Before After

time to refocus

ok, time to get back into gear. I'm redoing my goals chart and making a grocery list for this next week. The kids have eaten just about all of the junk food and sweets that were in the  house. With my cupboards nearly bare, it seems like a good time to refocus on my health and eating habits.

I always start my week on Monday because it's so much easier to focus. It's kind of like a job; you already have the mindset that you have to go to work on Monday rather than Sleepy Sunday -which is what I had today.

We attended a surprise 80th birthday party for my children's great grandmother on Saturday. DH had a special gift in mind, but on Friday afternoon, that fell apart. I decided I'd make her a "quick" crochet blanket. Started it about 10pm Friday night. I stayed up all Friday night and worked on it mostly nonstop. I finished tucking in the last bit of yarn as GG walked in the front door of the surprise party -around 1pm Saturday afternoon. That was the quickest blanket I've ever made! Everybody there seemed to like it and GG was really impressed, so I'm happy!

The party was fun. We all left our vehicles at a friend's house down the road and were hiding in my sister-in-law's house. GG thought she was going out to lunch with my s-i-l so she was stopping by the house to pick her up.  Instead, she found a couple dozen family members waiting to shout Happy Birthday.  I overate some at the party, but while that's disappointing, I know that I did much better this time vs. previous partys. I also had a couple of friends and relatives comment on  how great I'm looking, so that's something!

Anyway, tomorrow restarts my commentment to exercise and watching what goes in my mouth. Wish me luck, please.

I hope  you have a great week ahead and lets try to  keep each other motivated!

Best wishes!

Awesome!!

Summer is really a great time to refocus and get back on track because we can be outside more and eat healthier selections since fresh fruits/veggies are in season.

Have a great week!!

We are thinking alike it seems!

Go see my latest entry. It is all about refocusing too. I was smiling as I read your new entry. It certainly sounds like something that many of us are struggling with: where to find that certain "something" (more than mere motivation) that will take us the whole way to our goals and then help us maintain once we get there.

Keep Moving Forward

It is good to hear that you did well at the party.  Even if you did eat a bit too much, it is still a step forward.

You have the right idea... refocusing can be difficult, but rewarding in the end.

I start my weeks on Monday too.  Sunday is more difficult for me because I have less control over what is served for dinner.  It is the one day of the week that I eat dinner in a place where I don't cook or order what I want because I eat at my parents'.  So, starting my journey was easiest to do on Monday.

You can do this... have a great week!

How nice!

The surprise party sounded like it was a success!  That was a great idea to have people park elsewhere.  That's always my concern with surprise parties--a dozen cars in the yard will give it away everytime!

It's Monday, let's all get back on track!  We can do it!
