The Journey So Far
Today is not the first day of my weight loss journey, but it is the first day of the final push to a slimmer, toner me.
So that you have some context, I'll give you a little background. I am 25 and I spent the last four years of my life overweight. In the summer of 2005, I gained 35 pounds. After that the weight kept packing on. I stopped stepping on a scale, so I can't tell you what my highest weight was, but I can tell you, that I never want to be there again.
Last summer, I went to a wedding with my father. I was wearing a black gown, and I thought I looked nice. After the wedding, while we were waiting for the reception to begin, my father pulled me aside and asked me if I was pregnant. I was outraged. I didn't know that the world saw me that way. That was the first time that I truly felt fat.
I had purchased a wii fit that week, which I had not yet used. I stepped on, and the little wii board told me I was OBESE, weighing in at a grand 232.6lbs. I decided that day, that it was time to do something about the weight.
I kept seeing those Nutrisystem commercials, and I really didn't think it would work, but I gave them a call and decided to give it a try. Miraculously, it worked. My first week, I lost 7 pounds. I was so proud, and was determined to get the weight off. After a few weeks, I started exercising as well, and I saw real progress. By the end of October, I was down 41.7lbs.
At that point, I decided to take a break. My birthday was coming, and who wants to be on a diet during their birthday. What was suppose to be two weeks off plan, turned in to two months. The amazing thing, is that I didn't gain the weight back. In fact, I kept losing. I lost at a much slower rate, but it was still a loss. By the end of the year, I was at 182.6lbs, exactly 50lbs down from my starting weight.
With the start of January, I was determined to get myself back on track. That lasted a little while, but I don't have the same focus I had when I first started this journey. Weekends are hard for me, and the scale definitely shows it. My lowest weight this month was 172.8, but of course after a saturday night, my weigh in this morning was 174.4.
I am down 8.2lbs this month, which at my current weight is not bad at all. Unfortunately, that still makes me overweight. I won't be at a normal weight until 169, and I think I'll have to make real effort to get to that point and beyond. That is why I have decided to embark on this final journey.

Today is the start of my final push to lose the weight and get the body I want. To help me in this effort, I have decided to start the Beach Body Slim in 6 Program. The program is designed to maximize your weight loss and sculpt your body in six weeks. I have seen some success with this program before, but I have never been able to go the full six weeks. This time, I am determined to stick with it until the end. Let's see how it turns out.
