This is my last post before I head off to Africa for the wedding... wish me luck with all the food!

My body fat measuring scale arrived this morning. Good news and bad news. Good news: I weigh 147.5, which is less than the 149 I weighed last week. Bad news: I have 27% body fat. That seems awfully high for someone who is as active as I am. Don't you think?

in Africa! I'm sure the trip will be fabulous. Don't worry too much about those scales. Consumer reports evaluated them recently, and even the most accurate ones were only correct within about 8%, 80% of the time. So don't take the scale seriously. Ask your doctor to measure your body weight. They have more accurate measurement techniques.

Anyway, have a blast on your trip, and don't forget to post pics when you get back! Maybe even one of you in the shorts... ;)

Oh, Africa!

One of my dream destinations!  Have fun and good luck!  I read that you are a runner.  I am wanting to run so badly!  I currently am walking briskly until I lose some weight, but then I want to start running.  (I am afraid that if I just started running now I would hurt my knees are ankles as I am heavy with mot alot of muscle.)  Any suggestions on how to start?
