Bit of a catch up

Its been quite a while since i visited this site and wrote on my blog.  Dont know if anyone will still remember me or even be interested - but for my own benefit i wanted to catch everyone up things.

Well i did really well and managed to maintain my weight for several months - eating low fat - but the pain from the gallstones gradually got worse and worse.  I ending up not being able to eat ANYTHING at all
withhout being in absoloute agaony.
I became a regular in A&E deperately in need of Morphine injections to give me some relief from the constant pain.  In the end i was on Morphine tablets 3 times a day, and then had Oromorph - liquid Morphine - on top of that when i was having an attack.  My life pretty much seemed like a blur - i couldnt function properly at all, constantly of work - no good at all Eventually they brought my op forward and on the 5th March  i had my gallbladder out.  They found 16 gallstones.

I had keyhole surgery and recovered really quickly and unfortunately began to try the foods i had missed for so long - needless to say over the last couple of weeks i have put about 10 lbs back on - but i have reigned it in now.

Ive decided to try Weightwatchers points - so any tips from you proffessionals much appreciated.  I want to try this healthily this time - good food - more exercise - rather than go to the extreme of cambridge again.

Wish me luck folks.  I'm going to catch up now on bloggs etc.

Every cloud...

Well i am thrilled that after seeing my regular GP - a gallbladder op is now on the cards - so there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Im completely off Cambridge - but am now using the Hip and thigh diet to help me control my fat intake.  Feeling loads more in control of the gallstone pain and eating loads of good nutritious food.  I honestly dont feel like i am on a diet - i would be happy to maintain at the moment, however the scales still seem to be moving down.  Very slowly - but that is fine.  Once xmas is out of the way i fully intend to step up the diet, and when i have the gallstone op - i think you have to have liquids only for a while - so - things are looking up.

I am also feeling so so excited about Christmas!!!

Little black number

Crikey - its been a bloody aweful couple of weeks.  Gallstones have been confirmed - but my GP says they are stillsmall and so they probably wont operate unless they keep causing pain.

The pain is AWEFUL - worse than childbirth.  last night i was nearly faining with the pain, and throwing up - and all id eaten was a chicken sandwich.

I desperately want to come off the cambridge diet - but everything i seem to eat causes pain.

Anyway - its our works xmas 'do' on Friday.  We are heading to the 'Comedy Store' in Manchester - meal too - though i might have to give that part a miss.

Diet has gone through the window lately - ive beeneating whatevcer i  can keep down - but today when i weighed in id losty another 3lb - so - not all bad, just rather slow.  My health is more important.

Hope im OK for Friday - i have  bought a couple of new dresses off ebay, and i have to say that losingnearly 4 stone is really showing now!  One dress is a Monsoon pink lonf flowing number and the other is a really classy long black dress.  Both fabulous so i am spoiled for choice - Ohh and im having Friday off work and going having my hair cut.

Hope you are all well and still losing - im going to catch up on blogs etc now.

I'm hobbling from one crisis to another!!

After an agonising night and emergency GP appointment - they think i may now have Gallstones.

My GP did not blame the diet at all but i have done some of my own research online, and some quarters reckon rapid weight loss can increse the risk of developing - or even of non symptomatic gallstones becoming symptomatic, substantially.

I would suggest anyone concerned speaks to their GP!!  This is agony!:vsad

Ironic - but GP said liquid only diet until after a scan!!

Saturday - Saturday!

Well, i had the scan on my leg yesterday - but because of my lymphoedema they cant be certain of the result.  They said they are pretty sure its fine.  Ive been giving myself injections in my stomache all week.  Crikey - i dont know how diabetics do it.  Oneweek, and im caving in.

I have lost another 2lb this week - which i am really pleased with.  Last weekend i was really off the plan!  We went for an Indian which was a great night, then all weekend i was nibibleing!  Anyway Monday came and i reigned things back in - hence the loss.  I suppose i have the choice - carry on nibbleinfg and things will come off lots slower or go for the motorway route and get the quick results.  Hmmmm.  because its weekend i feel like the scenic route is more doable - but then on Monday it will probably be back to the straight and narrow!!

Im loving the changes in my shape.  Its good ive got some smaller clothes in the back of my w

Trauma in A+E

Hiya - well weigh in day after finishing my antibiotics finally last Monday - now very much back on track.  Lost 3lb which i am really pleased about - thats 3stone 4lb.

I have been having a lot of pain in my right knee.  Around the outside edge and round the back of the knee is worst - and it keeps giving way - particularly down stairs or downhill.  really painful and the pain began to radiate up my leg this morning - so i decided to get it checked out at the hospital for fear of blood clots because i have been inactive lately.

3 hrs later and after 3 attempts to get blood - i was xrayed and told they were fine.  Cant get `to have a scan till next Wednesday - so they gave me a blood thinning injection and told me to go back tomorow and then i could do my own injections for the next week.  Better safe and all that..

Anyway by the time i got home from my weigh in there was a message to say i need to ring the hospital as i now have a scan booked tommorow.  ~Think i am pleased - but does this mean my blood test results arent good.  Not sure.

Leg still very painful.  Nearly weekend - so can take it a bit easier then.

On the mend

Still on the antibiotics - but feelings loads better.  Last weekend was lovely with Brooke - she is trying to say all the nursery rhymmes now - adorable.

Works been chaotic - my business manager has gone off to India for meditiation and focus groups - sounds much better than we have had at work - today for example a compaint to deal with, then youth nuisance issues and the police - then a drains exciting - Oh so exciting!!

At my weigh in today i had lost a pound.  I was chuffed realy ecause my leg is still very swollen and i have been eating all week.

Should be back on my plan from Monday.

Getting there

Been off work now for 4 days - which feels rather strange.  I havent has any sick days in two years! Really bored.

Ironic that last monday i was saying how hectic the week would be - and instead i have been bored to tears - sat with my legs up recovering.  The antibiotics are kicked in now - had a great nights sleep last night and the pain has reduced this morning which is a good sign.

The diet has pretty much goneout of the window -i have had to line my stomache because the tablets made me feel sick.  So i have ended ep eating what i fancy.  Funnily enough what i fanciedhas been very healthy - crikey my tastes have changed.  Hubby cooked me a bacon butty the other day and i suffered for the whole day with heartburn - other than that light meals and salads.  So - i might not have lost much this week - but i shouldnt have put on either - which is fine.

My grand-daughter Brooke is coming to stay tonight - cant wait.  She is 15 months old now and saying more and more every time i see her.  The girls have promisedto help out because im still not on top form - mmm - we'll see!

Poorly sick!!

An horendous day.  Ive developed cellulitus in my legs - so horrendous headache, pain in my leg and my lymph nodes, pulse really high,  if no better in 48 hrs will have to go into hospital for intravenous antibiotics.  Am now on a high dose of oral antibiotics, but they upset my stomache -so i will have to come off my diet and line my stomache a bit.  Bugger....worth it though if i can speed up getting right again. So, the scenic route with the diet yet again, but im not giving up...however long it takes.

Weigh in

Amazing - after my mid week crisis last week and gaining 2lb - i have managed to pull it round - and have lost 3lb since my last weeks weigh in.  I am so, so pleased.

Thats 3 stone lost now - dead chuffed
