Before After

Tuesday reason.

Have decided to post a reason why i want to lose weight every-now-and-then.

The idea was inspired by a great blog i was reading - dont ya' just love the EP community!?

I want to sit on the train on the way to work and not be scared of taking up more than my seat

How many days away is Friday?

Too many days away!

It's Tuesday morning and i'm buggered already.

Found out yesterday that my boy is basically being forced to take 2 weeks leave in 2 weeks time. Long story short, part of his work is being transferred to another state (he's staying locally) but it means the whole place will have to shut down for 2 weeks while they move.

Catch is, he doesnt have 2 weeks annual leave - only about 3 days. Which means he has to take basically 2 weeks of UNPAID leave, and they onyl gave us 2 weeks notice. Bastards.

It's okay on a way - because it means we're going to go away for a week or so just to get away from everything. But still, you like to budget for those kind of things.

I'm so lucky my work is accomodating.

Didnt go to the gym last night because we had a meeting for the boys gridiron club.

Am going to a combat class tonight though. So thats 45 minutes of working out. Tomorrow i plan to do the c25k (day two, week one!)

At reasonably well yesterday, couple of splurges though. an AMAZING scone with jam and cream for morning tea (i couldnt resist, scones are like one of my favourite foods) and i had a piece of pita bread with hommus before i went to bed (stupid, didnt need it - but not too evil).

NB: Turns out i was way over in calories. If i hadnt have eaten the scone and pita i would've been fine.

I need to learn to stop medicating myself with food. I've improved massively, but when im grumpy/sad/mad i still automatically reach for the fridge. The difference is before i'd get my hands on chocolate, chips, white bread (a big weakness for me) or ice cream. Now the worst thing i can find is Hommus and pita bread!

Thoughts going out to Kellymarie - hope the sickness/work situation gets better real soon.

Food eaten Monday:

  • Carmans muesli bar (197)
  • Scone with jam and cream (about 300)
  • 2 slices of light rye with turkey breast and light cheese (229 78 79 = 386)
  • 2 corn thins with cream cheese (44 50 = 94)
  • Mandarin (50)
  • Home made pasta bake with lean beef mince, zucchini, carrot, red onion, tomato (i reckon about 400)
  • pita with hommus (165 60 = 225)
  • Total: 1652 - about 400 over.

YAY!!!!!!

I'VE LOST WEIGHT!

HAHAH i'm so happy.

I went to the gym saturday morning and weighed in, not expecting any change.. but i'd lost almost another kg (2lbs) in about two weeks. So happy! I guess i was mainly happy because i wasnt expecting any different... but aha!

So my total is now about 3kgs (6lbs) which im wrapped with, considering i havent reallllllly been sacrificing or working my guts out. So yeah, happy day Saturday!

I did about 30 minutes of weights with the boy on Saturday morning, and then did my couch to 5k sunday morning.

Kind of pigged out a bit last night though, but not too badly. Had the most AWESOME souvlaki (you guys might call them kebabs?) and the BEST tasting Gelati i've ever eaten. Yum! So worth it.

Not gymming tonight because i have a meeting at 7pm for Gridiron. Will go to a combat class tomorrow though.

Hope you're well - thanks for your support. I really, really, appreciate it.

  • Pork dumpling (220)
  • Total: 1223ish

Quick quick post

Hey guys,

just posting raelly quickly because it's the end of hte day and i have to go home from work... hooray!

Didnt do any exercise on the weekend. big 'ole fat me. Am going for a run tonight at the gym though, so feel a bit better about that.

Did make pretty good food choices over the weekend though - made home made pizzas on friday (heheh Aly! i couldnt stop thinking about them!) then on saturday i had a muesli bar, sheppards pie for lunch (bit evil) and then baked fish for dinner. Went to the movies and didnt even have popcorn, woohoo! And then Sunday i took my own food to the football rather than pigging out on crap - had a light rye sandwich with chicken breast and avocado and cheese. Had subway for tea rather than icky KFC too. Am v.proud of myself!

Will chat to you guys more tomorrow - mwah!

I forgot to add...

