gym workout done...but it was a struggle!

Sigh.....I don't do well on only a few hours sleep! I went to the gym for my normal lunchtime workout and got thru, but barely! There will be no walk in the 90 degree heat for me tonight!

Another reason I'm not feeling the greatest is that I have a sore mouth. The gum right behind my last bottom tooth is SO sore. It has a little bubble on it now. I've been irritating it with dental floss cause I was sure there must be a bit of food stuck down behind my tooth that was causing it......its been nearly a week and its not getting better...or worse. I called my dentist but he's on vacation this week. Figures! If it gets worse, I'll have to try to get in with another Doc. Its always something!

It's gonna be a long day :-(

OMG...bad night! Went to bed at my usual time, but couldn't get to sleep because I was so dang hungry! I tried to fight it off, but finally at midnight, I got up and went downstairs for a small bowl of frosted mini-wheats. That's what I get for not eating all of my Daily Pts Allowance! I can usually fall asleep when I'm hungry, but not last night! Then I had a restless night till I got up at 5:15.....as I said.....its gonna be a long day! zzzzzzzzz! I had big plans for the gym and a walk/run tonight, but not sure the energy level is gonna allow for both. We'll see.....right now my eyes feel like two burnt holes in a blanket!  Tomorrow morning I'll find out if my week of hard work is going to pay off. I sure hope I see some results, you'll hear the scream all over the country if I don't!

Back from the gym & a healthy lunch!

Another good gym workout under my belt! Not sure if I'll walk/run tonight or not. I did 20 minutes on the treadmill alternating running and walking and I don't want to burn myself out since tonight would make 3 nights in a row of doing my Cardio Coach.  We'll see how I feel tonight. I'm eating my standard lunch of a whole wheat tortilla with turkey, lettuce & homemade salsa rolled up. A lite string cheese, baked tostito scoops with homemade salsa(8 of them), some cut up red and yellow sweet peppers, and a bit later I'll have a cup of Del Monte grapefruit. Yummo! I eat the same thing for lunch 3-4 times a week. I pack for the whole week on Monday mornings so I don't have to tote a bag every day.  On Monday's I come in with my lunch bag plus 2-3 grocery bags with stuff in them! LOL! I hope you're all enjoying your Monday!

Another week...bring it on!

Amazing......I stayed OP all weekend! Even with eating out 3 times! Plus.....I walked 45 minutes both Saturday and Sunday! What??  Who is this person? LOL! I have Cardio Coach on my Ipod and let me tel you....he makes me work! I just have Volume 1 right now, but there are other volumes available. I plan to do another walk/run tonight.

I did very well with my Italian dinner last night! I get the Homemade Cheese Ravioli with portobella mushrooms in a pink cream sauce....OMG...so, so good! I only ate 2 of the 5 and brought the other 3 home for a yummy dinner Tuesday night when DH is golfing. I also had 1 piece of the bruschetta that they give you and one slice of their yummy bread..sans butter. Also a salad with dressing on the side.  All in all, I was quite proud of myself!  I'm gearing up for weigh in on Wednesday....please, please let me have lost a lb or 2!

Sunday......hot......blech!

OMG...the humidity is kiling me today! I'm dreading my walk this afternoon, but I have to get it in before we head out for dinner! I'll have to carry a water bottle along with me, which is a pain, but I'll need it today. I have all my eating for the day planned out and I will come in under my point target! I'll be eating 1/2 of my dinner tonight and saving half for a yummy leftover meal! I'm not really feeling like I've lost weight this week and I'm trying to prepare myself mentally for the shock of weighing in on Wednesday. I don't want to give up on this quest if the scale doesn't reflect my week of hard work! I'm not really thinking of it as a diet. Its changing the way I eat...for life! Right now I'm doing the journaling etc that I won't do forever, but for now its important to get me off on the right foot.

I hope you all have had a great weekend. Why do they always go so fast?

Saturday....OP!

Yeah! I made it thru Saturday and stayed on plan!! Woohoo! Hubby had no rest until we drove 1/2 hr to a grocery store where they have a food court! I got chinese and stayed away from anything fried and ate just a little bit of a few things. Its frustrating to me to try to shop in a strange grocery store! I couldn't find several of my favorite things and it just made me mad! So......I'll end up going to my regular market tomorrow anyway! Hubby and I went for a 45 minute walk(including a killer hill!) after dinner tonight! Yeah us! I really wanted to go alone and listen to my Ipod cause I have a training thing on there that tells me to speed up, slow down etc. Its more of a workout, but just walking at a good clip with hubby and talking was nice too. Tomorrow DH wants to go to an Italian restaurant for dinner!  My favorite dish there is homemade ravioli(cheese) with sliced portobello mushrooms in a pink cream sauce...OMG...you could die! The nice thing about this place is that they don't give you such humongous portions! I think they give you 5 raviolis. I'm planning to eat 3 of them, a piece of their yummy bread and salad with dressing on the side. I'm going to count 10 pts for all of that and hope I'm close! I have to get another good walk in tomorrow to build up some activity pts! I hope you're all having a great weekend! Talk to you soon!

Friday....at last!!!!!!!!

I don't know what's up with me, but I'm SO tired this morning! I slept well....and went to bed way early because I was SO tired last night! I'm planning on going for a nice walk at lunch time. Its a beautiful day! Cool morning and it should be beautiful at 11 for my walk. I have a training program loaded into my Ipod Touch that I haven't done yet. May fire that up today! After my walk I'm going to go to the Chinese buffet and get a 1/2 cup of Veg Lo Mein, and 2 cups of Chicken w/broccoli. According to my calculations, that should be about 6 WW pts. If any of you WW's see this and know I'm way off...please let me know! I'm really trying to work the program! Then, tonight hubby has already said that he wants a grinder(hot sub) and pizza.  I have a plan. We always share a large turkey grinder and I'm going to order it with no cheese, and no mayo. We will add our own Hellman's Lt Mayo. Instead of eating my half.....I will eat half of my half and save the other piece for tomorrow! Then.....instead of 3 pieces(small pieces) of pizza, I'm going to eat 1. Oh...and I'm going to order the pizza with lt cheese and mushrooms and onions. I'm figuring about 10 pts for that dinner......sound about right? Then I have a container of Edy's slow churned lite ice cream in Caramel....yum.....that I'm dying to try! A serving is 1/2 cup, so I just spoon it into my 1/2 cup measure and eat it right out of there!  2 pts. So.....there's my day! I'm really going to strive to make it a good OP(on program) weekend......wish me luck!

Another day in pointsville!

Is it only Thursday? How can that be possible? Sigh......its been a long week here at work. Slow time of the month makes for never-ending days! My eating and working out is right on plan! Dinner last night was fabulous and hubby and I each brought some of our entrees home for a really yummy dinner of leftovers tonight! I have a facial after work, so having yummy food to warm-up suits me fine! So far I'm right on target with my points for the week. I may dip into my WPA for a couple tonight(if hubby finds corn on the cob!), but I haven't used any of the 35 so far, so no worries! Made it to the gym 3 times this week and I think tomorrow's workout will be a nice 30 minute walk outside at lunch time if its not too hot.  Hope you are all having a great week!

And............she's off!!

Well, today is my official start of WW. I had to adjust my weight..upward, I'm afraid  But......this is the highest my weight will EVER be, I swear! I'm only going to weigh in Wednesday mornings. No more 3 times a week driving myself nuts! So....I'm excited to be taking control...finally! I bought a little WW points calculator(love gadgets) and I'm logging my pts into that. I'm also writing things down. I have to make myself accountable. We have a rainy day today.....I could sleep! We had T-storms during the night and I've been awake pretty much since 3AM. zzzzzzzzzzzzz! I'm supposed to have golf league tonight, but that may be cancelled unless the weather clears. I know you're all sick of hearing this.......

.....but I am starting a new weight loss plan.  I simply have to do something. I'm sick to death of feeling like this. I am beginning Weight Watchers(on my own) on Wednesday. I'm actually starting today, but my official first weigh in will be Wednesday. I did WW back in 1998 and lost 40 lbs but then, of course, gained it all back plus. I just need the accountability of logging my food and keeping track. Wednesday was always my weigh-in day when I did WW before, so Wednesday it will be again. Stay tuned for progress reports.

The Grandson's birthday party was a huge success! The kids had so much fun with the inflatable "bouncy house"! It had a slide and everything! Our son got the idea to wet down the slide and then WOW! The kids loved it! I also had gotten a big beach ball that you attach your hose to and it shoots water out of 4 different sprinkler jets! Even the adults took advantage of that in the 90 degree heat! All in all, it was a great day. I was SO tired and my feet hurt so badly after the party.....that is a big part of what has convinced me that I MUST do something about this weight. I don't want to get to be in my sixties and have my feet in such bad shape from carrying all this weight that I can't get around anymore! I want to be a sassy and active senior!! LOL!  So anyway, here I go again.....thank you so much for all your support thru all my aborted attempts to shed this weight. Your support means a lot to me.
