Before After

Still going strong!

Yesterday was another good day. My eating wound up being fine, despite the big lunch, and my weight was down a little more today--145.8! I had two glasses of wine with dinner, which is right in line with where I want to keep my alcohol consumption (no more than 7 alcoholic drinks per week, no more than 2 at a time).

I did my 4-mile speed run despite the insane heat and humidity and the fact that I REALLY DID NOT WANT TO. But I did, and it felt good. I'm not running today because I have a 10K race in the morning, but I'm scheduled to do strength training. I don't think I did enough when I strength trained on Tuesday--I wasn't sore at all. More weights? More reps? It's a mystery to me...

The fiance and I have narrowed possible wedding/reception venues down to three. We saw one last night, which I loved, and have two more to see on Monday. I'm hopeful that we'll have something locked in by the middle of next week. It will be SUCH a load off my mind to have that booked! Then I just have to find a wedding dress, bridesmaid dresses, wedding rings, a DJ, a photographer, a florist, and a cake baker. Sigh... No one told me it was this much work!

IT'S FRIDAY, Y'ALL!

Goals!

It sounds like you are doing well.  I'm glad you've been able to stick with your goals and the weight is dropping.

Good luck on your 10k.

Wedding Planning

We had the hall chosen and book before we officially got engaged.  How's that for putting the wagon before the cow (or whatever that expression is).  I absolutely LOVED planning my wedding, except for the wedding dress shopping.  I should have followed my first idea and have the dress made that I wanted instead of buying it then having it altered.  My friend's mom, who was a seamstress for the Cirque du Soleil had offered to make my gown but I declined.  Finally I asked her to do my alterations.  She was a little pissed with the quality of my dress, having to take the whole thing apart just to do all over again.  How's that for stress?  I hope your experience with that will be better than mine.  I LOVED how my dress turned out, though!

I won't get into the other details of my wedding, but I must say our friends had an AMAZING time.  If you want more info, just let me know.  You might be interested in some of the ideas I came up with.  Anyhoo...

You're doing great, as usual.  Limiting yourself to 2 glasses of wine can be tough - I know.  Have a great weekend!

Book?

I meang BOOKED!!  I really must reread my comments before posting them.  Yikes!

Go you!

I'm so proud that you are taking care of yourself in all areas. Good for you for talking to your boss about the extra work, I know how hard that can be to do. Also, it's great that you talked to your doctor and are getting a second opinion. Let me know how that goes. And yay for (almost) booking a wedding venue! The wedding planning process can certainly get a bit crazy. My best friend got married recently and it was TONS of work for all of us.

Good luck on your 10K and have a fantastic weekend. And with the strength training, I think its better to do more reps. I've been told that my last rep should be the last one I can do (ie can't lift the weight again). Also, lighter weights with more reps are supposed to lead to more muscle toning and less bulking up of muscles.

I admire you.

I so want to be able to run. That is one of my goals and I've started walking this week so maybe before long I'll be jogging and then hopefully running soon after. I have a seceret dream of running a marathon (you are the first person I've told). Anyway, you are an inspiration to me.  Keep up the great work!!

Good luck

Good luck on the 10K!  I hope you finish before it gets too hot.  The heat is crazy this week.  I wish it would cool down around here.

I always have the same problem with not getting sore.  I've tried everything to get sore and it hardly ever happens.  Who can explain it?
