Didn't do too bad today. Managed to drag myself to Curves this morning for a workout. I've even managed to walk 1.5 miles so far and still intend to walk a couple of more miles before bedtime. I have to walk the dogs each night, anyway.
As for eating, I missed breakfast. Had a sub sandwich with a 1/2 cup of potato salad and a 1/4 cup of bittersweet chocolate chips for lunch. My birthday dinner was spaghetti (think something like steak&shake's 5 way chili) and a slice of garlic bread. Oh so good! Then my family made me a special yellow cake that had walnuts and chocolate pudding inside the cake and was topped with fudge icing and more walnuts. Added a scoop of icecream and wow it was so yummy but I'm sooooooo stuffed! Ate over 3 hours ago and still feel full! That's why I've already walked 1.5 miles. I was trying to rev my metabolism up a little so I wouldn't feel so bloated.
It's funny because a year ago I could have eaten 2 servings of the spaghetti plus a large slice of cake and double scoop of ice cream. This year, I had one good size portion of spaghetti, a small slice of cake, and one scoop of ice cream. If it wasn't for hurting my family's feelings, I would have passed on the dessert!
My poor 6yr old son started crying while we were passing out the cake. He thought my birthday was tomorrow and hadn't finished a card or anything. So his dad asked if he'd like to take me out for breakfast tomorrow! Of course, he's very excited now. Ahem hey daddy? did you forget I'm trying to lose weight !? LOL Ah well.
I wanted a new pair of running shoes but after visiting 3 stores today, I couldn't find any I liked. So tomorrow, we're apparently going out for breakfast then over to the next town to see if I can find the shoes I want.
how was your saturday? Did you do something that made you smile? If so, what was it, if you don't mind sharing. If not, then take 5 tomorrow and do something that makes you happy! sing or dance, buy a plant! Do something that makes you feel pretty good even if it's something small. Heck sometimes that's the best thing ever!
Best wishes!

Actually...
The fact that you stopped by my blog made me smile today :) This isn't an easy game. We can pretend it is - we can also pretend it's too hard- but bottom line, it comes down to what we really want for ourselves. :)
Birthday's in my opinion, never count foodwise lol. But after that - back on track! lol. You can do this...... I know I've been away for awhile, but it's "vacation over", and I'm ready to be back in the game. I hope you enjoyed your birthday, sounds like you did! And just go back now, and re-evaluate, why you want to do this. That can be your personal gift to yourself, a new you. In whatever that means.
I'm big on accepting ourselves for who we are right now, not matter what. Loving ourselves where we are, right now, in this moment. As a result, maybe that means going further; maybe that means being happy right now, in this body now. Nothing matters, but what YOU want. What you feel - what you want to achieve.
Before I'd be saying go for it all the way. I still say that, but with the addition, to love yourself now, no matter what. The rest will come when you really find that place :) Until then, it's all almost material, until you come to that place where it's inside you, and you have to do it for that reason alone. You've done so well, congrats, and hang in there. :)
Thank you so much for reading my blog and posting a comment. Well it sounds like you had a good birthday and it carried on to today which is nice!!! Do you mind if I add you to my friends list?
Thanks for your note! AND You live pretty close to me as well! I hope you found some running shoes. I probably need a new pair ...mine are SUPER old from Target...but I might just ask for them for my birthday coming up here soon! Hope your sunday was sunny!
