Before After

Well okay... again

I've had 2 crazy weeks where I started at a company (adored this company) at a job completely unrelated to my resume and I was very happy about it when all of the sudden another company, that would look really good on my resume, contacted me and I had to make a decision.

I took the second company, having to leave the first one that I adored (and y'know, those doors rarely open again once you walk back out of them), so it was a lot of stress. And to get back to forum topic, it must have been the stress that kept my weight maintained because I was all about my "best" habits (beer/wine, cheese and crackers right before bed/eating out) for the whole 2 weeks.

So 161.5 this morning. I have a week before I start at the new place and lots of chores, vet appts, errands etc to get done. And if I'm good this week, I'll be more comfortable in my clothes at my new job. That's always nice. And I'll do better at this company if I look nice. I left the "road less shallow" for another job in marketing (/slaps forehead).

Anyways, I'm back again.

Well, okay...

I haven't really added water or substantial exercise yet, but my calorie count has been good =) I'll start the tracking thingy May 1st, even if I'm still 162.

My husband is dieting again too (we seem to gain and lose together).

Regrouping

Okay, let's see...

1. Went shopping. Bought my diet list. Hebrew Nats, ricecakes, etc... I remember these things.
2. Rode my bike to the store. It's like 2 blocks away. I can do that for about a week until I start my new job. Knee is kind of sore... yes, all very familiar.
3. Kept my calories low for a couple of days and dumped some water weight.
4. Woke up freakishly early this morning. Yes, it's all coming back to me now.

So what's left: drink more water, slowly start going out for walks more often to not gimp up my knee like last time, set up weight tracker (which I'll do at 160, I don't know why but I don't want to start it at 162)

Nox

Hi again =)

I'm not saying that I gained back some of the weight that I lost, it's more like I gained back some of the weight that I lost.

Anyways, good to see familiar names still here! I'll redo my tracker etc later this week. At least I don't have as much to lose this time!

That Was Fun

So I had 3 days in a row of movies, games, friends, drinking, more drinking, dining, more dining, presents, and it was a blast. I'll know the full diet damage tomorrow probably.

I wouldn't do it any differently if I could. That was all sorts of fun =)

Nox

Whoa.

So far my birtday has been a ton a fun. My husband came home with presents yesterday, and 3 of my friends logged into the new game I'm playing. I stayed up super late, drank wine, ended the day at ~1750 calories, including the wine calories. I didn't think that was so bad... maybe 450 calories more than I burned for the day. I let myself have whatever I wanted really and didn't think that was really that high for having a free-for-all.

And wow, look at how much my weight went up. I'm hoping it's just the salt from the canned artichoke hearts (marinated in water) that I ate on wasa rye crackers because it would totally suck to gain that much from 2 days.

Tonight we have more plans. We're going to a friend's house for a while this afternoon, then a small pack of us are heading downtown to dine, and watch some comedians spoof Footloose.  I intended to have more of the same... you know, some wine, some food. I really figured that I'd drink and dine over my birthday and try to maintain. Hello, I'm already up 3 lbs!

This week has been wonky for calories. I didn't feel well at the beginning of the week and had a 500 calorie day, and an 800 calorie day - then I followed those with a 2000 calorie day (not sure since we ate out) with wine calories, and a 1750 calorie day with wine calories... maybe I just finally pissed my body off. If you take the average of those, I'm probably right on target, but apparently it doesn't work like that =P

Anyways, since today is all birthday stuff, I expect another messy day for calories. I'm going to try not to worry about it. Since it doesn't look like I'm going to maintain, I'll just get used to the idea of working off what I gained.

Boing

And the weight bounces back up.

Yesterday was fun. Hung out with an old friend, ate out, saw Superman, drank a bunch of wine.

I really don't believe that ordering salads in restaurants is often any better than ordering anything else, but I ordered a salad and with all the nuts and candied berries figured it was a nice splurge salad. Even though I asked for dressing on the side, the poor salad was soaked in oil, and I've never really liked butter or oil... I wonder why they do that. I was guessing that the kitchen just made a mistake. It happens. (Next time I'll specify 'dry' as well as 'dressing on the side', but I really think that it was a kitchen error.)

I didn't justify it as a reason to send it back since I was more interested in the chips/queso anyways. And it was still good =) It's been a long time since I've had nuts in anything. And it's a holiday anyways. It's not the holidays that make us fat, it's the days in between them.

Anyways, I'm going to try to eat light today because we're going out again on Saturday.

Dude, I'm So Moody Right Now

I've been so moody the last couple of days and there's no monthly reason to blame it on, so I don't know what's up. Maybe age makes me cranky.

So I'm taking the day off today, and I'm going to have some beers and eat out at the theater while we watch Superman this afternoon. And get over myself!

Cranky sucks.

I'll post my 'Accountability' in advance: Ate some food and drank beer, didn't make my water goal, walked the dog for a mile in the a.m.

Hola

I was going to write something about sleeping late and not exercising because it's hot, then I decided that I didn't want to type that out for the 100th time... so I guess I have to actually do something about it. Hooray for tomorrows!

Accountability: Low on calories, drank half of my water, no exercise.

Friday Cancelled

Friday wine is cancelled because Saturday is my birthday and my friend who is making the plans for us said that we are starting off with mexican food. He's also notorious for his cheesecakes (bastard!). He makes a great cheesecake and brought one to us for thanksgiving, and my husband and I ended up eating about 30 lbs of cheesecake over the holiday.

Anyways, I was up by 5:30 but didn't feel like riding my bike at 6. It's nice and cool outside though so maybe I'll feel like riding it later. I make no promises though. I'll at least take it out to the store at some point today.

140.5 again which was a nice surprise. I didn't expect that to stick.
