Before After

Still here

I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving.  I know I did.   We went out of town for the holiday.  I have an aunt who lives in Alabama and she hosted the festivities this year.   We had a really nice time.  It's always good to see family whom you haven't seen for awhile.  My oldest turned 10 on Thanksgiving also.  That made the day even better.
Good News!!!  Dh has decided that he needs to lose some weight.   Hopefully this will make the dieting a little easier.  It's always better if you have a partner to encourage you.  We'll see how it goes.  He is supposed to start tomorrow.   We are a bit competitive, so this should be fun.  The girls have divided us into teams and they are our trainers.  It's going to be interesting.  He wants to get ready for his class reunion this summer (and so do I).

T - 43

I had written a pretty neat summary of my day a few minutes ago and lost it all.
Anyway, my youngest dd was sick, so I missed work and stayed home with her.  When my kids miss school, I make them stay in bed.  If you are too sick for school, then you are too sick for the wii.  I relented a bit today and let her watch some television.  The weather here has been so crazy.  It has gone from hot to cool to hot to cold.  Her little body couldn't take it.
I got a lot done today.   I finished a paper for tomorrow night's class and got most of my Thanksgiving cleaning done
She is better and we will all be on the grind again in the morning.
Dietwise everything went well.  I worked out this a.m. and ate on plan.  I have decided to stay away from the scale for awhile.   The scale is not good to me.  It goes up and down.  I think my clothing will be a better gauge as to how well I am doing.

T minus 44 days & counting

Well, today went great.  I was a bit lazy and didn't get out of bed to exercise this morning.  The weather is getting cooler and the bed was so warm.

Everything at work was just go - go- go.  It was nonstop.
I ate well today and felt bad about not working out this a.m.  I don't have class on Tuesdays and dh took the girls to soccer practice, so I utilized my quiet time and actually worked out for 45 minutes.  I felt really good afterwards.
I will set the alarm on my cell phone for the morning.  I will put it on the dresser that is farthest from my bed.  That way I will have to get up to turn it off.  That way, since I'm up, I might as well workout.
Here's an overview of my day:
Exercise: 45 minutes on the exercise bike (p.m.
Eating:  Stayed within the boundaries of my diet
Water: could have done a bit better.
Journal:  wrote down everything that I ate

T-45 days and counting

Today was the first day of the Carbohydrate Curve.  Everything went well.  I am slowly getting on board the water wagon.  I made a conscious effort to make sure that I drank water today.
Here's an overview of my day:
Exercise: 45 minutes on the exercise bike
Eating:  Stayed within the boundaries of my diet
Water: drank more than usual (baby steps)
Journal:  wrote down everything that I ate

THE PLAN

My plan is to follow the Primal Blueprint Carbohydate Curve  I also need to get back on the water wagon.  I have a tendency to add flavor packets to water.  I need to fall in love with plain water.
I watched the Tyra Shw a week or two or ago and she suggested the following: If you bite it, write it.
Here's my plan of action:
1.  Workout - at least 4 days a week of some type of cardio
2.  Eat - follow the PBCC
3.  Drink more water
4.  Journal - write down everything that goes into my mouth
Well, here's to the next 45 days!

Confession

I am here to admit that I have fallen off the wagon.  I went out of town last weekend to a soccer tournament and it all went downhill.  The wagon ran over me, backed up, and ran over me again.
I am here to start anew  (again).  I looked at the calendar and see that as of tomorrow, there are 45 days left until the new year.  I will use the 45 days to get as healthy as I can by the start of 2010.  I hope to be dabbling in the 160's by Christmas.  My overall goal is to be 145 or size 6 by Spring Break in March.  We are taking the girls to Disney and I want to look good for Mickey.

Another day down

Today was much better than yesterday.  I got up and rode my exercise bike for about 45 minutes and then had a protein shake.  I have all sorts of personal challenges going on.  I'm trying to be consistent with taking my vitamins.  I am also trying to drink more water.
I am in the process of trying to grow my hair out too.  There have been times that I have let my hair be a hindrance to my weight loss.  I don't want to workout because I don't want to sweat my hair out.  I wore braids for awhile, but it thinned my hair out.  I ended up cutting my hair really short in July.  So now I will wash and condition and just dust my ends and try to grow it out.
My first semester school is almost complete.  It has been a challenge, but I am hanging in.

Day 1

Today started off very well.  I got up early and hit the treadmill.  I wogged for 2 miles. A wog is a walk/jog combination.  I had a protein shake for breakfast.  I was so ON!!  Then came lunch.  Today we were celebrating the intern's b'day.  I ate just enough to be polite.   I did okay.   I just need to be sure that I thrrow in a little extra cardio sometime this week to offset those calories.

Let me introduce myself.

I am a 36 year old mother of two girls ( 9 and 7).  I am married to my college sweetheart.  I have recently decided to go back to grad school.  My life is very stressful at times.   I looked in the mirror a couple of days ago and declared myself both tired and fat.  So now, I am determined to do something about it.
My youngest dd and I cleaned the garage and set up a very neat looking mini gym.  We left a clear wall so that the girls could practice soccer (and stop ruining my furniture) and I dusted off the treadmill and spin bike.  I actually wiped them down with bleach.  It looks really good.  Dh is out of town and will be surprised to see how nice the garage looks when he returns.
Now that we've gained this extra hour, I have no excuse.   If I can get my mindset right, then I will be okay.  I remember a comment that Oprah once made:  I know what to do to lose weight- I just have to do it.  I think most of us know what to do, we just have to apply those principles.
I know I won't be able to post every day, but I will try to update at least 2 - 3 times a week.  I like reading other people's blogs for insipiration and hope that I can inspire someone too.
