Before After

Row, row, row ya boat

Anyhoo, after a looooong delay I decided to begin posting to my blog again. I had joined WW but quit, after I tired of the monthly fee - a bit steep. So I got a rowing machine.

Let's just say, my super sedintary self rebelled against such an effective form of exercise. 1st time on the machine - 5 minutes. Then I had to take a nap. The 2nd time I got on, (during the same day) I was able to go 6 minutes. A bit of improvement. So I decided to try again, and this time I muscled through the aches, the twinges and gasped my way through the 'deep breaths' and managed to row 2 miles. It took 20 minutes. But as a start I am rather proud of myself. Really rather proud . . . So tomorrow morning, I am aiming for 2.5 miles, or 30 minutes.

I am not at the stroke rate where you get the most benefit yet, but I will get there eventually. Seriously? I am not too worried, I have only had the machine for a day - and I have managed more exercise then I have in the previous 6 months.

No, I am not updating my weight. It is higher then the weight listed. But
I find the upward spike very demoralizing, and I use it as an excuse to slack-off. Since I know I have defeatist tendencies, I will simply have to work around them and row, row, row, myself a newer, firmer, tighter physique

This post is dedicated to my friend who is kicking a$$, taking names and becoming a marathon machine. You rock.

Wow

You've done really well - I can't go for more than 3 minutes on a rowing machine!!  My folks have one, and I eye it with suspicion every time I see it!

HEY NA, MAMA!

(I commented last night, but that comment is lost in the cyberworld, apparently.)  Anyhoo, YAY YOU for getting back on board and blogging!  Hip Hip Hooray!  And that's awesome about the rowing.  I can't row for SH*T, so you row for me and I'll run for you, okay?

Thanks for the shout out.

Kicking a$$, taking names, and trying to become a marathon machine,

Lindy

THEY SAY IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY....

...WELL IT'S MY BIRTHDAY TOO!.  ok really it isn't, but that's the words to the song.  BUt anyway, just hollering a happy birthday shout-out to ya, even though we've already spoken once so far today.  I figure maybe a few months from now, should you happend to glance at your blog and see who else has been visiting here, since it DAMN sure ain't been you...well maybe it'll make you laugh.

Ciao

Just keep it up!

You are doing all the right things. Give yourself tiny increments daily - and keep them up. In a few days it will show on the scale and you'll notice after a while you are looking forward to exercising.
