Today I actually started on my quest to lose 15 pounds by Christmas. Yes, if you read through my blogs you'll see I tried this before - but hey, if you don't try you'll never get anywhere right?
So far - raisin bran with ff milk - 4 points, slimfast - 5 points. Went to the gym at lunch and did 45 minutes. Drank 4 glasses of water (I'm a bit behind on the water)
Feeling pretty good. Now, if I can just get through dinner. It's tough. I have no idea what I'm having - nothings planned. I've got to find some recipes that are easy, family friendly and fast.
Ok, so I disappeared for awhile. I'm going to do it again next week as I'm going to Italy for vacation! :) Yippee.
While I was gone, I had a rough summer - my asthma's been at it's worst thus, no exercising unfortunately - somehow I've managed to keep my weight from going through the roof, even on the steroid inhaler and despite the prednisone I ended up taking for the nasty chest infection....
Tried to lose weight for the trip but it was just too much stress. I've definitely got to have everything very disciplined in order to be successful and I just couldn't make it this summer.
But - try, try and eventually you'll succeed - right???
So last night I'm lying on the floor at around 10:30 at night watching a movie - I have a nightgown on that reaches my calves - I look down and man - you'd think I was 6 months prego! Unbelievable. Yes, I am very good at hiding it in clothes, but here it is, the real thing. Belly fat. Lots of it. No wonder I can no longer fit in my size 10's!!! It's the dang belly!
All my work journaling yesterday - this is what I found.....
Breakfast:
egg whites w/veggies - 1
2 pc lite bread toasted w/reduced fat p but (1 tsp) - 3
coffee w/lite cream - 1
Lunch:
2 pc pizza - 12
Dinner:
pc bread w/butter - 3
Fajitas (3 wraps) - 27
Dessert:
Few bites of son's ice cream - 2
Total Points: 47. Yes, that is definitely way too many!!!!
Must try harder to eat healthier ALL THE TIME! Not just at work, but all the time!!!
Apparently I am not going to get anywhere until I make a concious effort to chronicle what I'm eating. I am definitely eating more calories than I'm burning despite added exercise....So I'm going to journal for the week and see what happens! The weight is just not budging!
Tomorrow afternoon I plan on going to a flea market and doing a lot of walking, then jumping in the pool at home and swimming for a few hours - lots more swimming over the weekend as we got our new pool set up! :o)
I've decided I'm not going to weigh until next Monday. I can already hear the drum roll....
This morning I got my determination back. I've been lagging a bit, but being depressed about a plateau is not going to help me. I think the best solution is a positive attitude towards the direction I'm heading.
Kids are excited but of course it's hectic, today at lunch I'll be running to pick up all the gifts for the teachers, bus driver, etc., tonight is the church youth awards night, DD has a huge project due by Friday she's not even halfway finished.....uggh
My weekend was great - it was long and wonderful - looking forward to this weekend too - we bought a new pool for the kids so will be getting it set up, the yard cleaned up, the patio ready for summer - very exciting.
Guess everyone else is busy too - by the way -
Happy Anniversary Ayala!
Hope everyone else is doing well - I've got my new goals for June ready!!!
June Goals
Gym everyday at lunch - Cardio/Weight/Cardio/Weight
Concentrate on Journaling points, water, exercise
Have weekly meals planned on Saturday, along with purchasing what's needed ahead of time
Start a Saturday morning bike run for the family
Get DH & DD eating better!!!
Keep up with EP
Do NOT weigh every day - DO once a week
You'll notice there are no pounds mentioned here - I'm going to do something different for June and concentrate more on healthy eating/activity than the quest for losing weight. Maybe if my focus is not on the scale, I'll have more positive impact!
Ok, so no, I haven't gone out and bought a new scale yet, but I did check the gym scale yesterday and it agreed with my home scale. So imagine my confusion when I woke up this morning and weighed 2 pounds more. Is it because I had 2 small pieces of pizza yesterday for dinner (high sodium)?
I admit I'm having a harder time drinking water than usual (with the frigid temps indoors) - so I'm guessing that's it.
DH said last night (once again) that come this weekend he's going to WW. I hope he is saying the same thing Sat a.m. cuz' I really need his help getting my act together. I just can't seem to do it on my own! At least if he's on board, we'll be sure to be eating healthy!
I do good all day at work but when I go home or on the weekends I completely lose all the hard work and gain that 1-2 pounds right back! Uggh.
It's only 18 more pounds - why is it so difficult!!??
