X-RAY FAT!!
Well, more like MRI fat really. These are two MRI's - one from a fat lady and one from a thin one.
I wasn't sure how many of you had seen one of these types of pictures before, so I thought I would throw it out there. I was watching a special one day on the Discovery channel or something and it was talking about how if you are overweight it doesn't just cause a lumpy butt, but sticks to all your organs and stuff too and is down right bad for you internal body cavity.
So next time you reach for that bag of chips, think about your heart covered in globs of fat. Ewwww....
Rach
P.S. I think if you look at that closely there is even fat in her brain!!!

New Plan - Take-out! :)
Okay - it's not exactly what most of you are thinking. ;)
Terry and I were talking and I told him that I wanted to switch up our normal weekday menu. But most of the time when I make our cheap dinners menu I end up making a lot of similar tasting stuff and that gets old after a while. So we were trying to think up a different style of food for every day of the week. It's a little more tricky than you might think. Here are the styles we came up with -
deli
chinese
japenese
greek
mexican
italian
thai
indian
european
american
veggie
BBQ
cajun
southern
I have a book from my mom that is a Weight Watchers take out book. I think tonight I'll go through there and try to figure a new menu out. I'm sure a lot of it would be like mexican = tacos, or italian = spaghetti, but at least it will mix up the flavors on a regular basis. :)

Sad Chart!
Man, my loss chart SUCKS BUTT! ;)
It goes up way more than it goes down! I need to get that heading in the right direction soon before my sister throws a conniption fit. Some of you might be following her blog as well (susiemarcks) and she is already pretty fit.
I promised her that I would pay to fly her out here (Orlando) in January for a 5K Fun Run they have every year as part of their Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend . I need to send in our registration forms this weekend because these things fill up fast! But the big thing is that if any of you read my comments you can see her telling me to get my ass in gear! ;)
She recently got back down to pre-baby weight and is keeping herself ready for this race (there is no walking - you have to keep up a certain speed or they pick your slow butt up in golf cart! How embarrassing!) she knows I need to get going now in order to be able to run 3.2 miles without stopping in January.
Susie is at 162 right now. I know that may sound like a lot, but my sister and I are both about 6 feet tall. That puts her at about 22.6 BMI in the healthy range. I, on the other hand, land at about 34.9 - well into the obesity range.
I don't like to think that I now out weigh my little sister by 88 pounds - but I do. Actually there is only one time in my life that I can actually remember us being able to share clothes and that was just a few years ago. I figure that I will always out weigh her by 5 to 10 pounds because I have big ol' boobs and she doesn't (haha Susie!) but other than that we are pretty much poured from the same mold. Heck, we even had our babies within 12 days of each other!
So I guess I'm just saying that I know that if she can do it, I can too. I mean GENETICALLY, I can too. There isn't some magical trait in my family that keeps me fat. It's just my mouth. ;)
All right, all right, Susie. I promise I will at the very, very least walk this weekend. (I think my pink eye and sore throat are about 80% gone!) And by next weekend I will have attempted to run at least once. I think I need to go through some of my old pics and find some skinny ones to post on the fridge. I'll probably do some official Before & After types this weekend.
THERE! You happy now!? ;)

That sounds good...FREAK! ;)
Short post today ladies. The NBA Playoffs are calling my name and I hate them.
I just leave you with this -
Do you have one meal or treat that you absolutely love, but if anyone else saw you eating it they would think you were a total weirdo and maybe want to throw up a little?
I do - I'm eating it right now. I LOVE Beef with Barley soup mixed with crackers. THEN you take Doritos and use the beef soup as a chip dip.
Simply wonderful. ;)

What beautiful pink eyes you have....
UGH.
Am I ever going to feel better? Yesterday, on top of this not being able to swallow sore throat I've had for a week and a half, I woke up at 4:00am with goobers gluing my eyelashes together. Yes girls, I am a grown woman with Pink Eye. Lovely.
I'm sure I got it from Harper'd daycare. I swear I have been sick more times in the last year then I ever thought possible. And I keep having this nagging feeling that my boss is about fed up with me because not only do I have to take time off when Harp is sick - then like 2 days later I have to stay home because I'm sick too! I can't even remember a week in like the last 6 months where I was able to work a FULL WEEK without needing at least one afternoon off for a doc apt or the daycare was closed or whatever.
At least soon he will know what it's like to have a 1 year old. His wife is 7 months prego! This time next year he will be like, "Dang! Rachel was at work at LOT when Harper was this small!" haha!
But unfortunately that doesn't help me out right now!! BOO! Oh well. I'm going to go eat some chicken noodle soup and take a nap.

