My wonderful hubby doesn't sabotage me on purpose, but sometimes he convinces me to eat out even when I had no intentions! I know I should have self control and just say no, but it would suck to watch him eat takeout in front of me!!
Last night, I had perfect intentions of having a Boca burger for dinner with some vegetables. I went to the gym after work and did 35 minutes on the treadmill and 35 minutes on the bike, so I was feeling very disciplined.
On my way home, hubby called and said that the rest of the family was going on a boat ride and it was just the two of us. He said he didn't want to cook and what should we eat. I said I didn't know. Then he suggested he get Chipotle while I took my bath. Well, folks, I have a very soft spot for Chipotle, and I caved! I pigged out on a burrito bowl and chips/salsa. I was so disappointed, but it sure tasted awesome! Sigh.......
I should have just told hubby to eat his food at Chipotle while I took my bath and then I could have made my Boca burger later and ate by myself. He just made it sound so good, though!
So it's back to the gym again tonight to make up for all those Chipotle calories.....

I think...
they don't understand. While I was about four months into my weight loss journey, my hubby asked if I wanted to go to Burger King. Burger King?!!! I love their mustard whoppers! I told him that it made me sad that he was tempting me. He was truly surprised and said he thought I had the urges under control. No way!!! Fast forward two years, I am still having the same weaknesses. What is it about food that makes us drawn to it? Is it that immediate gratification? I still can't understand. When I look at some food, why do I lose control? He just doesn't get that I am not as strong as he thinks I am. I tell him and now he has a better understanding. He knows that certain things, I just can't handle. Now if I could get the kids to understand. Ack!!!!
I do, but then again, he could also claim the same ... as I'm as bad a sabateur, put us together and we're just bad!! LOL!
Which is why we never go grocery shopping together any more ... it was always a case of "well, if he's having that ... then I'll have this" and vice versa! It proved expensive on the purse and the waistline!!
But it's over. And you exercised. So count it a splurge and move on.
Sometimes I think I LET DH sabotage me. You know?! I mean, I sorta kinda plant the idea and then let him go with it like it was his idea. Maybe my way of not being accountable. Oh, wow! Revelation here!
Wow 2 weeks is all it took for your passports? That is awesome!! I hope ours come in just as quickly. We are going to the Bahamas on a Disney Cruise next October. It is a first cruise for me and DD as well!
sounds like we've got the same problem! my BF constantly invites me to eat out because (supposedly) he doesn't want me to have to cook after a long day. I don't mind cooking! I wish he would just say, "Hey, I'm craving bbq, i'm heading to the corner to get myself some" and be done with it! Instead, he has to drag my butt into it, and of course once it's in my mind that i could be eating bbq, i don't want to say no!
My hubby is supportive but i do wish he was better and more willing in the kitchen.
Now my mum, phew! That's a whole different story!
The Wii Fit - I love it :D Okay, it's hardly a big burning workout but it's fun. Saying that I only really do the balance and aerobics - not gone near the yoga or muscle workouts yet as they look a bit hard for me at the mo.
Sounds like you need a plan re food - mind you, I have a weekly plan but that doesn't stop me falling off the wagon.
Thanks for the comment on my Blog and Pic. I have to say though that the pic was from a year ago... before nursing school.. I will bet pack to that. I am not as big as my top pic but I am not 165 lbs either.
For your support on my blog! I guess yesterday was a difficult day for goals for all of us. :) I completely understand your situation. My partner frequently (and unintentionally) sabotages my meal plans. Oh well. Your burrito sounds great though. :)
LOL I am always saying "hey, lets have burritos" or "how about a pizza?" But thats ok once in awhile. When we were both in the midst of losing weight, we were both very supportive of eachother. Now that we both reached our goal, I like to cheat sometimes, but he's still really good about his food choices. Hey, at least I'm not going to Taco Bell every Tuesday like the olden days!! :)
I love your idea about the Cherry Blossom Run in April!!!! I love DC! We've been twice and both times we just had an absolute blast! I bet I could get my husband to go for that one since his best friend lives in Falls Church.
I really needed someone to tell me to step away from the chocolate.
My boyfriend's pretty supportive, and I'm the one who keeps suggesting take outs, especially when it's my turn to cook coz I'm so lazy! But he kicks me off the couch and makes me cook, which is awesome of him. Plus I get to save on money too! :) I should listen to him more often... hehe...
My BF is really supportive. I think I should be gratefull cause it sounds like I'm lucky to have him. He stopped buying unhealthy snacks and started snacking on veggies and baked pretzels. Also he's an amazing cook and started changing his meals so that they're healthier. I should thank him when he gets home.
Don't worry about the splurge cause you made up for it with the extra exercise. Keep positive!
My husband loves all kinds of junk and, worse than takeaway is Free Home Delivery!! Since I get home way after he does, sometimes he's already ordered something and is offering it to me!! It's even worse when he offers me a beer in the evenings when I have had a long day and would really love to knock one back.
It's only recently that I have actually learned to say no to SOME things (no way can I say it's a battle won!)
