Before After

Back to normal life...

It's amazing how quickly normal life comes back and you forget about your holiday. Was VERY hard to wake up this morning - i hit the snooze button twice and almost missed my train. I cant wait until winter is over and daylight savings starts (don't know if Americans have that.... but in summer we move our clocks forward an hour so we get an extra hour of sunlight). It's really hard to wake up at 6am and it's still dark.

But back with worklife comes routine which is something i've realised i need on my weightloss journey. I need to plan ahead to ensure i dont have any excuse to slip up. With that means cooking dinner and making lunch a night in advance - that way i'm not reaching for a sugary milk drink or takeaway.

Realise i had a fairly average day yesterday foodwise. I ate a choc chip muffin. FOR BREAKFAST. and then i had a scone with cream and jam for morning tea. I LOVE scones. I tried really, really hard to resist, but i couldnt. Then, i had home made pizza for dinner (not too bad) and then i had a mcdonalds choc fudge sundae for desert. ARGH! Bad. I so have to go to the gym tonight now.

I think i'm going to copy my EP besties Kel and Aly and slightly modify my goals. Although my overall goal is 80kgs (176lbs) by xmas (so basically a 20kg or 45 lbs loss), i want to get down to 90kgs (198lbs) by September 22.

The main reason for this is that it's the boy and my 2 1/2 year anniversary, and, well, i cant think of any other special dates before xmas. SO, it's a good one to focus on. It'll be about a 10kg loss (22lbs)

So:

Goal 1: down to 90kgs by September 22 2007

Goal 2: down to 80kgs by December 1 2007

They're completely attainable. Easily.

Life is good right now. My break did wonders for my brain. I'm relaxed and HAPPY!

Better not get too far ahead of myself...hehe

Love,

SpArKLes

Goal for the day: I dont want this to sound terrible because i'm not trying to insult this woman at all, and i'm sure she was a lovely person... but... On the plane on the way back from my holiday there was a lady who needed an extender on her seatbelt because it didnt fit her. At first she tried to hide it - pretend her seatbelt was already on. Then the air hostess (who was gorgeous and tiny) went "oh you havent got your belt on" and made a bit of a deal about it, came back with the extender. Then later in the flight another attendant came over and said to the woman and the random people sitting either side of her "there's a spare seat up here if someone would like to sit there"...

Now, i'm sure (and hoping) none of these airline staff meant any malice. But gosh, poor woman. Not only was she probably really uncomfortable in her seat, but she probably felt incredibly humiliated too.

I dont ever want to get like that. I dont ever want to get so big that my seatbelt doesnt fit on a plane. I felt so bad for the poor woman.

Food eaten yesterday:

  • Fibre plus cereal (158 cals) and skinny milk (41 cals)
  • 2 slices light rye bread (163) small tin of tuna (67) Tomato paste (18)
  • Pizza (245ish)
  • Choc chip muffin (476 - so not worth it. Wasnt nearly that good)
  • scone (128) jam (40) cream (33)
  • Carmans muesli bar (197)
  • Popcorn (54)
  • Mcdonalds sundae (328)

Total: 1950 - meant to be around 1560. I did no exercise. I ate 60 grams of fat. BAD!

Routines..

I go off the rails when I'm out of my routines - school holidays - I ate two weeks worth of absolute crap. I'm talking about four pizzas (ordered!) over the two weeks, plus countless other junk.

Back at school? I had a perfect week last week, food wise. It's crazy.

At least you didn't eat a whole Maccas meal.. like a certain someone last night.. *cough cough*

great plan

Your goals are an awesome start.  Funny thing is I did the exact same thing.  I am recomitting!  I need to lose 20 more pounds and want get with the program!

Have a great day!

Mini Goals

Indeed, you'll likely experience greater success with intermediate goals.  You can do it!

Great Goals!

and very attainable.  I think I need to do the same and set a few short-term goals.

It's so weird thinking that it's dark and cold where you are and it's blazing hot here.  We had daylight savings in March and got our extra hour of daylight.  It definitely helps you to get up in the morning.

Mini goals!

I love my new mini goals. Things seem like they're within reach, that way.

Also, EP bestie, I am an avid scone maker. I have a recipe for LOW-FAT cheese and onion scones if you're interested. I can email it to you when I get home this afternoon.

I wish Queensland had daylight savings in summer... if anyone needs it, it's us...

Great goals

I think you have planned for yourself very healthy and attainable goals. I wish you luck in your efforts to succeed them!

I feel bad for the woman on the plane. :-(