Take me out to the ball game!
Okay girls, baseball is here and hockey and basketball are gone! Well, I guess the Magic are still in the playoffs, but them actually accomplising anything is pretty slim.
I've been sick again, and so has Harper. I'm not using that as an excuse seeing as I have been out of the loop for like 2 weeks now - and I have been nowhere near sick that long. But work will steady off for a while now and I shouldn't be having the long 8am to 7pm days I was having there for a while. That usually only happens when the sports overlap and we are done with that now! :)
Anyway - I wish I had cute clothes.
I'm hard to fit even when I'm thin - I have a 36 inch inseam for goodness sake. They just don't make womans jeans to fit like that. The only trend I could ever wear were the hip huggers because they made them low and practically dragging on the floor for most girls. This made them just about the right length for me. ;) But I hear they are going out again - sigh - it's just as well. They don't make them in size 20 anyway (and for good reason I suppose).
I've always told myself that if someone made a large size womens store with cute clothes that actually fit and that they would make a fortune. Now that I think about it - I'm pretty sure they wouldn't.
1) Nobody wants to buy a size 20W
Face it – you would NEVER set foot in the “Fat Girl” store if you didn’t have to. Even if they had the cutest stuff ever, you would go to the other store just so you wouldn’t have to label yourself that way. Even if I found the cutest best fitting dress ever - if it were a size 20W and there was another not as cute but said it was a size 18 dress that fit, some how in my subconcious I would want to buy that one. It's totally, totally dumb - but so many of us do it. Just last week my sister called to tell me that she was amazed that she was a size 8 (WAY small for us) and after a while it turned out that most of her clothes are like 10 to 12 - but those particular pants were a size 8 and fit so thats why she bought them. Haha - who hasn't done this?
2) They would be really expensive
I think that one of the main reasons these stores don’t exist is not that stores think we don’t exist or want to provide for us, but that all of us are fat in different ways. A size 6 girl is pretty much a size 6 no matter how you cut it. The only real difference would maybe an inch on the thigh or length – but that’s about it. My mom sews a lot and she told me once (Let’s see if I remember this correctly) that the way garments are cut a woman who is in the single digits can lose just a few pounds and go down a whole size, when a woman who wears an like an 18 or 20 has to lose a lot more to get down to the next size. Probably because a woman wearing an 18 will lose more weight from all over her body, where a size 8 will probably lose most of it from her hips and waist. Anyway, my point is that some woman would be like me and carry all their weight in their tummy and others in their butt. In order to make this place work you would have to make a ton of different versions of the same shirt, dress, whatever – just to fit your client. That would add up to a lot of stock! Thus a lot of cost passed on to us!
3) I don’t want to invest in something “I’m not going to be in much longer”
All women do this. They buy something they totally love, 3 sizes too small – because it will be FANTASTIC to wear when they lose another 15 pounds. We don’t do this ever in other parts of our life! I don’t go buy a snowmobile when I live in Florida because I plan to visit Colorado some day! Or buy a whole living room set, when you live in a studio apartmet because you are going to move someday. Even though the majority of women who would shop there will probably stay the same size (probably larger) in the future – they would rather throw money away at the dream of being thin, than look nice now.
4) I don’t really care how I look because I’m fat and that’s all people see anyway. I just want to be comfortable.
I don’t exactly believe this one – but part of it is true for me. Once you get up past about a size 16, all the clothes (even when they try to be cute) are poorly made and look like crap on. I would rather buy a few pairs of jeans that fit well and some plain, basic tops (mostly mens polos) that I can wear at work or home. I’m lucky that I don’t have to dress up for work – but that also leads to me being a slob. I never do my hair or makeup for work. Mostly because I like to sleep in, but a lot of is that I really don’t think it will make that big of a difference. I know that for a lot of girls who are overweight that hair and makeup become a huge thing – but most of the time it’s a way over the top attempt to cover up their weight and I don’t like that feeling it gives off at all. I have nothing against makeup and stuff – but if I don’t like what I see in the mirror, why would I spend an hour and a half making it up and still not liking how it turns out? I actually WANTED to do my hair and makeup when I was thin because I thought it made me look even better. But now – I just don’t see the point sadly.
So anyway that’s why I don’t think those stores exist. We all THINK that we want them to be there – but we never actually want to shop at them! The only one that I ever go to has the worst possible PR person that ever lived – why, why, why would you ever name a store that caters to large women “Dress Barn”?

