A little less of me stateside.

Well I had a huge setback and gained about 10 pounds. That was just stress related, and eating my way through a work deadline. After the project was completed, and turned into the city I was able to step back and take a nice long look at my eating habits and get back into gear.

So, while my weight log looks like it has taken 3 months for me to lose 3 pounds – not quite. It has taken 3 months for me to gain 10 pounds, and lose it again. It has taken 1.5 months to undo one month of being completely off the rails and eating like it was about to go out of style.

I am doing really well on the low carb diet now. One thing that made it easier was changing my environment. There is a wonderful little coffee house one block from my office, and I would go there almost every afternoon and get a large latte and a piece of cake. Well I stopped going there altogether, for an entire one month.  

I told my friendly barista that for the sake of my diet, I can’t for visit them for a while. Considering the large percentage of my money that they got each week, ‘George’ was incredibly supportive. In fact, the other day when I cracked, he refused to sell me cake at all; which was just the wake up call I needed to not let the stress mess up my eating and send me careening off the rails for the fiftieth time.

Anyhoo . . . I am finally off the Italian sea. In fact, in exactly one week, I will be flying over the Atlantic Ocean heading towards Venice . I am so excited, that I can’t even be too disappointed that I am still so large. I am looking at this entire trip as a way of ‘abstaining from my triggers.’ I will be completely out of my environment, and have a chance to create a lifestyle that will support my weight loss without any negative influences, or stresses.

I still intend to reach my goal weight, and I plan on making huge strides during the 4 months that I am gone.

Perhaps I will update my blog again in a few weeks to let you all know how I am doing. But as of right now, I am really being dedicated about my weight loss, and I am losing weight again, getting catcalls from passing cars, and knowing that I am working everyday, and with every meal toward my ideal weight.

Hey, that's ok!  I'm just glad you're back on board, and leaving the cake alone!  I do hope you will update a few times a week whist in Italy...it'll be all that I have until your return to the states.
