Before After

my heart's not in this

Oh dear..... I'm not tracking and eating a load of rubbish. Mainly chocolate. I'm going to visit my cousin down in London today and we've got a night of drinking wine and eating Thai food to look forward to. Then my new man (!!!!!!) is cooking me dinner on Sunday night. He's a fabulous cook, but is a bit keen on adding butter to everything, frying things etc.... it all tastes damn good, but it's not helpful to the weightloss efforts.

Am tempted to write the rest of the week off until my weigh-in on Tuesday night and then start again fresh, but I can't face a gain either....

Sorry to hear you are struggling

Can I make a suggestion? Get a hold of a copy of Linda Spangle's book, 100 Days of Weight Loss. You will probably have to order it from Linda's website if it's not available in a bookstore in the UK. Her website and e-mail newsletter are very helpful, too. The newsletter has been a little erratic lately, because she is recovering from cancer surgery.

I'm working my way through the book right now, so you can read my comments about it, chapter by chapter on my blog. In fact, I just posted about Day Four, which is about the kind of diet extremism you are experiencing right now.

I urge you not to give up on your goals for a week. The more you give up, the easier it becomes to give up. Instead, start learning how to put boundaries on social occasions—one or two social occasions at which we allow a little splurging, but still keep in control, will result in a week of maintenance at the worst, and might even result in a small loss. But it won't if we give ourselves permission to let one social occasion cause us to abandon our goals for all of the rest of the days, and the next as well.

Don't give up! You can do this!

...

Don't give up on your goals for the week.  That's what I did and then I kept the same excuse until I hadn't tracked anything for about 8 weeks.  That resulted in a gain of 6 pounds.  You don't want that...
