The Challenge of Consistency

With all the business of packing and move-planning, I have found it very challenging to remain consistent with both my diet and exercise.  We have resorted to going out to eat more often in the past months because I haven't had much time to cook and I've been so tired.  I must say that I'm very proud of how I have changed my food choices when at a restaurant.  I have found that I can be just as satisfied with healthier choices as opposed to the fried, fried, fried items that I use to order.

Exercise, though, has been much tougher to maintain.  In fact, I can't really say that I have done so.  I ran tonight for the second time in a month.  It felt so good.  Just in that amount of time, I had forgotten how liberating it feels to run through the country.  I'm not sure how I can maintain running when I am just so busy.  We are up VERY early, so by the time I get home from work, get dinner ready, and do some packing, it is time for bed.  I have to get sleep or I can not function.  If anyone has some suggestions concerning how to maintain consistency in exercise when life is CRAZY, I would appreciate the advice.

Try getting out to the country somehow.  There is a freedom there that is unable to be found other places.

glad your back

How nice to be able to move to the country!  As far as exercise goes, I would guess that you are getting plenty with all the pack, moving, unpacking, etc.  That takes a lot of energy.  Just do the best you can and try not to stress over it. I really believe stress is one of the biggest factors in weight gain and weight loss.  Soon life will be back to normal and you can get back into a routine.  Hang in there!

Hey!

So I remember my very first I read from you was about podcasts.  Well, at the time I didn't have an iPOD and I was so interested.  Well, guess what?  My birthday is this weekend, and my mom sent me an Ipod nano.  So now I can try those podcasts you were talking about.  Could you send me a couple links to the ones you listen to??  Do I just google search podcasts??

I bet you are super super busy.  But God knows.  He has you right where he wants ya!!!

Great to hear from you again

I imagine that between the bending, squats, lifting ...  you are excercising....Maybe the run is more to release the stress than excercising.  Do lots of stretching...that is all I could think of.  Once everything is back in order with the move then you can get back to a routine...Just don't stress out over it.

Congrats on making wise choices when out at restaurants.  I was talking with my fitness buddy about that.  It is not about giving up any of the joys of life...it is however to make more of them with wise choices.

You've done so well....I'm so glad your back to blogging!

Stay Strong, Stay Focused.....watch your back while lifting!

Hello

Hope the packing is still going well.  I hate to even think about what it would take for me to pack up my house for a move like that.

I hope you have been able to get in your exercise like you mentioned.

Take care

Come back and post!

I know your life is busy (okay, so I have noooooooo idea -- LOL).

Your "fans" miss your posts.  Hope everything is going well and that life is starting to be a little less crazy for ya.

Reverse Diet

Hi!

I tried the Reverse Diet that you mentioned in your earlier posts.  Today was my first day; I'm just following the concept of the RD, eating a heavier breakfast and lighter dinner.  I have been dividing up my WW points similar to the way you did.  I must say, everything you said was true!  For the first time, I was not starving by lunchtime, and I even survived the 3 o'clock chocolate craving!  Thanks for the info!

where are you?

We miss you.  Come back!
