Before After

5 months + no sleep = ZOMBIE!!

So like I said on my last post, my hubby and I have been on Weight Watchers. I obviously have not been taking it very seriously up to this point, which is really dumb considering it is costing me about $40 a month on our very tight budget!

I'm a stay at home mom (a victim of the 2008 layoffs) but I am enjoying my time at home and we used it as an opportunity to have our second child while I would already be home to take care of him and my daughter at the same time. Daycare is EXPENSIVE!!!

After my son, Kyle, was born, we were all ready to get on the healthy bandwagon. We joined WW and vowed to start exercising. But things didn't go totally to plan considering it's MUCH harder to keep up with a 4 year old and a newborn at the same time. My poor house was never spotless to start with, and now it looks more like a hurricane hit pretty much all the time. Usually it's all I can do just to keep us in clean clothes and dishes to eat off of. ;)

Then for me the big problem is this - my husband has an hour long commute in the mornings, so we decided together that in order for him not to kill himself falling asleep at the wheel back and forth to work, I would need to to be the get-up-at-night-gal for the kids. He gets up around 6:00 and feeds them while I sleep in till he leaves at 8:00, but most nights I'm up a minimum of twice or a max of 4 or 5. Even if you are only getting up for 5 min to grab a lost binkie or talk about a nightmare, you are still interrupting your deep sleep and I end up tired ALL THE TIME.

But, finally, after 5 months, Kyle is starting to only wake up once a night and goes right back to sleep after I find his pacifier. So I'm starting to be at least a little less tired on a daily basis. Hopefully this means I'll be able to make a little smarter decisions about what I eat and be able to keep up with the housework enough I have time to make a healthy dinner for all of us. And maybe.... just maybe.... actually get some exercise in. ;)
