Food Frustration http://www.extrapounds.com/blog/nevergiveup/comments/175024/food-frustration So at my job they buy lunch for the employees everyday which is great but unfortunately its usually fast food stuff, ie unhealthy but tastes really good in the fattening kind of way. You may remember part of my last goal though which was to not have the provided lunch at work this week however. Today was really tough though because it was Panda Express from which I love the noodles. What did i have to look forward to... PB&J, apple, and a few chips. Certainly not orange chicken by any stretch of the imagination. But I stuck to it and even only had a diet soda (the new diet 7up is really good :) ).

My other goal was to walk this week. I didnt do it yesterday though :( but i did today so I just got to keep going.

Well gotta get back to work, catch you later. :) Comments(2) 175024 Monday, December 4, 2006 22:09:18 First Goal Accomplished :) http://www.extrapounds.com/blog/nevergiveup/comments/172145/first-goal-accomplished- So I bought some AM/FM headphones last night so that i could listen to a morning radio program while I walked. They are small and not adjustable so i look a little dorky wearing them but oh well hehe. So this morning I woke up and my wife who is really encouraging wished me luck and I went and walked on the treadmill for an hour :).

Come to find out though that EP doesn't have that option in the Activity Log, just walking at 2.0mph which they have as burning more calories (like 240 ) in an hour that the treadmill, which read 175cal after my hour. So I tried to remember how to do math ratios and came up with it being the equivalent of me walking for 36min. All this math probably doesn't matter to anyone, but i wanted to vent a little i guess. I shouldn't complain though since there is so much here and its free which is so nice :D.

So what should my next goal be...hmmm...well my goal is to walk the rest of this week for an hour in the morning, except for sunday. Also, even though I was already planning this, my diet goal is to not eat the provided fast food lunches at my work next week. I think that is all for now. To infinity and beyond. Comments(1) 172145 Monday, December 4, 2006 22:04:11 Why am I here? http://www.extrapounds.com/blog/nevergiveup/comments/171326/why-am-i-here Thats any easy question :), to lose weight, be healthier and more physically appealing to my wife. The how of this though always seems so daunting. Like most other people trying to lose weight I have tried a variety of things except for pills, but they don't seem to work. I think though this is because I want to see instant results like every time I lift a dumbbell I see or feel my bicep getting bigger. Unfortunately my body doesn't work that way and so I tend to give up on exercise, diet or what have you, 2 weeks in.

I do hope though that having a place to talk about what I am going through will help and being able to see my progress however slight will be encouraging. ^_^

So my long term goal is to lose 80 pounds of fat and increase my muscle mass though I don't have a set number for this. This again is like a huge mountain in front of me. So to combat this lets try a very small short term goal and see if i can do it, and that is to walk tomorrow morning before work for an hour.

So check back tomorrow to see if i succeeded, I really hope I do. Comments(3) 171326 Monday, December 4, 2006 22:03:12
