I drank water all day and that's it!! I know I need veggies and fruit, so I was wondering if those V8 drinks would do it??? I'm on this pill so I can't eat anymore than that!! I work at night so I have pack something simple to eat, so I don't have to run up town, cause we only get 30 min supper. The bad thing is I have to make myself eat. I am going to eat a hot dog today (light hotdog on wheat buns) for lunch cause I get sick of the same old stuff EVERYDAY!! Well anyways I gotta run the baby is calling!!

V-8 is great!

The regular veggie V-8 is okay, but if you get those, make absolutely sure you get the low sodium stuff.  And buy a package of drinking straws.  The stuff tastes like liquid celery, and if you use a straw it barely has to touch your tongue on the way down.  Otherwise, the blends are REALLY good - the ones that taste kind of like a fruit juice are great - there's a berry one that is really good once you get used to the slightly  carrot-y aftertaste.

Breakfast

You know, breakfast really IS the most important meal of the day.  It gets your metabolism going.  You might want to reconsider eating SOMEthing for breakfast.  Even if it's just fruit.

Anyway, you are doing an amazing job and should be proud no matter what!

V-8

V-8 counts and it taste much much better warmed like a soup in a coffee mug. Cold is nasty.

Breakfast

Tsk Tsk - you REALLY should eat breakfast.  As for V-8 I love the stuff.  Unfortunately I drink the regular stuff with sodium because it tastes so dang good!

Enjoy your day!

Color

I totally understand about the convenience factor.  If I can't grab it and go, it takes too much time.  With my little guy in his 2s, TIME is a luxury sometimes.

I once had a food counselor who talked about the colors on our plate.  Most of us in the U.S. eat white, beige and brown food.  Take a look at your plate and if you're missing vibrant color (reds, greens, oranges) V-8 is a great way to balance out your meals.

Some other ideas that you might consider - grab a bag of romaine lettuce and a tomato and put a couple of leaves and a tomato slice on your chicken sandwich.  Virtually zero calories, but lots of water content and fiber.  Start small and as you get used to eating more of the stuff, you'll start to crave it.  Really!   Make a mini salad with just greens and tomato and have that with your lunch or dinner.

More portable colorful food ideas: plums, oranges, tangerines, bananas, green peppers (I have one almost every day), tomatoes, apples, sugar snap peas.   All of these, virtually "free" foods calorie-wise.  Tasty and help fill you up, too.

Anyway, just a couple of ideas for you.   I know it's hard to fit the fruits and veggies in sometimes.  I hope you're feeling better, too... You're doing great!
