Before After

Shocked but happy

After all the food & festivities during Halloween week, I thought for sure I had gained... so was afraid to look at the scale..  but did this morning & OMG I was actually down .4 over the last 2 weeks.  I'm a happy girl :)

Also, hurt my ankle so have been doing very little exercise over the last 2 weeks :(  I did finally make it to the gym yesterday & did the VERY boring exercise bike.  But hey its something, right??

Oh & Dad is finally out of the hospital yay!  He sounded so much better on the phone yesterday.. but of course he is still recovering & very weak.  I'm very excited to see him & spend some time with him over Thanksgiving weekend.

I'm down!!

Its been a really crazy week....  more layoffs at work!  I'm survived again & am supposedly in the core group of preferred workers... we shall see what happens.  Also, my dad is in the hospital again & had more surgery on Thursday.  They amputate part of 5 of his fingers....  he's fighting an infection & my heart is breaking for him right now.  So, I booked a plane flight & will be down there for the long Thanksgiving weekend.

But now for the good news!  I have been consistently running, even through a cold for roughly 2 miles at time mostly for a few weeks now :)  & today I was rewarded for it.  I am down 1.6# & firmly into the 130's - WOOOHOO!

Oh & had the best parent-student-teacher conference ever with my DS yesterday.. it was actually enjoyable!  He is now on a 504 plan & it is really helping.

Off to run!

Losing weight?

I guess the truth is I'm just not motivated...  I've been running more, but just have not been changing my eating habits.  My husband has learned how to make apple pies... cool & oy! at the same time... lol..

But hey running is going better! This revelation happened after we had the first freeze this year.  Apparently, it is a lot related to allergies to ragweed (which goes away after the first freeze).  So, have got some 2 mile runs in lately :)

I'm still off the asthma meds & hoping I will have a better winter.. hmmm! maybe I can even take the kids skiing if I weather the cold better.

Okay gotta jet!!! time to go check out the bike bath for a little run.

Still confused about this retention thing

Does everyone have water retention issues? its driving me crazy.  I see a weight down in the 130's in the middle of the week & I'm back up on my WI days... grrr..  But what I have noticed is that my water retention weight is getting lower, so maybe I should be happy...   It was 144 a few weeks back, & this week it is 140.8 (even though I saw 138.6 a couple days earlier).  I know what Karrie is going to say... stop getting on that scale everyday!!!! lol

I have been running, well really run/walking again & this time with no meds - still - woohoo :)   Yesterday was 54 minutes on the treadmill - 10 minute walk warmup, run/walk -  15/3 15/3 5/1  & then 2 min cooldown walk .. making progress & happy about it..  well clothes are starting to fit better, so all in all, I'm happy.

Yesterday was DD's second soccer game this season.  It is very fun to watch! This is the first year they separated the boys from girls in her league.  At first she was very upset (she'd miss playing with all her boyfriends).  But, after 2 games with all girls, she's over it. Because, she now she just likes to score goals - 4 the first game, 3 the second game - woohoo, so exciting :)

 CYL!

Weight Retention - grrrrr

Struggling with that weight retention monster... grrrr   Last Monday up 4+ & totally retaining!!  This week, down 4 pounds  - yay!   For a whopping .2 loss over 2 weeks.

Okay, Okay I have to admit, I haven't been eating the best, but at least am working out a little.. but 3 days a week isn't do much I guess.  Time for some re-evaluation I'd say.

Its been awhile

4 1/2 months exactly...  Boy, oh boy  it has been a rough few months.

I was finally diagnosed wtih having 3 bulging discs in my neck.. that explains all the alignment problems I've had for years since a car accident.  The good news: it was not serious enough for surgery,  The bad news:  I was still in pain, gaining weight & not able to exercise at all.

Anyway, after unsuccessful PT, lots of tests & medical bills, my doctor put me on some heavy duty anti-inflammatory pills & they are working!!  It was taken a couple of months to really works, but now I'm rarely taking them = yay!!

So, my high weight was 145.8 ( when I got back from vacation of course).. Haven't been there for quite awhile & it was a shock..  So decided to try the run/walking again since I was doing better.. & woohoo it worked. So now have been consistently exercising about 4 times a week run/walking.  The result :   Down 5.6 # this month!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And guess what??  I have even better news - I found a book talking about asthmatics & overbreathing. It swore with a different way of breathing, asthmatics could get off their meds.  It was worth a try!  And believe it or not, they were right... I am one week now with no meds including treadmilling 3 times... woohoo life is good!

So now?  onward & downward - I'm getting back to that 130 goal!!

Steady downward movement

Gotta love that!!  I'm down .6 this week.  Ok, all I can say is that its the consistent exercise which is in the fatburning range...  yay!    I've been still doing 3x a week of the run/walking  in the running program.  This week is week 6 & I'm doing a 8/3 runwalk  :)

So,  I'm thinking about doing a 5K in a couple of weeks... am I crazy?  I'll be in Eugene for the marathon, so I'm thinking why not?  If I can't run the whole thing, it'll be fine.. just be nice to actually be running since I'll be hanging out with people who are.  Last week, I ran outside for the first time since November (when I did a 5K)..  I did my 6/3 run walk  and it was fun :)

Oh  & I started PT this week... 2 sessions done.  It seems that its really my neck where the problem is & the shoulder got affected. But now my muscles in my shoulder are totally messed up.  So, it looks like PT is the right place to be.  But, will get results of my xray next Friday, so we shall see...

Retaining water ...

Looks like i was retaining water yesterday, oy!  So, i revised my weight today since it was much more consistent with what i've been seeing this week

:)

I gained :(

Crap, I gained this week!!!  Well, it was only .6  so life goes on.

I went to a new doctor, who ordered an xray & PT...  I start PT on Wednesday.  So hopefully, this shoulder thing goes away soon.

But I'm still doing the run/walk thing - I'm on week 5 (6/3 run walk),  so half way there! :)

Down again :)

Woohoo! I'm down again!!  This time 1.8#

Shoulder is still having issues, so its hard to type.  I've now progressed to sore from pain after a cortisone shot this week.  So that has to be good, i guess...but i just want it all better!!!!

I'm on week 4 of the running program - 6 run/ 4 walk 3 times :)  breathing is getting better all the time, so am very happy about that!
