Day 31 (Jingle Bells!)

Heya everyone!

Seems like everyone is 10x more busy now with the holidays around the corner!  People racing home after work, packing the mall parking lots, stuffing their faces with treats.  It's that time of year! haha

This past week has been crazy (and I've been quite sloppy) - I had two finals yesterday, so the end of last week and this past weekend were quite lazy.  While I was exercising my brain jamming it full with Forensic Psychology and Anicient Law Codes ... I wasn't exercising my body.  To be frank, the most exercise I got this weekend was wiggling my kneas while sitting at my desk and/or walking to and from the kitchen to get snacks!  Horrible.  With that being said, I lost .5 of a pound haha  Scares me that the potential IS there - I just need the will to find it!

So 177.5 ... cool?

After my two Finals yesterday, I came home changed and went straight to vball ... it was a good night - worked up a sweat, so I guess it was productive.

Hope you're all having awesome days ... I miss checking out your blogs and seeing your progress.  I'm sure it's awesome and better than mine, so whatever you're doing ... keep it up!

DAY 23 (WI #3 on Day 21)

Hey everyone - hope everything is going well!  The past week has been kinda slow - didn't get as much exercise in as I would have liked.  But there's only room for improvement!

I weighed-in on Friday ... I'm 178 still.  Oh well - proves that if you don't put effort in, nothing happens!  Well since the weight isn't gonna remove itself, I guess I can't sit back and watch haha

Hope everyone has an awesome weekend!

Day 18 (slaaaacking!)

Hey everyone ... sorry it's been awhile.  Things are busy as usual.  Just wanted to come on here and give a quick update.

I think I love food too much ... I can't get enough. I swear if there was an award for loving food, I'd  get it.  I can eat and eat and eat and eat ... for ever!  When I'm full, I could probably eat more!

Either way, I thought I'd fill you all in with that haha

For the next couple weeks I'm going to be busy, so I won't be able to update as often as I'd like.  I'll still do my Friday Weigh-Ins ... and try to post here and there.  But, it won't be every day!

Until Christmas Break!!!!

Day 14 (WI #2)

After a busy Day of doing nothing, I got around to weighing in! haha  I'm 178.5 ... missed my goal again - arggg!

Oh well, at least the direction is right lol  I really want to go out and run because I know I can go further and longer ... but the weather is getting pretty cold and running in the snow isn't as easy as it would seem (not to mention, could be quite dangerous!)

We'll see how this week goes ... I want to try and be consistent with a morning AND evening workout.  Yesterday I was angry about something, and I swore I could have ran forever haha for some reason, the anger was like extra fuel? who knows.

I hope you're all excited about the weekend!

Cheers,

-Ryan

Day 11 (fun)

I just got home from volleyball and had a shower ... Today's games were quite competitive ... lot's of spiking, blocking, digging!  But the more competitive, the more fun it is (not to mention, the workout is better!).  I could taste the salty sweat all over my face haha (ewwww, right?)

Kinda nervous about Friday ... big weigh-in numero DEUX!  I said last week that I want to drop to 177 by this Friday ... so let's hope I get it! Fingers crossed!

For dinner I had some refried beans in tortillas ... it was good.  I did have some salsa and sour cream on the side, so it was kinda cheating!

Anyways, I hope your Days were great!  Here's a shoutout to Tatum'sMOMMY ... everyone should tell her to relax and not worry about her upcoming surgery :)

-Ryan

P.S. - is there a lot of spam on EP?  I keep seeing people's blogs about being 'recreated for God' ... if it's not spam, that's cool - all the power to them on their journey!

Day 10 (sorry!)

 Hey buddies!

Sorry it's been awhile ... crazy stuff going down in Canadaville.  This past weekend was a slop-show ... however, I'm proud to say I did well!  Friday evening was my best bud's birthday bash (BBBBBB lol) ... While there were cold drinks and junk food everywhere, I managed to stand my ground and just enjoy the time with friends!  I ate a couple chips, and by couple I meant like 3 (honestly!) I had a few crackers as well ... AND I didn't use any of the cheese dip stuff.  I had a great dinner before hand, so I knew I was full and satisfied ... usually I would just keep eating since it was a party and stuff, but the discipline kicked in!

Saturday was my Sister's big engagement party ... we had like 40 people over and a sit down dinner ... again, while it was a party, I managed to eat right and not over eat for the heck of it!  I didn't drink any alcohol ... however, I did have a TINY bit of champaign for the toast ... but that doesn't count, right?

As for exercise ... again, the weekend was a 'write-off' - however, I did get some exercise by setting up large tables and chairs and moving furniture up and down the stairs.  I really wanted to get out on Sunday and sweat a bit ... but the only form of sweating I did was from the nervous last-minute studying for an Exam I had Monday lol  I did make it out to volleyball Yesterday!  Had some fun, but my 'game' wasn't there ... kept making stupid mistakes (e.g., spiking into the net, serving out of bounds ect) ... I'm gonna get out to volleyball Tomorrow evening - promise!  I'd rather get some exercise playing sports I love then walk an endless route on a treadmill staring at an unfininshed wall haha

Either way, I hope your weekends were great and the start to this week is going well!  Keep it up everyone!

-Ryan

P.S.  Have you guys ever tried that 'faken bacon' stuff? or can suggest any vegitarian meat? haha I'm having a hard time being creative!

