Plastic Surgery Poll

Okay, I wanted to take a poll of how many people have considered plastic surgery.  If money wasn't an issue, would you do it, and if so, what would you get done?

If you haven't been with me for a while, you may not know that I've had plastic surgery.  I had a breast lift with small implants and a tummy tuck.

I've had six pregnancies and have also gained and lost weight several times, which left lots of droopiness.  My breasts were really bad and I hated them.  I had them lifted, which removes quite a bit of skin, so I had small implants to make up for the loss of skin.  I also had a flap of skin removed off my tummy that was basically just saggy loose skin.  GROSS!  I could not be more pleased with the results of both areas!

I go back to my surgeon today for a check-up, and I may consider asking about a thigh lift.  I have some saggy skin on my upper thighs that will not go away with exercise or weight loss.....it's just stuck there!

So anyway, I just wanted to take a poll of anyone who's had any plastic surgery, who has considered it, and who would never get it done.

Is there a dog chasing us?

So as I said earlier, hubby was running with me today after work.  We decided to take a 5K route.  It was really hot, by the way.

At one point, I had to look back and make sure there was not a pit bull chasing us....hubby was keeping a much faster pace than we normally keep.  But no dog was back there.   We ended up finishing the 5K in about 27 minutes....which is much faster than we normally do.  We usually keep about a 10-minute mile, but today was about a 9-minute mile!

Hubby is getting so much better at running!  I'm so proud of him.  I'm trying to talk him into a half marathon in October.  We have time to keep training!

After we got home, I decided I wanted to run a little more because today should have been my longer route.  So my 6-year-old son and I set out around the neighborhood.  He rode his bike while I ran beside him.  He did really good pacing me.....I might have to take him more often!  I had to run fast enough where he wouldn't have to stop.  (He's not very good at stopping on the bike, it's more like jumping off while the bike is still moving....haha.)  Anyway, we went about 2 miles and he did really good.  He LOVES riding his bike.

Tonight the family had Papa John's pizza.  I ate a Lean Cuisine pizza instead, but I did have one bread stick....and it was sooooo delicious!  Oh well, you have to splurge sometimes, right?

I hope everyone had a great night.  I'm exhausted so I'm heading to bed.  Talk to all my peeps tomorrow!!

Sore Track Star

When I got home from work yesterday my daughter told me that she had to "shuffle" at school because her legs were so sore from our run together.  Poor baby!  She's out of shape right now, and her mommy put a whooping on her!

I ran on the track yesterday.  I only did 3 miles since I did 6.3 on Sunday.  Hubby is running with me today so I'm not sure how far we will go.

Thanks to everyone for your sweet comments.  You guys keep me motivated!

Have you seen Finding Nemo?  I love that movie!  Anyway, remember when Dory is singing, "Just keep swimming...."?  That's what I sing when I'm running and start to lose motivation....I sing it in Dory's voice too, of course.  "Just keep running.  Just keep running, running, running.  What do we do?  We run, run, run."  I'm goofy, I know!!  But hey, whatever works, right?

Have a great Tuesday, people!  LOVE YA!

Beat the track star!

My 15-year-old daughter has been on the track team for the past 3 years.  She always runs cross country.  Although she did track this year, she hasn't run at all since the season ended.  She's gained a little weight and decided yesterday that she "is going to get healthy."

She knew I would be going for a run yesterday so she decided to join me.  Well, she stayed with me for about a half a mile, then she began to lag behind.  Before I knew it, she was way behind.  I would slow down, but she didn't seem to catch up.  I decided to take a cul-de-sac, which would give her the opportunity to catch up as I made the circle.  Well, she caught up and said, "Mom, I'm dying."  I couldn't help but smile....she was the "track star" last year and won an award.....and I'm whooping her at running....hehe...I asked her if she wanted some water, she said, "No, I'm just dying."

