I'm being perfectly angelic, I'm exercising 6 times a week, the weight is not going.

Thinking about it, the last time I weighed 9st was when I was at university when I was about 19, about 9 years ago. My body shape has changed a lot since then and maybe 9st is not a comfortable weight for my body any more.

I am now a size 10 and, except for a little bit of flab on my belly, I'm pretty happy with my figure. The flab should eventually go as I continue to run and if I lose just a few more lbs I think it'll be good enough. So the new plan is lose another 3lbs, focus on maintaining and running, stop beating myself up about not losing any more weight.

Feel better already.

Comments(2) 369479 Wednesday, October 31, 2007 23:03:04 Oh FFS :-( http://www.extrapounds.com/blog/oysterboy/comments/368406/oh-ffs-

Stayed the same this week. It's a different method of running that focuses on picking up your feet with your core muscles rather than pushing off with your toes. It is supposed to prevent injury as is much less impact on your joints and muscles. I gave it a go on my run today and managed my longest run so far of 9.5miles in 1h30mins. After 7 miles I still felt great, barely out of breath. The last couple of miles were harder because my legs had had enough. But now I'm not achy or sore at all. If it's as good as it seems then it's very exciting indeed
Comments(2) 367324 Thursday, November 1, 2007 00:02:13 Another lb bites the dust http://www.extrapounds.com/blog/oysterboy/comments/367058/another-lb-bites-the-dust
So I've only got 8lbs to go now but I'm getting more and more impatient. I want to be at goal!!!!!!!!! I've been doing this since January and it's taking ages
Comments(2) 367058 Tuesday, October 30, 2007 21:01:03 Lost an expected 1lb http://www.extrapounds.com/blog/oysterboy/comments/364128/lost-an-expected-1lb
Very pleased that I've lost this week as I wasn't expecting it all. Yesterday the scales showed a STS and I went to Jamie Oliver's new restaurant for lunch and had truffle tagliatelle which was cooked in butter and covered with parmesan, as well as 1/2 bottle of merlot. Hurrah for the scales being kind

My run was rubbish this morning. My leg started hurting and I only did 3 miles. I've stretched it out and given it a massage and it feels ok now. I'm resting it tomorrow before my long run of 7.5 miles on Sunday.

I did have a little test of some new kit today. I've got a 1.5L camelbak and although not needed on short runs I think it's about time I started drinking some water on the long ones. It was really comfortable actually, barely noticed it. I've also bought some new tights, a ear warming headband thing, some gloves and a reflective gillet. All set for winter running!
Comments(2) 364128 Tuesday, October 30, 2007 23:07:09 Gained http://www.extrapounds.com/blog/oysterboy/comments/362311/gained
I got back from my holiday on Monday and the scales today show a 0.5lb gain. . My holiday was all inclusive and I ate 3 large, but healthy, meals every day and drank lots of booze every day. I only went to the gym twice at the hotel as well. I guess 0.5lb isn't so bad.

It only took me 1 day on the beach before I felt comfortable in my bikini. There were many bodies that were more lumpy than mine and most of the woman looked relaxed and confident. I adopted the same approach. The best way to look good in a bikini is to pretend that you look good in a bikini. Soon I was strutting around imagining that I looked like Kelly Brook and feeling fine about showing so much flesh.

I now have 11lbs until goal and it is also 11 weeks until Christmas so that's the target. Goal by Christmas. I'm going to do it even if I have to lose a limb.

Went for my first post holiday run last night. It was such hard work. I'm hoping that my body is used to the idea and again now though and I'm going to do 6.5 miles tomorrow. Before I went away I did that in 57 minutes. I think this week I'll take it as slow as my body wants to take it until I settle back into things. 155 days until my half marathon. I need to get training!
Comments(1) 362311 Tuesday, October 30, 2007 23:00:02 Measly little half lb http://www.extrapounds.com/blog/oysterboy/comments/357428/measly-little-half-lb
That's all I lost this week but it's better than another stay the same I guess. 11lbs to go until goal.

Watching the half marathon last week was great and meeting the runners I met online was even better. They were full of tips and encouragment and I felt inspired by their enthusiasm and obvious love of running. I can't wait until I'm one of them instead of a spectator. Still a bit scared as well though!

I bought another bikini yesterday for my holiday and I feel pretty good in it actually. I'm quite looking forward to hitting the beach and popping my bikini cherry
Comments(1) 357428 Saturday, December 8, 2007 23:09:02 Stayed the same this week http://www.extrapounds.com/blog/oysterboy/comments/355960/stayed-the-same-this-week
I was really very annoyed at first. Those scales just didn't want to shift this week. But I've got 11lbs to go and I'm not overweight any more so my body will cling to the last bits fat a little more stubbornly. I'll get there.

I ran 6 miles today in 57 minutes and it was great. I know that I should have only done 5.5 miles and that I've increased by more than 10% but I listened to my body and I felt great so I carried on. Will definitely only do 6.5 miles next week . I've moved away from the route by the river and sticking to the roads now I'm over my fear of people seeing me. There is a half marathon in my town tomorrow and I'm going along to watch jealously because I want to run it myself. After the race I'm going to meet a group of people I met on a running site online for a post race drink. They seem like a really friendly bunch and looking forward to meeting them.
Comments(0) 355960 Saturday, December 8, 2007 23:03:15 Fighting through the hangover http://www.extrapounds.com/blog/oysterboy/comments/354254/fighting-through-the-hangover
Lost 1.5lbs this week. 11.5lbs to go!

Just got back from a run, which I braved even though I have a hangover. My usual safe, people-free route was flooded due to the fact that it just won't stop raining so I had to brave the road. It was fine! In fact I think I'm going to run on the road next time as well. I did 5 miles and again my average speed 6.1mph. Felt really good after and could have carried on for longer but I'm going to build up slow and try and avoid injury. I'm going to do an easy 30 minutes tomorrow, same again on Tuesday, intervals on Thursday then 5.5miles next Saturday. Look at me enjoying exercise. Who'd have thought it.
Comments(1) 354254 Sunday, December 9, 2007 00:06:06