Day 6 (First Weigh In)

Howdy partners (yes, I just saw a commercial with a cowboy in it!)

Hope your Fridays are going awesome ... it's almost the weekend!

So Today I stepped on the scale ... and ... I lost 1 pound! hahaha  I guess it's time to step up the intensity a bit.  I found myself slacking near the end of the week, so at least I know I can improve.  It's getting very cold here now, so I think I'm going to head to a sports store and see if I get buy some under-armour style clothing to keep me warm ... I'd really like to start jogging outside.  I think I'd be able to go longer and faster if I wasn't staring at an unfinished basement wall and the 'time' on the treadmill!

So here's the plan my friends:  By next Friday, I want to be down to 177lbs ... possible?  I think so.  And I'm not going to starve myself.  Just good balanced meals, hard work ethic and ... commitment.  It'll happen!

-Ryan

P.S. This weekend is going to be tricky!  Tonight is my best bud's Birthday ... and Tomorrow is my Sister's engagement party ... dun dun dunnnnn

Day 5 (Coffee...)

Hope Wednesdays is wicked for you all so far!

My Day has been ... well, a continuum of the one before!  I technically haven't slept since yesterday ... but my body hasn't realized it yet (uh oh!)

I was writing my research paper last night after dinner when I took a quick break to flip on the tube.  Before I knew it, I was watching the Presidential election.  haha, It's weird how interested I was.  Here in Canada we just had an election (couple weeks ago) and I didn't care ... same old thing; our 'leaders' are plain-jane, and there is no hype.  In my opinion, the US election was awesome!  You had two well-spoken leaders who clearly have personality haha

Anyways, I missed my plan to sneak in some cardio last night because I was spent between writing the paper and waiting for Obama to speak as president-elect (the fellow took his sweet ass time to come on TV haha)  As the night turned into morning, I just kept plucking away at the paper.  I finished at 6:30am, and went to bed.  Woke up shortly later and head back to uni.  Therefore, I totally missed my morning workout as well.

I feel kinda disappointed in myself.  I was really looking towards getting it all in.  So it's kind of a 'bummer' not following through when I should.  Actually, I have some free time now ... so instead of writing about more useless stuff, I'm gonna go for a run!  Here's a quite summary of the day:

-ate well
-parked far in parkinglot at uni ... so had a decent walk to class
-still golden with no 'meat'
-scratch the above, I ate fish for dinner lol
-time for run

I hope you all had productive days!  Keep up the awesome work everyone ... I'll be sure to check out your blogs and comment VERY soon ... first need to run, then shower, then...

ZzZzzzzzZzz

-Ryan

P.S. I did finish my paper and handed it in on time ... I think it went okay!?

P.P.S. I'll be doing a 'weigh-in' on Friday ... so we'll see how much progress was made (or loss? dun dun dunnnnn!)

Day 4 (Part Deux)

I just changed my blog settings because the old one wasn't working right ... colours were off and stuff.  Props to TatumsMom for pointing it out!

An update about my Day:

When I got home from Uni ... I found myself rummaging through the cupboards looking for food (like I always do when I get home lol) so I decided to switch it up a little.  I remember hearing someone mention that taking a piece of hard candy when you're hungry helps ... something about it making your body 'think' it's eating and satisfied (again, I'm no doctor lol).  Either way, it worked ... I took a hard mint, tossed in the endless pit, and went on with the day.  Before I knew it, I had forgotten about being hungry! weird, I know!

For dinner I had some spaghetti (again, I  know - leftovers, whatcha gonna do?!) ... so now I'm pretty stuffed.  I'm going to do some more cardio Tonight ... so I'll let you all know how it went Tomorrow.

Have a great night!

-Ryan

P.S. how much water do you all drink in a day?

Day 4 (Cheerios!)

Happy Tuesday!

Last night I went to volleyball from 8-10 and had a great time.  The past week has been crazy stressful with assignments, midterms, and applications (Teacher's College) ...  I drove straight there after class.  I ate two small croissants with cheese and tomatoes for lunch (12pm) and didn't eat anything until after vball ... so I was pretty beat.  When I got come I ate some spaghetti with veggy chilly on top (might sound disgusting ... but it was good, and no meat!)

I'm trying to go veg ... at least for awhile!  I've already eliminated red-meats ... so it's now between fish and the birds.  I do love both ... but so far I've been turning down some chicken and stuff and substituted it for fish.  So we'll see how it goes - I don't want to put my body through a big 'shock'!

Today I woke up early again and got some cardio in.  I ate some honey nut cheerios for breakfast ... couldn't find the flax Today though! No idea where it went haha  I walked/jogged on the treadmill for 10minutes then did a couple minutes of light weights, and then finished with 150 situps/crunches in different positions (e.g., sides, legs raised ect).

10 Minute Walk:
-3 minutes - 4mph (warm-up walk)
-3 minutes - 6.5mph (light jog)
-2 minutes - 4.5 (walk)
-1 minute - 8mph (hard jog)
-1-minute - 4mph (cool-down walk)

I'm home Today writing a paper until the afternoon.  I have one short 1.5hour lecture, then will be back again.  I'm going to try and get another light cardio workout in Tonight ... maybe some walking/jogging with the '4 minute workout' ... give it a try!

Hope you all have a great Day - keep up your great work! (and happy voting for those in the US)

-Ryan

P.S. The weather here is like summer!  Snow last week, sunshine and shorts this week!
