Before After

Thursday

Taking two vacation days on Monday and Tuesday left a pile of work for me on Wednesday.  My search into nursing homes for MIL is taking a lot of time.  A friend at work who went through this already has been a wealth of information.  There is so much to consider when choosing a nursing home.  MIL knows this is coming but wants to delay it as long as possible.  She has a doctor appointment tomorrow, so we will she what the doctor says.

Have stayed on track with food and exercise.  Water is a problem when I am not at work, as I forget to drink it when I am out and about.

Tomorrow our work has a vacation day, so I will get the house ready for my son's visit.  He is in the Navy in submarines based in Groton, Conn.  He is my baby (24 years old).

I bought a pedometer and I was really disappointed because any kind of movement at all registers as a step.  I want my money back!

I know a lot of you are from Texas and I have been watching the news on your weather - tornados and hail!  I hope you are all okay and haven't had any damages.

Take care.

Tell your son - THANKS!!!

I can empathize with you as you go through this with your MIL. The whole elderly health care system is a maze.  I'm glad you have a friend who's giving you some good info.  It's all very time consuming.  My Dad almost died from his chemo treatments last Sept. He went downhill so fast we didn't realize what was happening until Mom started having palpitations and her blood pressure shot up because of the stress.  The kids all rallyed and we got her some help. Dad (86) is doing better now - can even walk w/out help of a walker.  Hopefully there are a lot of good choices in San Diego area.

Looks like your'e staying right on target with the wt loss and the stress hasn't driven you to the cookie jar - that's great!
