Before After

giovedì

Apparently that means Thursday in Italian.

Had dinner with my friend last night which was great fun. History of this is that she and i used to live together with another girl. Had a bit of a fall out when we went our seperate ways - i've caught up semi-regularly with the girl i had dinner with, and not at all with the other girl.

Our lives have progressed in fairly similar ways. At first thought you'd think that was normal, but so many of our friends are still doing the same things they were doing 3 years ago. And that's okay - each to their own. I'm not judging your life choice, and i dont expect them to judge mine.

So our lives changed similarly - we both met boys, moved in with them, talking about moving away/buying houses etc around the same time. So it's all good.

Pub was nice. It was one of my favourite pubs - great food at REALLY good prices, good atmosphere, pretty decor. Nice.

UNTIL.... a guy i used to kind of date/see turned up. We hooked up like, 4 years ago? I saw him, but completely avoided making eye contact or acknowledging him. I know he noticed me and was looking at me - and i felt so hot too (if i do say so myself). Like straight from the office, knee length tight-ish skirt, white shirt, knee high boots, stockings.

Didnt even mention him walking in to my friend - so unsure if he saw him or not. That was probably a good thing - she didnt really like him much, largely due to how the ''thing'' with him ended.

Basically, he was a guy that couldnt keep his mouth shut and thought he'd be a bigger man if he told people around him how great he was in the sack (debatable!) / what was going on with us.

And besides,

I'm happy now.

I'm really, really happy in my relationship.

It's been over 2 years, and i still get butterflies in my belly.

I'm happy.

...... but still. It's always a bit weird to see someone you had a 'thing' with.

So then we left and i sped away in my new (equally hot) car.

Food wise was meh, but one positive thing was that i didnt gorge myself. I left some stuff on the plate. I think i'm scarred from a childhood of my mum telling me not to waste food / you need to eat all your dinner to get desert type stuff.

I had the porterhouse (well, 3/4 of it) and some chips - only about a hand ful. And a couple of pieces of garlic bread. It was great!

Thanks for all the messages peoples, i really, really enjoy them!

Oh, and i have to buy an engagement present for someone i dont know (workmate of the boy, and we all know how boys are with buying presents). They already live together, so assume they have housey stuff already. Any suggestions?!

SpArKLes.

  • 1 up and go drink
  • Carmens muesli bar

Engagement Present

Gift certificates are always an option - they're less personal, but then you know they'll get something they want!  I've gotten them for restaurants before, which can be a nice touch, if you know a place they like . . .

Cool

Wow - I love the "old flame" story.  I'll bet he was hitting himself on the head for letting you get away!  I'm glad you were looking and feeling hot - that must have been so cool!

As for the engagement gift, I too would go with a gift certificate.  I guess it depends how much you want to spend and how much you want them to know how much you spent.  If you have time to shop you could always pick up a knick knack that would fit in with any decor.  Good luck!

Have a wonderful Thursday!
