Before After

What was i saying before? world against me?

Have decided that the whole world is against me. Officially. Full stop. I must've done something in a previous life (or this one) and have screwed myself over.

Car decided to die again on the weekend. AGAIN.

Friday night, driving 70kms home with the boyfriend (luckily) at 1am, and BAM... nothing. No accelorator. Car wouldnt go. Called RACV, needed a tow truck because they wouldnt look at it on the freeway. So waited an hr and a half for a tow truck, finally got home at about 3am.

Turns out i have a broken timing belt. Sound serious? not really. $500 or so (so yeah, bad, but not ohmygodi'mgoingtodie bad).

Here's the catch... if it snapped and wrecked my engine.... it's going to cost big $$. ie: $3,000.

So, you'd think just ONCE i could be lucky? No.... course not! It's going to cost me $3,000!!!

So, not only did i not have a car all weekend and had to stay at home the ENTIRE TIME, but i'm $3,000 worse off for it.

So ultra depressed again. I know it's just money, but still. It just feels like .... i wonder what i've done to deserve all this shit in my life.

WHY CANT THINGS JUST GO OK FOR AT LEAST  COUPLE OF MONTHS!?

things come in 3's. So, maybe after 3 bad things you will get a really good thing!!

Sorry to hear it

At least you didn't crash your car, right?  My friend's brother was driving here from Halifax Friday night with their cousin.  After 9 hours at the wheel, her brother fell asleep and totalled the car.  He got off with a broken thumb, but the cousin wasn't wearing her seatbelt and ended up with a broken femur, pelvis, jaw, and lacerated kidney, amoung other injuries.  Now THEY were having a bad day.

Not to trivialize, of course, I'm just glad you're alright.  I hope the amount doesn't put a huge strain on your finances.

Know how you feel

One day late last year, I had driven past work, been and got the mail (my daily ritual, lucky me), and had just made it back onto the main road, when it started to cough and splutter and bunnyhop. I had peak hour traffic sitting up my ass, and I just managed to nurse it back off the main road into the shopping centre carpark, where it stalled... while I dug around for my phone... my mobile was nearly flat, and I managed to get an SOS out to my dad, and that was it. I was stuck in the carpark, late for work, and my phone was dead so I couldn't call and let them know. I sat there with my hazard lights on, and the security guard saw me, and kept on walking right past. Bastard. Parents came to the rescue, and I was only 10 min late.

What caused all this chaos? A $12 rotor button.

I really feel for you! Sometimes even a tiny bit of plastic can wreak havoc on your wheels. Just think, eventually you'll have replaced everything, and nothing will make you break down!

Cars suck. They're great when they run properly, but if anything goes wrong, they're a pain in the butt to get going again!

Hope you're cruisin' the streets again soon!

:(

I am SO sorry to hear about your bad car issues. My old car blew up several times, head gaskets, radiator, anything and everything that COULD blow up, did. $2000 later I sold the car (for $2000, omg!) and wouldn't you believe the person I sold it to has had absolutely nothing go wrong with it in two years?

Typical!

*HUGS* I hope you get some good luck soon.

Ick

I'm really sorry to hear about that. That would bring me down too. Is your car worth repairing something for $3,000? I had an older Saab when I was in college and just getting the oil changed cost $500. I have no idea how I did it. But it sure was nice to get rid of that thing. Hope your week gets better.
