Before After

Hello Lovely Ladies!

I wanted to stop by and say hello. I am actually here quite a bit. I comment here and there, but I am so behind in life it is hard to get a block of time to really reconnect. You know what I mean?

I have been blogging because it really helps keep me motivated, honest (out of denial) and accountable. If you are interested here it is. (BTW, you do not have to be a blogger member (or whatever it is called to comment. Just hit anonymous and you can comment and link to your own blog as well. I think)

Just missing you ladies and I hope to get caught up soon. We have spring break coming up so hopefull then! To those of you that stop by and comment here that is totally fine as well. Especially now that it seems that the email notifications are working again. The posting issues are just driving me crazy and you know I LOVE  to post pictures which is tougher here.

HAPPY BELATED BUNNY DAY!

Comments to this post:

Hiya!

Glad you stopped by.  Hey, guess what?  Between my post and this comment, I registered for the Firecracker 5k for St. Jude.  It's Thursday, July 3, 2008 at 7:00 pm.

Special Guest Appearance

Okay so I'm posting on here just so I can post a video.

I am in LOVE with the Edgar & Lucy photo on your other blog.  I'd love a copy of that if you can send it to me.

The Floyd and Toby pic reminded me of this ...

Hey there

  Thank you!

That had to be the most wonderful, absolute best, awesomest, (am I allowed to make up words?) comment EVER!!!  *sigh* you made my heart so happy.

Thank you!

Wow, its this weekend! I can't believe it. I doubt we'll be waiting for you at the finish line! I'm pretty sure you'll finish long before me and Andrea do. But it will be loads of fun. I'm not concerned with my time or anything...I just want to have fun!

My knee is much better today. I think I will attempt to run 2 miles day and see how it goes. I'm going to rest Friday and Saturday. You're crazy to be running a half marathon the day before! And all the way from Santa Cruz to Sacramento!! Yikes!

Looking forward to meeting you....Saturday night? Sunday morning?

too many thoughts...

I love your posts, and I like it when you post here.  Am putting it under this one, as this is more than likely going to be very long.  I have to re-claim the title ya know?!?

I also LOVE the new background.  I like flowers, and I like pink.  I read your blog about your pink hat and I know you like pink too.   My sister-n-law and I are going to run 4 Duathlons this summer, and I was wondering if you wouldn't mind if we wore pink?!?

Now...don't fall over from shock, as it really isn't that super big of a deal.  Actually, try not to laugh when I tell you the details.    If you do, though, I won't mind as it is rather comical when you think about it.

It's a 2 mile run...10 mile ride....2 mile run

Which I'm all about the 10 mile ride.  It's the running I dread.

I quote "It's a very laid back race!  Perfect for beginners!"

Here is where the comic begins..."This race is very laid back, no numbers, no chips, no draft marshalls.  No transistion times, if fact no rules, except a helmet must be worn at all times while on the bike."   (are you cracking up yet?)

So, basically my interpretation is this....it's a bunch of people getting together to exercise all at the same time.  PERFECT!!!    There are 4 scheduled for the summer and our plan is to do all four.  They start in May and are all 1 month apart.  We we are going to track how we do on the first one, work to get better, then see how we've improved on the last one.  Who knows what this might lead too?  I see how you are able to do this, and you've inspired me to give it a try.

Now....sorry to talk about me...it was the pink thing that got me started.  (it really doesn't take much)

Tight jeans are a great motivator huh?  It stinks, but it really does work.

Ok...the normal questions with dealing with tight jeans.  Is TOM lurking? Could it just be water gain?  (and the crazy, psycho control that TOM has over us?  Grrr...hate TOM)  If not...

May I ask what you are doing now as far as your eating? (besides what you share is out of control)

Does your trainer suggest anything to help you for your runs and such?

Do you have a restricted diet before your run to help you perform better?

If so, do you feel that is so restrictive that you have to binge to make yourself feel better?    (that's happened to me before that's why I'm asking)

Actually, it's happening now.  This diet the trainer has me on (although much like BFL is way more restritive.  She took my free day away for 2 weeks.), and for thr last 24-48 hours all I seem to do is think about what I'm not allowed to have. It's taking super human efforts to not just eat everything in site and say really bad words.

Do you think maybe what's going on with you?

Is what you are doing is too restrictive?

How often do you eat?

Are you having huge gaps between meals, and that leaves you wanting to eat everthing in site, or are you eating large amounts 6 times a day?  (as opposed to small meals?)

Sorry about all of the questions.  Sure not being nosy, am just hoping something is in there that will help you see something you might not be seeing already.  (yea...say that fast 10 times)

This what I have found that works, and works the best...

6 small meals with a balance of protein and carbs in each one.  Spaced out every 2.5 - 3 hours throughtout the day.  Taking 1 day a week to eat whatever you want.  Or, if you feel that's dangerous waters, 1 - 2 free meals on one day a week.

It allows you to feel in control and helps exercise discipline by waiting till that designated free time.  It balances your sugar levels so you don't have extreme highs and lows, (I think that's what's happening.  You probably know way better then me what's going on there)  and it eliminates that awful guilt from eating too much because it's planned in.  Also, when you eat so well through the week, eating like crap makes you feel bad, therefore giving you a new neuro association (sp?)  to it.

Of course, only you can determine what will help.  I'm sure not trying to tell ya what to do.  If we knew that answer to "Why can't I just make a few unhealthy choices, realize that is not the direction I want to go in and reign It back in?" then this world would be a whole lot healthier.  I think writing it out like you did, is going to be HUGE in helping you get past this.

I am so happy you are getting to go to Africa this summer.  That is just way cool.   You are going to make some wonderful memories.

You are doing so many great things for your body, and you are inspiring so many along the way.  (me for one) I'm sure you will do whatever it takes to figure out this eating thing.  I will share something my trainer shared with me over the weekend..."you can't out train a bad diet.  PERIOD!"

Grrrrr.....

I mean, thanks!

Ok...it's time to wrap this up.  I can't even remeber what I wrote at the top, and you are probably asleep.

Keep kicking butt and taking names.

Oh yea...

please, please, please don't feel like you have to answer all of those questions to me.  (although, I sure don't mind)  I just wanted to throw some things out there to think about.  You are busy enough, you sure don't need an EP homework assignment.

Hope something among the ramblings was helpful.    If not, please forgive me for making you endure that.