Is actually the TOM for me too. I HATE it with a passion. I usually only get it like once every 3 or 4 months, but this time it's been twice in about 7 weeks... so hopefully all is okay.

Grrr! I hope it goes away soon.

Bad day yesterday....

Food wise. I lost all self control and ate a big fat juicey appley danish. They're like a zillion calories, and i didnt really enjoy it, but i ate it.

I'm finding my food is slowly getting not as good (haha what top grammar), at the same time as i'm not exercising.

Oh no!

So, need to cut back my calories about another 100 per day, and also need to get my butt into gear again. Am going to the gym tomorrow morning. New beginning X500.

Dunno whether i should weigh in tomorrow either.

What do you guys think?

I havent weighed in 2 weeks now. First week of that was relatively good - gym most days, eating well. This week havent been to the gym at all and have been eating rather averagely.

Oh, and on another note... get this for freakiness. Both Incomplete and Kelly Marie and I have the same middle names! Spelt the same way, everything. How rare! I thought it was odd to have a middle name spelt Marie rather than Maree, but alas... extrapounds IS good for something!

Have nothing planned tomorrow which is great. We're going to see Shrek 3 either tonight or tomorrow, am going to the gym tomorrow morn and will get my eyebrows waxed. Also need to do the groceries and a bit of cleaning (hopefully the boy most of hte cleaning).

Sunday is football AGAIN. Can't wait till the season is over and we can have our weekends back. We're playing at the end of hte earth again this weekend - so like a 2 hour trip there and 2 hour trip back. BLAH!

With love,

SpArKLy_StAr

Food eaten yesterday:

  • Carmens muesli bar (197 calories)
  • Danish (368 - my god.)
  • 2 small bagels with relatively healthy fillings - ham, cheese, lettucey stuff (around 156 in total)
  • Turkey chops for dinner (yum!) (408)
  • oven baked roast potatoes (176)

Total: 1305ish

Hey guys,

sorry it's been so long since i last posted.

I've had a bit of an extra long weekend - took friday off work, weekend sat and sun, monday was a public holiday and took tuesday off work - so back today - Wednesday.

Weekend was relaxing, but fairly average when it comes to working out and food. We had a number of 'projects' we wanted to get done, so that took priority over going to the gym. And i'm glad i did it.

Friday i finally used the voucher my boy gave me for valentines day - a massage and a facial which totalled 2 1/2 hours. DIVINE! I then went shopping in the afternoon and bought a couple of cute tops. I did a bodystep class at the gym on Friday morning too. Man i was sore!

Our friends recently bought a cafe and on Saturday we helped them repaint it. I made a semi good food choice - had a chicken sandwich rather than a pie and chips as everyone else was eating. We then went to a trivia night that evening and i pigged out - ate way too much bad food.

Sunday we went to a Celtic Fair in a seaside town near us. It was great fun. Lots of walking around, spending time with the boy. I really enjoy that wandering together. I made a good lunch choice too - saladas with ham and low fat cheese.

Monday we cleaned out our spare room - it was AWESOME! So refreshing. We had boxes and boxes of stuff in there that we just hadnt unpacked when we moved in 2 years ago. It was so cleansing to get rid of all that stuff.

Then Tuesday i did some householdy stuff - did the grocery shopping, vaccumed, did some washing etc.

So, havent been to the gym since Friday. I wont make it tonight either as i have a work dinner, and may not make it tomorrow night either because i have meetings until late.

This week has been a total write off! But that's okay. I'm not getting myself down about it - these things happen. Just need to get back on when i can.

Saturday is my usual weigh in day, but i didnt make it to the gym. I'm weighing in fairly strictly - has to be saturday AM at the gym. This means that there'll be no other factors that will alter the reading ie: wont be using different scales/weighing at different time of day.

So i guess i'll wait 'till Saturday coming to weigh in again. Dont expect any change.

Tonight my battle will be dinner. Going to a cute (GREAT) italian rest. I wonder what my best food choice will be? I'll order fish if i can, but otherwise a red pasta sauce dish. DAMNIT, i love creamey white pasta!

