Stuck in neutral
My brain says I can do this. I have various exercise options available and I know what I should and shouldn't be eating. I give myself mental peptalks constantly. My mind is in gear, BUT the rest of me is still stuck in neutral gear apparently. I know I'll get there, but really hope I get it together sooner rather than later.
I know part of my problem is stress. There's been so much going on the past couple of months that it has had a serious effect on my stress levels. I'm also having problems getting enough sleep and appear to be slightly depressed. Gee, really?
My other problem was that I went on a bit of a baking spree last month. My best friend wanted a cheesecake as a birthday present so I baked FIVE of them before I felt I had it perfected. Yeah, I'm ashamed to admit that my family and I consumed 4 cheesecakes in about a week. Then we decided we had enough cheesecake and expermented with a couple different kinds of cobbler. Ahem, coincidently or not, the scale went up nearly 10 pounds. Darn thing must be broken!
Just keep telling myself: Put down the dessert and pick up the pace! What do you do when you're stuck in neutral?
Best wishes!

Put It Into Drive
This is difficult and I know that. I have tried many times before and failed because I had hit the point where you are right now and had not figured out how to use the shifter to get the program back into drive. I have a few suggestions based on my current weight loss journey and I hope they will help.
I have realized that I need to remind myself of why I started my journey in the first place. Then I had to pick a day to start over. Once I had the day picked, I had to stick to it and start on that day. You just have to get yourself back into that frame of mind. Just a hint... Ask yourself why you eat. I know that I eat when I am bored, emotional, or when my husband ate even though I wasn't hungry. Now when I go to get something from the kitchen I ask myself why I am looking for food and if the answer isn't because I am hungry, I turn around and walk away. This can help when there are 4 cheesecakes in the house. Find something to do instead of eating... exercise, clean house, do crafts, etc.
Stress does create a challenge, but stress often comes from things that are difficult to control. Your new lifestyle, eating, exercising, etc. can be something that you can control. It can become a stressless point in your life.
Do it for yourself. Remind yourself that it will be worth it in the end. Remember that this is a life change not a short term thing. Then, put it into drive.
You can do this. It is possible to achieve your goal and the reward will be a satisfying one. I hope this helped. I am sorry if it didn't. Take care of yourself and try to keep on smiling.