By this point, we had only ran 14 minutes, about a mile and a half.  She decided to quit and walk back.  I continued to run and caught up with her, she was standing on a corner waiting for me...thinking I was almost done.  I motioned as I got closer that I was making a left-hand turn down another street......she, in turn, just motioned for me to go ahead and shook her head no.  She went home!  haha.....

I ended up doing 6.30 miles.  It took me about 65 minutes, but it felt fab-u-lous!  The weather had been chilly so I almost didn't go....but changed my mind....once I got running, I warmed up and the weather was perfect.  I wasn't hot and I wasn't cold.....just right.

I BEAT THE TRACK STAR......  :)    :)    :)

Where did my hips go, anyway?

I'm happy to report that I've lost another 1.5 inches off my hips!  YEAH, BABY!  My hips are down to 34 inches.  Take a guess at what they started at?  Can you say 43 inches?  WHAT?  I said, "43 inches!"  This running thing is paying off like crazy.  That's 1.5 inches in about 3 weeks.

I also lost another .5 inches off my waist and about .5 inches off each thigh!

I am sad to report, though, that my boobs have shrunk more.    I went to Victoria's Secret last night and got remeasured because I can tell they've shrunk again.  They are now down to 34D, but I'll take it because they are still proportioned to my body.  It's amazing how good a fitted bra fits after wearing the wrong size!  If you've never been fitted before, you need to.  You're probably wearing the wrong size too.

I went a little crazy at Victoria's Secret!!  I bought all new panties, about 12 new pairs.  It's amazing how cute panties are when you get down to a smaller size.  No more granny panties for me!!  haha....you know what I'm talking about.    I also bought three new bras and 2 new sports bras.

The weather is chilly here today.  I wanted to go running, but I think I'll wait and see if it warms up some.

We just got back from Home Depot.  We bought more stuff for the yard.  It's looking great.  Hubby has been working hard on it lately.  Maybe I'll post a picture when it's all done.

We saw Spiderman 3 yesterday.  It was good.  We all love Spiderman so we couldn't wait to go.  We bought tickets about an hour before the show, and hubby was nice enough to wait in the line with our coats and then save our seats while we mall shopped for a while.  He's such a sweet hubby!!

I hope everyone is having a great weekend!!

Weigh-in results

Not bad....down .8 this week!  :)   I'll take it!  That puts me at 130.4, slowly inching towards the GOAL!!

Last night, hubby and I ran 2.5 miles on the track.  I found it difficult because I was dehydrated.  But this morning, we ran 4 miles and it felt great!  There were even some hills!  Hubby did so good.  He is getting addicted to the running too, I think.  He said he could have even gone farther but I had to get cleaned up before my weigh-in so we didn't have time.  Maybe tomorrow?

I hope everyone is doing great!

HELL WEEK IS OVER!!

Hi, my dear friends!  I missed you all.

Guess what??  Hell week is over, and it went better than I expected.  Very stressful and busy but a manageable stress level.  Plus it helped staying in the hotel...by the time I got to the hotel each night, I ate, took a shower....then it was bed time!

I did squeeze in a few runs, so I logged in 13.50 miles this week.  As far as eating, I didn't do too bad.  I have weigh-in tomorrow, keep your fingers crossed.  I don't know what will happen since I didn't get in as much exercise.

I will check in on all of you this weekend.  I hope you had a great week!!

Drum roll, please......

I LOST 2 POUNDS THIS WEEK!!  Woo Hoo!!  Happy Dance!!  That's a big loss for me....my losses since half way have been slow and usually small.

Okay, so if you want to go buy some workout stuff, run to the store instead of driving!!  That's what hubby and I did last night.  I bought a stop watch the other day and didn't like it.  Since I wanted to take it back to the mall and needed to do my daily run, hubby suggested we run to the mall.  So we did.

