Before After

Woman in the mirror

So I just realized that I have not introduced myself and my goals. I am a 27 yr old mother of three, and I am currently going to school and am an artist. I have been athletic my entire life, doing triathlons by 10 and three sports a yr through school. But that didn't mean I didn't struggle with my weight.

I remember taking Phen-Fen and getting endermologie and B-12 injections during my lunch break my senior yr of HS. After three kids, my body has had it!!

Another whopper fro me is my love of food. I love eating it, cooking it and even watching others eat it on tv. Food was always there for me no matter what. So I am sure you all can imagine just how difficult going on a full liquid fast is for me. But I am done with being the big girl with the pretty and sweaty face.

My starting weight was 219 with my highest being 240. I am currently 208 with a goal of 150-145.

So here it is one month end and I have a major mental block. The woman I see in the mirror is not me! I mean I feel so much leaner and sexier than the chubby wubby I see in the mirror. My hubby says looking in the mirror while working out is best...I say not! I tried that during kickboxing and I almost cried. I became more worried about not looking so fat that I lost my kick ass attitude of how I actually felt. UGH!

The good news is I have a total body fat loss of 24 pounds for a total muscle gain of 16 pounds. Very exciting-just wish I could "see" it  more. Here's toasting to a better reflection...

Goodbye to my friends- good ole stretch marks!!

So I have said "Goodbye" to my old best friends chili cheese with onion fries and Pepsi, and "Hello" to Phentremine and Bio-oil. Starting my journey I always worried of being thin but having saggy skin covered in stretchie marks....and then what?!?!

Well you will never guess...but my stretchies are GONE on my arms and breasts and my arms are tightened down 1 inch!

I combined what my personal trainer told me and what I found by digging through the internet. My regime:

Stretchies:

Rub Preparation-H (I know it is ewey) on areas to tighten BEFORE working out and sweating. (keep in mind if you regain a lot of the weight these areas will be prone to stretchies)

Massage Bio-Oil and Palmers cocoa butter alternately after showers twice a day. Be liberal and rub in well.

Cellulite:

Dry Brush before showers twice a day use a bath brush or dry loofah and brush the body from toes to heart and from fingers to heart. Use clockwise motion on stomach and side to side for chest and upper shoulders. (Brush longer and with more pressure on dimply areas). *Always brush towards the heart*  See this link for more info ... http://www.naturalhealthtechniques.com/HealingTechniques/Dry_Brushing_Technique.htm

Massage Bio-Oil over cellulite areas twice to three times a day after showering.

Use caution on not brushing too hard or putting to much prep- h on.

Just thought  I would share with all of you and here's toasting to no more stretchies and no more cellulite...YAY!

So Sore : /

So here it is, I was so excited this morning. I couldn't wait to jump on the dreaded scale after my double workout day and I actually dropped two pounds! I love this, however....I am sore beyond belief. Plus I really thought I was going to fall out during my evening class. Don't know how many times I can do that.

I go on Friday to weigh in with my Dr and I really want to see some real movement, I am hoping the trend continues.

By the way did I mention that my goal for this weight loss is only 4 months away?!! I am going to Vegas with my hubby,my sis and her squeeze, and I will be damned if I can not fit into a size 7 or better and go shopping with my sis. She is gorgeously skinny and I have this vision of hitting the stores like Khloe and Kourteny Kardashian. I am so excited to be able to shop in those stores instead of going to the plus departments or trying to convince myself that if I wear spanx and tight camisoles it just might look good!

Well I'm off to to kickboxing where I hopefully will leave on my own legs..lol!
Here's toasting to the weight loss trend continuing......please....

Early workout blues

So here it is, I HATE working out this early-my body just won't cooperate! I get that it is day one of this new routine and it takes time, but I had to concentrate just to stop from losing my stomach on the stairs. Oh and only half pound loss today. I guess I should stop complaining, however I thought for sure after fasting now for almost three days on full, I would see SOMETHING. Gotta refocus for tonight's kickboxing. In the meantime have to take my two girlies to get their shots and check ups-and on my Barbie's third birthday! Here's toasting to a full day of fasting....and a settled stomach...

New Year motivation

So here it is, exactly  27 days from my original start day and a beginning of a new year. Many second guessed me starting such a strict diet going into the holidays, but there is always an excuse to put weight loss off. I began the Optifast 800 plan on December 4th as well as a rigorous workout plan. Although I am happy with some of the physical changes I see, I am none too happy with the scale numbers. Most claim to lose up to 20lbs the first month, and as of last week I have only lost 4lbs! However, my total body fat loss has been 20lbs, so I guess I am building my lean body mass- but hello, why isn't that extra muscle doing something for me on the scale?!

But even with that good news, I am still disappointed. I am the first to admit that I have cheated some during the parties and such, but compared to my diet before beginning Optifast, it is nothing. I have decided to up my workouts and have added 1 hour of cardio kickboxing 4 days a week on top of my hour and a half of Stairmaster and resistance training 7 days a week. *My trainer thinks I am absolutely crazy for being on this diet but has supported me and has added amino acids to daily routine to help counteract any muscle loss.*

I am new to blogging, but hope a daily journal of my journey will keep me from seeking emotional support from the pantry. This weeks goal is to drop below the 200s...forever!! Here is a toast to successful fasting...at least for today....