It's Poozer!!
That's what I call my little sister, Susie. (Susier-Poozer) And now she's on EP too!
www.extrapounds.com/blog/susieisablogger/
She isn't trying to lose as much as me because she has been much better about getting her baby weight off than I have. Her son, Adam, is only about 11 days younger than Harper - so we were both prego at the same time.
She is the one that I am going to be doing the 5k with in January, so I told her she should jump on here and use it to keep her training on track and keep her measurements and stuff.
As for me - still at the same 248. That's okay, but Terry lost another freakin 2 pounds! THAT'S 8 POUNDS SINCE LAST FRIDAY! LESS THAN A WEEK!!
I hate him.... ;)

Goodbye hockey!!!
WOOO HOOO!
I figured out today that the hockey season is over as far as my work is concerned! I have been SO loaded down with promos. Yesterday I came in at 8:00am and left the building at 7:25. It was a LONG day and it was causing mistakes in my work. I almost sent promos out to the whole state that said "The Magic take on the New Jersey Knicks!" Uh.....no. Last time I checked the Knicks were in New York. Sheesh! Those spots were 2 seconds from going out with the UPS drop. I had to recut them and splice the audio till I could fake a 'New York' insert.
March sucks because it's the Magic, Heat, Rays, Marlins, Lightining, and Panthers all at the same time. BUT NO MORE HOCKEY NOW! WOO HOO!! :)
Anyway, no more work talk!
Terry went down another 3 pounds! Holy smokes! I'm still the same, but that's fine. I'm not expecting to lost 6 pounds in 5 days like Terry did! That lucky dog...
I didn't get a workout in yesterday because it was raining at lunch and I didn't get home until about 9:00. Poor Doodle is going through a growth spurt or something because she was being a total crab apple!
But tonight I am trying to get out of here on time and get a workout in!!! Gotta get back to work!

Here's a pic we took of Harper on her birthday. We take a picture of her in my wedding dress every year to see how big she has got! :)

Hey! You really can! Who knew...
Hello Ladies!
I can't believe it, but I managed to lose about 3 pounds over the weekend. That NEVER happens!
I haven't started running yet, but Terry and I took a walk on Friday night and were working our butts off in the garden all weekend. I was one of those people who always thought that gardening wasn't really exercise - not anymore!! When you are starting from scratch and trying to redo an entire back yard, it's FAR from easy.
We also started watching "I Can Make You Thin" on TLC. My sister told me that it was interesting and I should check it out. So Terry and I tuned in on Friday night and it was pretty good.
It was pretty basic (although I really wish I would have been able to see the first episode) stuff like - chew your food 20 times, wait till you are hungry to eat, stop when you are full - that kind of thing. But it was interesting because it was more about a way of thinking and different types of distractions. It's hard to explain. I wonder if this is why they call him a hypnotist in Europe. (Paul McKenna) Anyway - it seems to be at least helping! Terry and I both lost 3 pounds this weekend. :)
Alright - I gotta get to work! But I'm going to try and walk at lunch if it stops raining!!