We live about 2 miles from the mall (so we did 4 miles last night).  We had to run through the neighborhood, along a highway, and up and down dirt trails.  We came across birds, 2 ducks, and 8 bunnies!  Funny, huh?  I loved the trails but hated running along the busy highway....the cars were so loud and it was distracting.  Hubby did great keeping up with me!!  Yeah, hubby!!  I enjoyed the trails so much that I want to find some more trails to run around here.  Does anyone do any trail running?

We took back the stop watch and bought me a Nike Ipod kit and a camelback.  We bought hubby an LED reflective armband.

I have an Ipod Video but the Nike Ipod kit only works with the Ipod Nano, so I was going to borrow my daughter's Nano.....but my wonderful hubby decided to go ahead and buy me a Nano last night as my early Mother's Day gift.  Sweet, huh?

You know I couldn't wait to use my new Nike Ipod kit, so I got up and went for a run this morning.  I played music on my Ipod so I could use the program.  I kept it at a low volume so it wasn't too distracting.

Let me say, I LOVE the camelback.  It's a small one and I always need water!  And I LOVE the Nike Ipod kit.  A voice comes on over the music and tells me how I'm doing on my run!  I ended up running 4.75...so I could be at an even number for the week.  I ran 24 miles this week...which is way over my goal of 15 miles.  Yeah, me!

Oh yeah, about the shoe inserts....they are wonderful.  I wore them all day Friday (even though the directions said break them in over 3 days).  I even wore them on my run last night and this morning.  They fit great!!

Well, as you know, next week is my crazy week.  I'm staying in a hotel starting tomorrow night because it's going to be long hours and lots of stress, and I can't have any outside distractions, plus I won't have to deal with as much traffic.  I have packing to do and some prep work to do before tomorrow.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend so far.  Mine is fabulous so far.  And THANK EACH ONE OF YOU for your support, encouragement, and skinny vibes!  I love you guys.

Friday, Friday, Friday!!

Although I'm happy it's Friday, it does bring me closer to my stressful week next week.  I guess I better enjoy the weekend!!

Last night I didn't get my run in until late (after dinner).  It was chilly and cloudy, but I still went.  Hubby told me that I should take a day off, of course I didn't want to.....but I did make it a shorter run because I've run every day since Monday.  I did 2 miles, no Ipod, and it felt good.  Again, an easy pace, about a 10-minute mile pace.

Yesterday I bought some moldable shoe inserts.  They were featured in Runner's World.  You put them in the oven for 2 minutes, put them in your shoe, put your shoe on and lace them up, then stand for 2 minutes while they mold to your foot.  I'm wearing them now and they feel great.  I have a high arch, so this puts support on my arch.

I have weigh-in tomorrow.  Please cross your fingers for me and send me some skinny vibes!

Happy Friday!!

Ipod or no Ipod, that is the question

Yesterday I decided to do a test to see if I run better with or without the Ipod.

I ran the first 5 laps with the Ipod and it felt strangely uncomfortable....after having ran without it the day before.  Distracting almost.

I then ran without the Ipod, and oddly enough, I decided that I run better without the Ipod.  It's hard to explain why.  I think because the music is mostly fast music and it makes me push too fast, which becomes frustrating and difficult to keep up.

When I don't have it on, I tend to focus more on my breathing and my pace, which makes the run more comfortable.  The control of your breathing and pace can make all the difference in the world between an uncomfortable run and one "in the zone".  :)   I now know the difference...yeah!!

So I ran 5 miles yesterday.  Seemed like a piece of cake!  I did the first 5 laps (with Ipod) and didn't think I would go very far, but the remainder of the laps seemed easier (without Ipod).  I was due at bowling so I was only going to do about 2 miles...but when 2 miles came, I decided a little longer, then a little longer...and so on, until I finally had to leave at the 5 mile point.  I'm really liking this running stuff.

Today I will probably make it a shorter run so I don't exhaust myself!!

Thank you all for the nice remarks about my running and "gun show".  You all are so supportive and I appreciate your comments!
