good. Did 20 minutes of couch to 5k then 10 minutes on the eplileptical cross trainer thingo. I'm still kind of struggling with week 1 of the couch to 5k. I get to the last 5 minutes and really struggle - i get bored and sore and almost cant battle through.

Ate pretty well yesterday too, with the exception of a small piece of cheesecake. it was really small - like two mouthfuls. And it had fresh berries on top - they're healthy! Ate every 2 1/2 hours or so.

It's been so long!

Well, it feels like it anyway. I havent blogged since Thursday (our time) and it's now Monday morning - forever!

GUESS WHAT?

I weighed in... and have lost half a kg (approx 1.1 lbs)! I know it's not a huge amount, but i feel so healthy, happy and motivated right now.

It's amazing what a difference eating well and exercising occasionally can make. I feel like i have so much more energy, and i dont want to sit on the couch. I want to clean and make food and exercise and go out.

The weekends are my biggest weakness - we tend to buy fast food a lot. I guess i've just been making better choices. On Friday night rather than getting fish and chips i made a brown rice & chicken curry. On Saturday for lunch, the boy had a pie from he bakery, and i bought a bagel and made a salmon and cream cheese bagel. Sunday, i had a ham and cheese toasted sandwich (the boy had bacon and eggs on toast) for breakfast, and lunch was chicken breast, avocado and bacon burger from Burger Republic (kind of healthy burgers - here), which is better than having KFC as most of his team had.

Next week i'm going to prepare better food to take to the football. The biggest wrong i had was not eating enough during the day - i had brekkie around 8am, then didnt eat lunch until about 2pm. Naughty!

I went to the gym on Thursday night for about 30 minutes - 20 minutes of couch to 5k and about 10 minutes on the epileptical machine. Saturday morning i did the same.

Tonight i originally planned to do weights with the boy, but something came up and i'm just going to go for a run again. He goes to the gym a couple of times a week to do mainly weights (on top of his football - 2 training sessions and 1 game per week!), so i'm going to try and go and do weights with him.

Fitness plan for the week:

  • Gym tonight - 20 minutes couch to 5k, 10 minutes on epileptical machine
  • Gym tomorrow - Combat class (woohoo!)
  • Gym Thursday - 20 minutes couch to 5k, 10 minutes ep)
  • Gym Saturday - hopefully weights with the boy

Food wise - we're eating as per the CSIRO diet. Am eating every 2 1/2 hours - trying to get protein in at every meal.

  • Chicken, avocado and cheese sandwich on light rye (approx = 230 231 32 81 = 574 ?!?!?)

Back on the road again...

So i'm back home now, which is GREAT. Means i can adjust back to 'normal' life.

Am going grocery shopping tonight, and will buy some stuff to start Book 2 of the CSIRO diet on Monday.

Am also going to go to the gym tonight - not for long, just to start the couch to 5k plan again.

Sorry i didnt blog yesterday - it just completely slipped my mind. I posted messages in everyone elses blogs - just not mine!

I've been absolutely ravenous the last couple of days. Especially today. I dont really know why - i've eaten my normal food, and arent exercising any more. Maybe my monthly friend is about to visit again - damnit!

According to the urn the fat feed the muscle book i'm reading, i need to be around 1400 - 1800 calories per day. I need to also eat some protein (ideally animal based) per meal. So, with the help of calorie king i'm going to kind of try to count some calories. i'm REALLY bad at this stuff, so i'm going to TRY. that's my commitment to myself.

I still have it in my head that if i make good (and predominantly natural - as little human interference as possible) food choices, and exercise more than i'm at now, then i'll lose weight.

What do you think? Are counting calories a necessity?

I'm also going to weigh in tonight *fingers crossed!*

PS: Carmens muesli bars are the BEST Aly, and they're healthy-ish and keep you full. full of loose nuts, YUM! 197 calories, but are basically like a meal nutrition wise. Sometimes i have them as just brekky

Food eaten Wednesday::

  • 2 weetbix (107 calories -wow, thats low!) skim milk 41 calories)
  • 2 rice cakes (about 80 in total) with low fat cream cheese(about 80... so about 160 in total)
  • Weight Watchers penne carbonara (think around 307 calories - 5 pts apparently)
  • 2 mini sausage rolls party size (116 EACH! oh my god - so 232)
  • Green thai chicken curry w/ noodles, chicken & vegies (blame the boy on the noodle thing, i usually have rice - he's a weirdo! but he cooked it so i'm not complaining - about 480 calories)
  • hand ful salt and vinegar chips (around 20g so 104 calories)
  • about 1.5 litres water (does water have calories?!)

TOTAL: about 1431. Woohoo!

I actually cant believe it's that low. I ate chips and mini sausage rolls, and wasnt hungry at all!

Plan for rest of today (it's now midday):

  • Go for a bit of a walk at lunch time (around 15 minutes or so - better than nothing!)
  • Do grocery shopping
  • 30 minutes at gym

Is that all i do with my life? is life meant to be so consumed with work?

Well, why is it then?

I've been in my first full time job for about 18 months now, and i must tell you, it's been a bit of a let down. Not the actual job - i love it. But the fact that you feel like you wake up, go to work, go to sleep, wake up, go to work, go to sleep.

Hrrmmm i guess it's all a means to and ends though, right? Work allows me to buy stuff, go places etc etc.

Someone sent me a chain email today about star signs. It was actually kinda funny and cute. I'm a Taurus, and apparently I'm:
