Restaurant Victory!
Day 6 and chugging along. Thankfully I am so busy the days seem to fly by!
Last night I went with Y to his lecture at Kings College (well, I sat in a nearby cafe and nursed a soy latte while he went) and after we decided to try out a famous oyster bar/seafood place off Regent Street. I was so excited- fish is on the "ok" menu for this atkins diet, so I was stoked about all the fish I was gonna chomp. Well, after drooling over the menu, I ordered the fried plaice with eggmayo- perfect, with green beans and bacon. Score! I was so excited to find a meal with no carbs and couldn't wait to tuck in.
So...it came and the plaice was a bunch of little BREADED GOUJONS. Crap. So even though I was DYING to eat them, I pushed them onto Y's plate and ate my beans, eggmayo and lettuce. Then, thankfully, Y had ordered some scallops too (6.50 EACH can you believe it??) so I ate 3 of those. I was full and satisfied and didn't ruin my 5 days of hard work. AND GUESS WHAT? There was a basket of FREE mixed bread on the table, with fresh salty butter and I managed NOT TO EAT ONE MORSEL. As a former (well, rehabbing) bread addict, this in itself is something worthy of a medal. For serious.
Anyway we ate, and then walked to the Tube (after a soy coffee at another place) and I ended up doing 9700 steps on top of gym and diet, so I think I should be losing, losing, losing. I hope it just isn't water weight, though. I did find some ketostix at the shop and according to the results, my body is in ketosis, which is good I suppose. I tested Y's pee this morning to make sure they weren't bullshit and his came out negative whereas mine comes out neon purple, so...I think they work. Gross!
Today is the last day of the gym for the week (Sundays are days of rest, ha) and after I am going to try this recipe called a Mock Danish- apparently by microwaving eggs and cream cheese and a bit of splenda and cinnamon, you can recreate a "bready" Danish. We'll see. Sounds a but dubious to me. I watched a video of a dude preparing it on YouTube and I couldn't focus on anything but how retarded he was. Like seriously the goofiest mofo you ever saw- stumbling through a recipe with 3 ingredients that basically requires microwaving. Tough job, I guess he was overwhelmed. Pffff.
Anyway I am off to the gym- weights and cardio today GROSS.
A bientot!
