I am trying the natural way, again!
What is it called when you know you really should do something, and you still wont do it? Stupid maybe?!?
I know my body prefers eating 'natural.' My tummy, my head, my joints, and I'm positive my internal organs prefer it. So why is it so hard to do??? Why does the lure of doritios and baked goods always pull me back to the dark side? I have done this before with good success for 6 months! But the lure of Christmas cookies sent me over the edge. Now, the time has more than come for me to start again. I know what I have to do - eat healthy and exercise consistantly! Oh, if it were only that easy! Wish me luck, and good luck to you as well!
Here we go again - Shelly

It's a Jungle Out There
Hang in there. I feel that same, nearly irresistable gravitational pull to Doritos and doughnuts. Heaven forbid someone reveal a bag or a box anytime after 2am at work. At that time of night I'm nearly defenseless.
I take some small comfort in this fact: The Titans of Food Production at places like Frito Lay and McDonalds don't just come up with an idea and throw it out there for public consumption, hoping for the best. They spend meeeellions of dollars in research, development, and testing (not including that darned targeted marketing) prior to a product roll-out. THEY MAKE SURE IT TASTES GOOOOOOD!
Now, does that absolve me of my responsibility to use good judgement? Absolutely not. Does it make that rediculous temptation understandable? As Kool-Aid used to say, "Oh, yeah!"
All things considered, you're still way ahead in the game, still more than half way to your goal, and still doing great. A little resistance today makes a little more resistance tomorrow easier. Keep fightin' the good fight!

What would i do without you?
Yes, we are in this together and why now did we backslide...maybe to be stronger in the long run. We ARE going to do it and we both need to get back to eating healthier.
And yes, we HAVE to exercise (damnit...LOL!). I actually was on the treadmill at 5 AM this morning. It felt really good. I think maybe with it getting lighter earlier...I may even be able to take it to the streets, my running that is, before work. I noticed this morning that at 5:25 it was light enough to see in front of your face. So maybe I can stop using the sun as an excuse.
I hope you are having a wonderful day...HUGS

Good luck!
I hear ya! I've caved in to chocolate recently and normally its not my cup of tea. My husband still has that stash in his sock drawer and its been tempting me! My biggest problem is fruit. I usually get plenty of veggies with dinner, but I should get more during the day, too. And force myself to eat fruit, which I hate.
Anyway, toss out those Doritos and get some whole foods. How about a nice big salad with some sliced chicken breast on top?

Doritos v. Me
I've fought that fight many a time and lost. About the only thing that ever holds me back is they're instant bad breath for me. Of course, once I dive in, that justification brain kicks in and says "What the heck, the fresh breath is blown to bits now, might as well eat the whole bag." Ouch!
Looking at your chart, you're a total inspiration. Look how far you've come! No giving up now - you're back on the right track, and you can do it.
Sorry to hear you don't like fruit - that's been my saving grace these days. I'm on a fresh pineapple kick. I bought one and the next thing I knew, I had eaten the whole thing. Incredibly juicy, amazingly sweet, like candy. Not sure if it's your thing, but thought I'd pass it along in case, cuz it's not one exactly a "grab and go" fruit... but I'm soooo tired of apples and grapes and bananas. It takes a little preparation but fresh pineapple is totally worth it (of course, only if you like it!)
Best of luck to you!

Baked Goods
Baked goods are a HUGE battle for me, so I understand what you're talking about! Keep blogging on EP, and we'll all keep each other motivated!

You can do it: D
You are on the right track! As long as you step away from the chips you'll be fine: D
No, seriously. I know you can do it. The first step is admitting that you were on the wrong path and now you've began a new path. Keep your spirits up and stay focused! You have a goal and you will attain it. Keep journally (blogging) and track your food intake.
All the best on your journey and remember we all are in the same boat: D
talk to you tomorrow: D
P.S.- We both have similar weight loss goals, congrats on your 40lbs. Thats amazing: D

Just curious...
How is the Wellbutrin working? Has it kicked in yet? I take it, too, but lately I've been thinking I need to switch to something else.
Hey, no matter what you weigh on your birthday, you've already come so far and will definitely be less than you were last year! I know how you feel...I do not want to spend my 40's wishing I wasn't overweight like I did in my 30's. Lets be fit and 40 together, ok? You'll do it, I know you will! I'm actually enjoying being 40 so far! Way better than 39!