What about Lasagne or Canneloni? is that as good as a regular pasta dish? Mmmm i want canneloni now.

Hope you are all well - i miss you very muchly!

Will blog more regularly again.

Thans guys,

SpArKLy_STAr

Combat is the schizzle!

So last night i went to a combat class at the gym. Was good fun - very glad i went. I'm a little bit sore in the arm region today, but that's mainly because i used muscles i dont usually use.

Have decided though that i DEFINITELY need a new sports bra. This one just isnt going to cut it. My back was sore halfway through the class yesterday and it si a bit today, i guess from all that jumping and boobage moving. My friend said cross over is best for high impact stuff... any suggestions girls?! I'm a D cup (is that a bit personal!??!) if that's of any assistance - so not massive, but enough to put a massive strain on my back.

Nothing planned for tonight - mad cleaning the house for inspection tomorrow. We don't own - we rent, but our lease is up and i think they want to boost the rent. We're half looking for somewhere else to live - not just better $$ value, but i want something smaller and also in a different suburb. Ours is a very family type suburb close to the beach, but further from town - probably adds another 20 minutes to my trip each day. So i want to live a bit closer to town.

Then on Thursday i'll go to the gym - maybe do a body jam class.

Am making a concious effort to eat more vegies too - i HATE vegies, with a passion. So this is a big deal for me.

I have an extra long weekend this weekend - it's a public holiday on monday here, but i've taken Friday and Tuesday off too - so i'll have fri, sat, sun, mon, tues off - hooray! V.much neede break.

Have a great day guys,

SpArKLy_StAr

Food eaten Tuesday:

  • About 1.5 litres water
  • Carmens muesli bar (197 calories)
  • fibre plus cereal with skim milk (158 41 = 199)
  • can of tuna in spring water on high fibre bread (78 182 = 260
  • Nestle all natural mixed berry yoghurt (125)
  • Kiwi fruit (52)
  • Apple (72)
  • Oven baked chicken breast no skin (157)
  • Carrots & snowpeas (about 50)
  • Total: 1309

THANKYOU.

An extra big thankyou to everyone who replied to my last post. You're all right - and i should listen to the advice i give to others! Losing weight is a long process, and i shouldnt run away when it doesnt immediately provide results.

It just REALLY annoys me (and i expressed this to the boy last night) that he can eat well for two weeks and exercise a couple of times and 5kgs (approx 11 lbs) just falls off him.

IT DRIVES ME MAD!

I know it's not meant to be easy, but bah... i wish it was!

So, it's now Tuesday but i'll do my regular synopsis of the weekend that usually gets done on a Monday.

We had a fairly lazy night Friday. Stayed at home, watched TV (i was exhausted - travelling so far to work really takes it out of you). We ate lamb chops and vegies.

Saturday i went to the gym bright and early - 20 minutes on treadmill and 10 minutes on the stepper. After all my whinging about the weight not coming off, i actually feel like my ability to do cardio is getting better.

Then i did the grocery shopping and we mad cleaned the house for our house inspection Thursday. I mowed the lawn which took about an hour. Phew! that's hard work. Breakfast was a banana and a piece of toast, lunch was a subway pork roll on wheat with some salad, dinner was kangaroo steak and *gulp* takeaway fried chips. And you know what? They werent even that good. I would have been just as satisfied with roast vegies, but i was simply too lazy.

Sunday i had a work conference, so sat on my butt all day while the boy went to play gridiron. Unfortunately, during the first play he was tackled pretty fiercely and hurt his butt (hahah i know it sounds funny... but he hurt his tailbone). So he's a bit sore.

Breakfast was two pieces of toast, lunch was some mini party pies and sausage rolls (didnt have a choice - it was that or potato wedges or quiche) and dinner was 2 sushi rolls - one with tuna the other with beef.

Yesterday, i sat on my ass when i got home from work. I'm going to do a combat class at the gym tonight - so straight from work to gym, then home to do some more cleaning for house inspection/cook dinner/make lunches while the boy is at gridiron training.

Have a great week guys - goodluck... and THANKYOU
