Good, bad, and ugly
So, technically I'm up this week. Honestly, I'm super PMSy so I'm trying not to freak out about it. But I was super good this week. Yesterday was the only day I went way over (about 500 calories; although it's hard to say because most of it was homemade treats I was tasting as I went. Bad Sarah!)
I didn't get around to cooking everything I wanted to. I made the chicken barley chili and that was super good. The avocado pasta was amazing and I can easily scale it back for one. It's a bit calorie high but all good stuff. I've worked in treats every day to keep in line with my calories. In a couple of months, I'm going to try to scale back on the sweets. For now, as long as it fits in, I think it's fine.

Outline
I was listening to a podcast about achieving your goals and have decided to rework what I'm doing to be more in line with the ideas in the podcast. Basically, I wanted to lose weight but had no checks and balances to evaluate if I was doing that effectively or not. My new plan is to use this blog as a weekly check in in conjunction with loseit.com for my calorie counting.
Exercise
I'm on Week 3 Day 1 of Couch to 5k and it's going really well. I need to invest in some new running shoes but I've had a pile of bills come up very suddenly, most of all my car so I'm going to try to cut down my spending for the next two weeks and hopefully save enough of my spending money to buy a pair.
Tomorrow, I'm going to start the 10 week program to do 100 pushups.
I will continue walking Brady on my off days and all that together should cover my exercise. I want to eventually work in Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred and get back to doing Dance Central but I'm going to reevaluate in a couple weeks to see if I can incorporate either of these into my week.
Diet
I've decided for now to count calories since it gives me a concrete idea of how I'm doing on a daily basis.
I'm going to continue eating "real" foods (ie whole milk, butter, oils, as well as fruits and veg) because I just really hate the idea of stuffing myself with processed, chemically food.
I'm going to continue to cook but will just have to accept I can only get so close to my real caloric intake and estimation will have to be ok.
This week, I bought enough food for four healthy recipes and I'll report back on how those are:
