Friday
Friday, Friday, Friday is my favorite day! Yoga this morning, my favorite breakfast - oatmeal, blueberries and walnuts. That keeps me til lunch.
Happy because I am going clothes shopping this weekend and that I got the new Jodi Picoult book.
Plan for the day, 100 oz water, food plan, and going out to dinner. One slice of pizza. It is so much safer than brining the whole pizza home and having leftovers.

Wednesday
Half way through the week - yeah! Looking forward to the weekend and going to the swapmeet. Love walking aroung looking at all the possible treasures.
Plan for the day - food plan 1400 calories - water - 100 oz. exercise - 2 mile walk with the dogs. Post in my blog and encourage others in theirs. Watch American Idol the results!! Some great singers this season.
Yesterday didn't stick to the food plan, went awry at night. Night time has always been my problem. So tongiht I will change it up and brush my teeth at 7 so I won't be tempted to snack. I hate to snack with toothpaste clean teeth. I think I will also gargle and get the taste going too.

Hunger
I went through a period of being really hungry. I was eating my normal calorie plan, 1400 - 1450. I wanted to lose more weight, but would barely hit 149 and then it would be up a few more lbs.
I don't know if I was really hungry or if it was something else? Maybe I just wanted the comfort of the food. I don't know. But I was really scared that I lost the 15 lbs so far and then I was going to blow it and not really care and eat the 15 lbs back. Which I have done lots of time. I stopped writing in my food journal because I didn;t want to know. The weird thing was that when I went back and recorded it, it wasn't that terribly bad.
I just went through a cray week and am feeling better now. Maybe the eposide was trying to teach me something,
But I want this time to be different. So, I am back on track.

Progress not Perfection
My good friend in a 12 step program loves to use this quote. It is so healthy. We are all trying to take charge of our health, to make better choices and to try new activies to help us in our weight loss.
Our goal is progress, slow and steady. And we are seeing it. Changes in weight, changes in attitude. Our outlook changes, and we feel hopeful.
I've made progress this week, in my March goals. I tried a new dish, salmon. It was okay, I am tyring to add some fish to my diet.
I am rethinking the weights because they are already incorporated in the water aerobics, so I think I will let the weights goal go.
Yoga daily, namaste, and walking the dogs every other day.
Looking forward to the weekend, want to get out in the yard and pull some weeds and get some flower beds ready.

Rain Rain go away....
We have had so much rain this month. I don't really mind because we need it. San Diego always needs water. Everything is really green now. Hillsides that are normally brown are a glorious green.
I do miss being outside, walking or riding my bike.
I have been on track with food, water and exercise. Yeah!
I did go for the first time to have an accupunture treatment. I have always wanted to experience accupunture, so with a recommendation from a friend, I went. to a local accupunturist. I had the beginings of carpal tunnel and an achy shoulder and an arthritic knee, I am in my 50's after all.
I had a half hour treatment and the carpal tunnel pain is gone, the knee is painfree and the shoulder feels so good.
I must say I was so amazed. I had about 40 needles in me, didn't hurt, and I lay in a dim room with the sounds of waves crashing ont he shore. I fell asleep and woke up so refreshed.
Have any of you experienced accupunture?

Drivers License
In California, your drivers license is automatically renewed if you haven't had any accidents, citations. So I was cleaning out my wallet and really looked at my license and so that my much renewed license showed by weight as 135. My top weight was 165 and I am now done to 153. I am on my way back to 135.
Do any of you have your current weight on your license, if not, what does your license say?

This time
I am doing a lot of things different this time. I am writing down what I eat and monitoring my calories. I am not focused on losing weight quickly, but losing it safely. Keeping a balanced diet. I prepare my own food, although I do use healthy choice or Lean Cusine in a pinch when I know I will have a busy day and evening.
I am learning to enjoy my food, eating it slowly and savoring the flavors. I used to be such a fast eater. Eating slower also helps me to be full sooner.
I have become a label reader. I want to know what and how much calories/fat/salt etc that I am putting in my body.
I have some blood work done at the doctor's and found on an on target except for slightly high cholestol, which I am working to lower by diet and exercise.
Exercise has to be fun. I enjoying walking, biking, swimming. If it isn't fun, I won't stay with it.
And lastly, I am blogging and sharing my journey with you all. I always tried to lose weight on my own, but this time decdied to have support.
Had a great day off today, President's day.
